Great Safety Tech
Really happy to own one of these.
One of my bikes - BMW CE04 - has really low rear lights. Thought this would really enhance my safety on this bike.
The extra weight is totally unnoticeable.
I think it is priced well; some people think it is expensive. I disagree - how much is your life worth?

Have not even a chance to use them!
First - I did not realise that I would have to pay £46+ of VAT added to the price in the U.K. plus shipping costs! Then, the first attachment, even though was fine with the template (which is bigger that the mount) hit the bottine if the helmet and did not lock into place. The 2nd did not fit right. I went to order more a the cost with shipment for a cheap item was 2 times the cost of the item so £46! Plus I will have to pay VAT! Did not even get a chance to use yet. I am not sure what I will do as I do not have a mount! I guess I have to spend more money! Crazy!!

Thank you for your feedback, and I truly apologize for the frustration you've experienced with your Brake Free purchase.
Regarding the VAT and shipping costs, as we are based in the Netherlands, UK customers are therefore subject to VAT charges which are collected by your local delivery agent on behalf of UK tax authorities due to EU-UK regulations post-Brexit. Therefore, no VAT is applied at checkout, which, as you noticed, lowers the total initial cost. We understand a situation wherein the surprise surcharge come right before the delivery can be frustrating, especially when expecting that the shipping fees would normally include these handling fees and VAT.
I’m sorry to hear about the fitment issues with the mounts. While the template is designed to ensure accurate placement, it seems the fit with your specific helmet model didn’t work as expected. We offer XL mounts specifically for helmets with unique shapes or features, which might help with fitment issues. I can arrange for a replacement mount to be sent to you, and we will cover the shipping to help offset the inconvenience.
In terms of future orders, we’re always working to reduce shipping costs, and I understand the frustration with paying high fees for smaller items. If you decide to order again, I’d be happy to explore potential shipping discounts or alternatives.

O acompanhamento pos encomenda e durante a entrega e a sinceridadeno atraso da disponibilidade do produto.
Relativamente ao produto , a total adaptacao ao capacete depende do modelo do capacete(curvatura e saliencias aerodinamicas). parece funcionar bem embora o botao de ligar e mudar modo de luz seja por vezes dificil de funcionar, particlarmente com as luvas calçadas . As instruções deveriam ter 1 explicação mais detalhada dos diversos modos de luz, sugestoes de escolha de cada modo e como passar de 1 a outro. Em tudo resto parece-me muito bem. Já me pediram 3xs para indicar como comorar

However, as we spoke prior to your complaint I would've thought that you were made aware and was kept up to date with the current tracking status which was provided to you. I'm sorry to hear that my understandings of the situation fell short of what you'd hoped to receive of the overall customer service and your shopping experience with Brake Free Tech EU.
I checked the records and it appears your items were delivered on the same day you contacted us, which hopefully brought some relief! However, I appreciate that the anticipation might have built up during the wait. Typically, transit times from the Netherlands to the UK are impacted with customs handlings to calculate the duties, VAT and fees. However I understand the frustration of having to initially wait for your pre-order to be finally shipped out to you, only to be confronted with yet another 20-some days for the cross-over the canal. I can completely say that it is ridiculous that your parcel took such a long time to get properly delivered to you and I'm sorry for any inconvenience this might've caused.

I’m very happy with the stop light
I’m very happy with the stop light. I feel much more noticed, especially at night, and of course I feel much safer.
It’s very easy to use, everything feels intuitive, and the battery lasts really really long. Also they have very friendly customer service.

Unfortunately there seems to be no…
Unfortunately there seems to be no official UK based importer. So I had to buy from the EU, and of course the delivery tax and import fees made the cost of the unit very high indeed! In the US this product is on sale for around $150, which is £116. But in order to get the product shipped to the UK, it cost me over £220!!! It is a great product and I am happy with it, but it's not a £220 item...

This is an update to previous review. Joao at brake free has been mega helpful in trying to sort out a mounting solution for my nexx x.wed2 helmet. Customs foul up stops it being 5 star but I'm a lot happier now. Cancer is currently preventing riding but tests of brake free inside the house have gone well.
