The worst council I have ever had to deal with. It would appear that the Council leaders care very little for the environment or the residents.
Litter everywhere no regard for keeping the area clean. Despite putting out posters regarding the dumping of rubbish it is not acted on.
The centre of Wembley is a disgrace people spitting red liquid dirty disgusting pavements, filthy shop fronts. A disgrace for a borough with the national stadium not to mention major events arena. I would be interested to know what the council does with the revenues collected from all these events. The residents are time and time again inconvenienced by these events without any redress and yet there is no evidence of where the money goes.
The districts are filthy the roads in poor conditions. Previous public buildings are sold to people or developers unknown without any previous sale signs.
The gangster approach to leaving reviews on Brent website is a deterrent in itself the threat is that one’s contact details will be fully published.
I am not surprised Brent is bottom of the press league table of desirable Boroughs to live in.
I have lived here for almost 30 years and have seen the constant decline in the Borough.
I am so very disappointed with Brent councillors.

Let’s not pretend anymore. Brent didn’t just “slip” in a ranking — under your leadership it has fallen, rotted and sunk to the absolute bottom, now officially named the worst borough in London, confirmed by the Telegraph and amplified by Time Out for all to see.

32 out of 32. Last. The worst place to live in the capital.
That’s your legacy.

Once upon a time, Brent had community pride. It had character, dignity, and hope. Now? It’s dirty, neglected, crime-ridden, chaotic and visibly decaying. It is filthy. Rubbish-strewn streets, illegal dumping unaddressed, overdevelopment with zero infrastructure support, rising crime, collapsing public trust — you’ve presided over it all while acting as though residents should be grateful for the slow-motion destruction of their home.

Let’s be crystal clear:

✅ Brent is visibly filthy.
✅ Public areas are a disgrace.
✅ Green spaces feel neglected or unsafe.
✅ Hospitality is ranked near rock bottom (14 points!).
✅ Culture has withered.
✅ Infrastructure is crumbling under mismanagement.
✅ Residents feel ignored, unheard, and abandoned.

This did not “just happen”. It happened on your watch, while you and your circle clung to power with performative “engagement” and empty PR lines about “community investment” that nobody sees and nobody believes.

You had years to turn things around. Instead, Brent has hit national headlines for being the worst of the worst. Do you understand what it means to residents to open their phones and see their borough held up as a punchline?

If this were a private company, the CEO would be gone by morning.
If this were a football club, the manager would be booed out of the stadium.
If this were any position based on merit, you’d be finished already.

Instead, Brent is stuck with a leadership more focused on political positioning than on actually cleaning the streets or making residents feel safe and proud again.

So here it is, bluntly and unapologetically:

👉 Your position is untenable.
👉 The borough is failing under your leadership.
👉 You should resign immediately and allow someone competent, serious and accountable to take control before further damage is done.

Unless you can produce immediate, measurable actions backed by transparent funding and real timelines — not the usual vague promises and slogans — then the only honourable move left is resignation.

But let’s be honest: honour has been notably absent from Brent’s leadership for quite some time.

Step aside. Brent deserves better than this.

I've spent months trying to resolve multiple issues around council tax. Somehow, this week, this time I spoke to an incredibly polite and helpful woman who went through my issues one by one and resolved them.

It was late on Thu 23rd, but she took her time. I should have asked her name to thank her specifically, but thank you for sorting everything out.

Parking Charge - Picked up a PCN for parking.
The PayByPhone App was no longer being used despite being displayed to use.
There was no signage directing to use the RingGo app instead, and it was too late when I realised.

Wasted time tying to use the PayByPhone app and subsequently picked up a PCN trying to find out the correct payment methods.

Appealed against the PCN.
The response did not acknowledge the lack of signage for RingGo or anything really except spout the usual robotic BS to hide behind.

Your own evidence when issuing the PCN shows the lack of correct signage.

Took three months to respond to my original appeal, advised 14 days to pay from date of issue, but the letter took ten days in the post.

Really poor response. Lazy. Embarrassing.

Brent Council’s website is extremely frustrating – it constantly asks to link my account, even for simple queries. Customer service is just as bad: calls take forever to connect, and when someone finally answers, they either say it’s not their department or just disconnect. Very poor service for such basic needs.

What a terrible in person customer support team and services. They are unfriendly and arroagant. They look unhappy and doesn't even smile. They always busy talking with each other or checking their phone. The lady who manages them seem very busy yapping. The short guy has been very rude and arrogant coupld of times to people as if we are buggers waiting for our turn. Needs lots of improvements, I would say. We are taxpayers and dont want such kind of treatments.

Waiting times: A simple enquiry takes a minimum of six weeks to receive a reply—utterly unacceptable for a public body funded by taxpayers.

Broken promises: I have spent 12 months trying to set up a direct-debit for my council tax. Despite multiple emails, and online forms, Brent still hasn’t managed—nor even bothered—to do it.

Disrespectful tone: After life threw me a curveball and I fell three months behind on payments, the council sent letters filled with language that was hostile, threatening, and frankly degrading. Their wording sits far below basic standards of courtesy, let alone “British values.”

Exploiting the uninformed: Brent serves a community with many newcomers to the UK who may not yet know their rights. Instead of guiding people, the council appears to rely on intimidation—an abuse of power that no public authority should tolerate.

Lack of accountability: Local papers have already exposed performance issues at Brent, yet nothing changes. The culture of indifference—and sometimes outright contempt—toward residents persists.

Bottom line: Brent Council is not fit for purpose in its current state. If you’ve had a similar experience, raise your voice. Don’t be afraid to file a formal complaint. Only collective pressure will force Brent to treat residents with the respect we deserve.

I had a valid parking permit and a PCN was issued while my parking permit was valid. Why are these traffic officers issuing PCNs without checking, and then having us waste our time contesting them? Absolutely horrendous.

Title: Brent Council and CDER Group are pushing residents into debt

I was late on my Council Tax last year because their phone lines didn’t work and the website kept crashing. When I finally got through, I paid everything I owed and started paying monthly again.

Months later, they said I still owed for the same period and added penalties. Then they passed my case to CDER Group, who added £75 more — and now they say I owe over £581 or they’ll come take my belongings.

This is harassment. I paid what I owed. How is this fair? Brent Council is punishing residents instead of supporting them. This system feels more like extortion than public service.

There is one phrase that describes living in Brent 'urban ghetto' . For 10 years i have been trying to get out by way house exchange but nobody wants to come to brent from a decent area. Complete lack of community spirit from neighbours who do not speak to each other. The local council is only interested in revenue collection, approving building of tower blocks without any regard for welfare of residents

embarrassingly awful experience with brent council. continually sending me threatening letters regarding council tax payments however as a student i am exempt. their communications skills are the only thing worse than my experience with them

The customer service - no one answers???

My intercom issue has been open for MONTHS!!!!

I called the office ten times people don’t answer the phone or disconnected it not nice people working there. Not helpful why we should pay to them for no reason?

Reported abandoned car with no plates where kids dealing drugs and no action for x5 weeks! They only know how to enforce penalties on average people! Useless! Shame i can't give 0 rating!

Made a mistake. Drove in the wrong place. Did I get a notification? No. Did I then get charged £515 by Marston Recovery yes. I have contacted Brent Council. Zero response.

This is the worst council by far. It is even a struggle to purchase a resident permit online. I have also never seen anyone cleaning the roads. It is so complicated to work with them.

Brent- council from the leader (Mohammed Butt) recent scandal from FA Wembley of £6K bribe to the Councillors along with Directors and officers are all Corrupt.

Bribe and scamming private landlords are their top priority by giving them lower/ Wrong figures especially for emergency accommodation while the entire country is on housing crisis. They do this so the council can make more money form each individual through government. hence, charging for every single service they can to make money from public for the council.

The good example is Planning, all useless officers and takes 2-3 months per application to get an answers. (Need extra case officers)

In addition, housing officers goes to individual private landlords to give them lower offers and later demanding for their own pocket money/bribe to increase prices of their nightly paid rent if they discuss with the directors.

Spoke to few individuals, the entire councils jobs works based on favouritism, conflict of interest and it is all about who you know.

The structure is so smart that the Whites bring their own white people to make them directors, the blacks hire their own individual while the Indians bring their own Indians and not to forget the Leader has taken over most departments by bringing his entire far family to keep his position to where he’s at.

Lastly, All the directors within Brent-council thinks they are above the law and do not meet with individuals and as usual running their scam schemes/business. In any situation they do not try to meet individual regardless of how important individual situation can be. It is their responsibility/duty if any person wants to meet them, they should not be able to deny or refuse to see them. Pathetic behaviour from the crooks.

A friend had his number plate cloned and started to receive PCN's from London councils. He got crime reference numbers and a report from DVLA confirming the cloning. It can clearly be seen in the pictures that the can is a different spec to his and when he sent all the info to the councils they cancelled the PCN's. All apart from BRENT COUNCIL that for some reason didn't cancel the charge and instead escalated it and clamped his van, costing him £625. He is also classed as vulnerable person and this is affecting his health and well being.
The evidence is irrefutable and BRENT COUNCIL's inept handling of the situation is quite staggering and they will be pursued to refund the money.
