Absolutely appalling. My husband died last year and I am in the process of closing the company down. I had a phone call from BT Local business who said he was BT business. I immediately told Adam my situation re broadband and I was at home as the premises were being sold.
He told me it would cost £4,000.00 to end the contract or I could join up with broadband fibre and even through in a FREE iPad!!! A complete pack of lies.
He knew I was vulnerable and took full advantage of my situation and naivety. I had open reach round to my house to install the system until one of the contractors kindly told me that I had been scammed. I have since cancelled the original contract with BT and not been charged a penny as it was a bereavement. DO NOT touch Simon Cook and his company ever. Zero stars!

Absolutely horrendous experience with them. We got a leased line on a 3 year minimum term contract. The sales part was actually very good and they were very helpful. However trying to end the contract after 3 years was a completely different matter. I called BT to give notice and was told I have to speak to "BT Local Business". So I called them and was told only our account manager can end the contract. Asked to speak to them but they weren't available. Asked for them to call me and didn't hear anything back. So I wrote to BT (as it says you can on their website) giving notice. Didn't hear anything back. So sent the letter again using tracked post… didn't hear anything back. So I cancelled the direct debit. That got me several calls from the accounts department and after explaining all this I was told I have to contact our BT Local Business account manager!

They carried on charging me for 4 months then set the debt collectors on us. Had to pay them nearly £2500 to stop the harassment despite us being in the right! Will take this to the ombudsman now to get my money back.

I work in data networks and have had to work with BT for many years. Ever since BT Local Business has become a thing getting anything done (unless you are buying a new service) is impossible. They are only interested in the sale and will just ignore you otherwise.

Stay away from them at all costs!

10 months after signing the contract we still have no phones. Have spoken to around 15 different operatives and got nowhere. Have had £6k taken from our company account with no service. Never ever experienced anything like it. Eventually put in a formal complaint. Nothing. Threatened to sue them. Nothing. No engagement whatsoever and clueless with it.

One star is too many, please be warned these people are salesmen hiding behide BT. They don’t care what you say they only want the sale. They have no idea about the infrastructure of any specific location in the UK- strong advice is don’t be fooled - don’t trust them don’t let them bully you and always read everything carefully - talk to the official BT company find out if what local are offering is at all advantageous to you and not purely a gimmick - don’t let them sell side products especially if you have your own company support and backup. Tried to break a contract - we always said would only be required for 18 months not 5 years - they tried to charge nearly 9k! Don’t let them charge you for something they knew was a poor product

BT Local Business Bucks - absolutely dreadful, they don't listen, they don't research anything about your business before they call, they don't take no for an answer. I had a call from Zane yesterday who proceeded to tell me that my broadband line was up for renewal then kept referring to it as a telephone line. Absolute shambles. There doesn't seem to be a way to complain to actual BT about this franchise. We've asked them to remove us from their database but of course they aren't going to do that as they simply don't listen to anything you say or ask.

The fact that this company uses the word 'British' in its name seems, unfortunately, to be a disservice to the prestige and values that this word typically represents.

Since August 2024, I've been using the services of a different company, yet they are still charging me via direct debit. I've spent hours on the phone and gained nothing but frustration. It's as if with every call, you're back to square one—explaining from scratch why you're calling, only to be told in the end that the person you’re speaking with can't help, and the cycle repeats endlessly.

Did not provide the service they were billing for so I have had two years of twoing and froing to try to get my account sorted but to no avail. Very difficult to work with, extremely disappointing. The South Yorkshire local business team are the ones who promised me the products and at a cheaper rate than I was paying and then they bill me double the amount agreed! Useless

Harassment at it's finest.
Daily emails from Darren Judson at BT business local to sign the document. Even though after an extremely pushy telephone call from him and telling him we did NOT want to sign or change to them.
How do they get away with this?
The email said they will email us DAILY till we sign the document.
We're on to day 2 now.
Disgraceful. Would be zero stars if it was possible!!!!!

My experience :
Man telephones says he is from BT.
I have already dealt with someone actually from BT about the Digital switch and tell him that giving the official BT 's email address. And as I am a vulnerable customer he has extended my present contract until a more suitable piece of equipment becomes available.
This man from BTLocalBusiness then sends a contract for signature ! No discussion has taken place. It is for 5 years ! with yearly price increases and not for the sort of equipment a deaf person requires.
I respond stating this is mad and far too expensive.
He reduces the cost.
I say No. Not happy. Sticking with my extended contract already in place. Still believing I am speaking to the real BT Business
He sends a 'reminder' with a 'business agreement' to be signed. I will now ignore any further communication having taken legal advice.
This is clearly bordering on mis-selling.
I am aghast that BT is giving account details to this company and allowing this behaviour.

Take the order, but cannot provide the service. Very difficult to work with, extremely disappointing. When they don't install as agreed, the local business team basically say they can't help and I have to speak to after sales when aftersales are the ones who promised me of the setup date in writing twice, so i'm left stuck without a service, waiting for call backs.

Yet again one star because there is not any option for less. Had a call from these people, clearly minimally trained commission hungry telesales people. Clearly have access to all BT records and give the impression they are the ones to deal with when renewing contract. Hopelessly incompetent to present contracts or details, the one they sent me to look over was a total shambles. Wrong names, wrong prices etc etc. Flood of emails and phone calls from them, desperately wanting to push for a quick decision, always a sign of a dodgy sales outfit. Reminds me of the worst of the double glazing industry in the 1980s. Checked out the reviews on here, hard to find a positive one that doesn't look self created.

I thank you Shona for helping me and rectifying my nearly a year disgusting problem with BT that never ever went away. Without you I would still be worried sick my wife included I have never experienced such a disgusting and costly problem through no fault of my own thanks again for helping me

My experience of BT Local business and BT in general cannot be described in one word.
My experience this week involved them telling lies about attending our company when they simply did not and we have cameras to prove it. They have seriously affected our business this week and i dread to think how much business we have missed as a result. I hope i never have the misfortune of having to deal with them ever again.
After 1 week and all business lines down they have still not attended site to resolve the issue. We have now cancelled them, They are a disgrace.
Have moved within the week to a new provider and now with a company that is very helpful renewing our faith that there are people out there who are helpful and care and professional.
BT staff who dealt with us are appalling. It is not the first time we have had a very bad experience from BT but this will be the last. I am shocked they are allowed to continue in business. They should be struck off

Shambolic. It took BT Local 2 months to resolve an issue with a Bill of £700 when they changed our services. Steven Wallace, who made the mistake, avoided me while Sarah (manager) ignored all communication and got her team to lie on her behalf. BT Local, who could not do their work, kept ignoring my emails and calls after promising to resolve the issue. If you have a small business, avoid getting into a contract with BT Local because while they shine, your small business will fall at their expense. There are no credits that can make up for a damaged business reputation and your mental health. Issue is still; ongoing.

Beware they are not BT!!! I couldn’t avoid this happened to me because they said they are calling from BT. They have all my account detail. And urgently I need to book an appointment to install fibre line to my business if not I will lose my number and broadband. They promised they are not selling me a new contract and all because BT doing their infrastructure upgrade and get rid of old phone line. Went ahead with the installing appointment and 3 months later with £1000 first quarter bill. I was shocked and rang BT. They said I was mis sold with 5 years contract by them and paying £120 monthly for the Same service they only charge £37 and 24month contract Max. I know I’m not the only one here but can anyone please tell me what I can do to get out of it. If not I have to close down my business because of that. Thanks

Absolutely stay away from BT local business, I don't have many direct dealings with them but have a lot of customers who do. They use fear mongering tactics to scare people into contracts and internet lines that they don't need. They create a sense of panic and urgency for no reason.

Some of the contracts I've seen are diabolical, 5 year contracts for rubbish slow ADSL lines at insane prices.

How BT allow this partnership is insane.

Horrific experience with BT Local Business Wirral and Chester - still thousands of pounds out of pocket thanks to the lack of management of our account nearly 12 months after we ceased services with them. For months and months emails were ignored, promises made that where never kept to. Overall, an absolutely shoddy service. If your running a business and don't want to throw money down the drain, AVOID BT and BT LOCAL BUSINESS. Trust me, it will save you a world of pain and wasted time spent trying to resolve things.

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO I WOULD.... BEEN TORMENTED SINCE APRIL 24. CONVINCED ME TO SWITCH OVER TO THEM.. SWAPPED EVERYTHING OVER RAJ SINGH FROM BT WEST MIDLANDS. HE DIDNT CANCEL OLD ACCOUNT CONTUNED TO GEET CHARGED NEARLY £700, THEN GOT TOLD TO WAIT TO SEE HOW MUCH THE REFUND WILL BE IN OCT INVOICE. GOT THAT , THEN ONLY CREDITED £200, AND EXPLAINED I DON'T WANT CREDIT .. I WANT REFUND. THE SECOND ACCOUNT STILL HASN'T BEEN CLOSED. THE AMOUNT OF INCOMPETENCE IS OVERWHELMING. STILL WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GET BACK TO ME

Awful people. They do not reply to emails, do not answer the phone. they have mis sold and not cancelled lines. do not deal with bt local business Coventry. In fact, do not deal with bt at all.
