absolutely appalling company. We are opening a new business and has I have read the other reviews written about them the same happened to us. They have signed us up with YGC even though I rang them the day after and told them I couldn’t do it has it was a brewery owned property. MICHELLE who was the person that rang me was one of the biggest con people I have ever had to deal with. And of all people I should have known better after dealing with a lot of these situations. But she kept bartering me. To the point that I even told her I wasn’t happy with the way she was conducting herself. But in the end after a 15 minute conversation I signed the agreement. She said if I put the phone down then the price would go up substantially the next day. She then proceeded to give me her direct line so I could call her the next day if I had any issues. Which I have on email. I rang her at 7.30am the next day and told her that I couldn’t go ahead because it couldn’t be changed out of the current owner name has I was only a tenant and she said there was nothing that could be done. Which was wrong has several other agents had rang me that morning asking me if I wanted to change. I asked to speak to her manager and she said she would get them to ring me. I have never had a phone call back and her direct line was cut off 20 minutes after I spoke to her telling her I was going to speak to trading standards and the Ombudsman about the company.
DO NOT USE THEM OR YGC AS THEY ARE AS BAD.

I don’t believe that any review on here that is above one star is honest.

The same happened to me as the other people. Call pretending to work for the energy company and then trap you into a contract you can get out of. I haven’t been able to contact them since the initial phone call. Absolute dishonest vile scammers that target honest business owners. I spoke to the energy ombudsman at length yesterday and will be opening a case.

And to the tossers operating this company, I hope somebody scams one of your kids one day and we’ll see how you like it.

At the beginning of the year I took over a company, had lots of things to sort out but brokers kept calling my work phone which I answered the broker who called told me it was showing up that I had no electricity supplier and that this would result in me paying higher rates, I told them I was already in the process of setting up with another company but the broker told me they can get me better rates I agreed as they made me feel like if not I’d be paying high rates. I learned the next day that I was already locked in with the company I went with to begin with. I hadn’t heard anything for a couple months and now they are claiming loss of earnings and trying to take money from me, I am a young small business owner that can not afford to be paying things like this. They bullying and falsely lead you into making bad decisions not knowing that if the contract doesn’t go through even to no fault of your own.

Avoid Business Reduction Services at all costs.

I was repeatedly cold-called from unknown numbers and pressured into believing I urgently needed to update my electricity/gas meter. They falsely claimed I was out of contract and would face “emergency rates” unless I acted immediately—classic scare tactics.

When I questioned how they got my details, they claimed it was from “social media” because I’d recently moved premises. I don’t even use social media. This was clearly a lie to sound credible.

I was passed to Michelle, who used aggressive sales pressure and promised the “best deal available.” What I got instead was a 36-month contract at an outrageous 38.56p/kWh with a 60p/day standing charge—well above market rates.

When I hesitated, Michelle deflected with, “Does this look good to you?”—offloading responsibility and brushing over the details. I was then pushed into giving over my bank details over the phone with barely any verification. It was rushed, vague, and totally unethical.

After realizing I’d been misled, I tried to cancel immediately. I was told I was “locked in” and there was “nothing that could be done.” When I requested a copy of my call (which I’m legally entitled to), Mason (so called manager) refused and dismissed me.

This entire experience has been deeply stressful. Their practices are misleading, manipulative, and predatory—preying on people unfamiliar with commercial energy contracts.

I have now reported them to the Energy Ombudsman and strongly urge anyone else affected to do the same.

🚨 DO NOT trust this company. They are dishonest, high-pressure scammers who should be investigated.

I dealt with Michelle from Business Reduction Services, the process was smooth and efficient. Michelle helped me massively as I’ve just opened my new business and I was so busy and stressed that dealing with my utilities didn’t even cross my mind. Michelle was fantastic she arranged my Electric and Gas contract with Yorkshire Gas & Power, My water and commercial waste contract with Everflow, My telecomms (phoneline/broadband) with Daisy telecomms and my card machine with worldpay. Everything is up and running, no issues whatsoever and I couldn’t be happier with the service provided. I will be contacting Business Reduction Services when I open my addition second shop in May. It’s very rare you come across companies who are clear, transparent and do what they say they are going to do. Basically a one stop shop ! Fabulous

Brilliant service

So Business Reduction Services, I've finally tracked down the company who contacted my vulnerable daughter by telephone (a private number so no way she could call you back). The woman who spoke said she was name Michelle and she was from the meter reading services - obviously a lie in order just to generate new business! She conned my daughter into taking on a 3 year expensive electricity contract with Yorkshire Gas and Power and has already been hit with an extortionate upfront bill.

My daughter took over an empty shop in March. Michelle rang my daughter on 11/3/25 again saying she was from the meter reading services. She said it was her duty to make sure my daughter was on the lowest tarif as she would be on the highest one until she switched. She did not fully explain the terms and conditions but what she did say confused my daughter.

My daughter is vulnerable and has suffered with mental health issues but is trying to turn her life around by doing something positive. She told Michelle she was busy and couldn't talk but Michelle used her obvious professional, persuasive and misguiding skills to lure my daughter into a 3 year expensive contract with YGP.

My daughter has an ongoing complaint with YGP because there are errors on the contract. It was they who told my daughter that Business Reduction Services referred my daughter to them and not the meter reading services. This was blatant fraud by Michelle on your company's behalf by pretending to be someone they are not and using their well rehearsed skills to manipulate and persuade someone to enter a contract which, if I or my daughter had been given time to look over the deal, she would more than likely have not agreed to it.

My daughter gave Michelle the meter readings on the day she called. Those meter readings should have been given to YGP but instead they have entered estimated readings which has produced an upfront bill for one month of £402. This is extortionate as there is only a kettle, 2 medium strip lights, a til and a small halogen heater in there. There's no way she's used £402 in electricity in one month.

I have taken advice regarding the illegal way your company has operated. I request a copy of the telephone conversation Michelle had with my daughter. I understand you have two weeks to supply this.

I am absolutely appalled that someone would stoop so low in order to generate business for their company. You must be desperate for business. Michelle should be ashamed and, if you know your staff operate in this way, you should be too! If you aren't aware of it, then Michelle should be sacked! It's disgraceful.

I expect an immediate response with an explanation to this complaint and the copy of the telephone recording as requested.

It’s 11am and I’ve already received 5 calls from this company. All different mobile numbers. They are very vague about what they are calling about and just state it’s about a new tenancy on a commercial property.
