I received the plant in only 9 days…
I received the plant in only 9 days from shipping. From Naples Italy to Thailand. It was very securely fitted into tube box, in the pot with soil. I was afraid it would be confiscated by Customs, but came through with no issue. I only had to pay about $9.00 import tax. Normal here. They have a VAT on everything imported. Leaves were shot, but I pulled them off and the plant is ready to leaf out again. Brighamia insignis.

Naples to Thailand in nine days is about as good as it gets, and we are relieved it travelled well.
Losing the leaves in transit is normal for Brighamia insignis and not a bad sign at all: as long as the stem is firm, the plant will push a new rosette from the crown. While it recovers, keep it warm and in bright light, water sparingly and make sure the pot drains freely — the one thing this species will not forgive is a wet stem base, especially in a humid climate. Once new leaves appear you can go back to a normal watering routine.
It is a plant worth the patience: Brighamia insignis is considered extinct in the wild in Hawaii and survives only in cultivation, so every well-grown specimen counts.
On customs: all our international shipments travel with the required phytosanitary documentation, which is why parcels usually clear without trouble. Import duties and local taxes are set by the destination country and are always payable by the recipient, as you correctly noted.
Thank you for such a useful review — it will help other growers outside Europe know what to expect.

Excellent service from Botanical Archive. I ordered some Giant Gunnera manicata seeds and was very impressed with how efficiently my order was processed. The seeds arrived quickly, were well packaged, and the whole experience was professional from start to finish. A fast, reliable service and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them again. Highly recommended!

Correttezza e serietà
This is not my first contact and ordered items, always a positive experience, very fast shipping, and excellent packaging. With the last order, for which there were some discrepancies, Botanical Archive responded by phone just 10 minutes after receiving my email, and within 2 days they replaced a small part of the order at absolutely no cost to me. I would like to thank the manager again for their kindness and fairness. Francesco Toniato

Cordiali saluti,
