This is a scam website. Every review is fake. I know this because they have written reviews purporting to be about our guesthouse - and others nearby - and we didn't have OTA bookings during the period we had reviews, so it was impossible to have these. Also, virtually every review is written in poor English and with basic knowledge of the area which, if investigated, prove false. For example, advising that there is excellent dining at a restaurant ten minutes away (a caravan park!).
Don't book through this company or hotelmix.co.uk. Or give the hotel/B&B a ring to check before booking (advisable anyhow).
The company has responded to my comment, but it doesn't hasn't answered the issue about fake reviews. When I spoke to a representative from this company, I was told that Booking.com has provided the link to our guesthouse, but Booking.com denies this. However, regardless of whether they work with another OTA, I would still strongly advise that you do not use a company that creates fake reviews. I have contacted trading standards about this.

Nightmare at Labranda Playa Club.
I booked two apartments with booked.net at Labranda Playa Club, Lanzarote. The first room was a two bedroom apartment booked in my name for four people the second was a one room apartment booked for a single individual in their name. When we arrived at the apartment complex we were told that two single apartments were booked in my name and there was no record of the second booking. We tried to contacted booked.net on arrival (Friday) to get help but there was no telephone reply so email’s were sent both by our party and the apartment reception staff but there was no response until the following Wednesday. We have since exchanged emails with booked.net asking for a refund for the single bedroom apartment that wasn’t booked but haven’t had a satisfactory response. Fortunately we booked by credit card and are pursuing a refund through the credit card company.
Supplementary: booked.net have issued the appropriate refund, therefore although the booking was very poorly executed it wasn’t a scam.

Zahlung nicht weitergeleitet
Obwohl ich schon 2 Wochen vor Reiseantritt an booked.net bezahlt hatte, gab es bei Ankunft im Hotel in Jerusalem keinen Zahlungseingang, sodass das Hotel zunächst eine weitere Zahlung wollte. Erst nach heftigen Beschwerde-Mails hat sich booked.net darum gekümmert. So möchte man keinen Urlaub beginnen!!!!!

I daren't open the attachments and have cancelled my bank card.

Hotelsuche Köln.
Während der Auswahl auf getcolognehotels.com keine Auffälligkeiten festgestellt. Im Buchungsprozess machte mich bereits die Zahlung in US$ sowie vorgesehene Abbuchungen innerhalb der kostenfreien Stornofrist bis einen Tag vor Anreise stutzig.
"Dies ist ein in € berechneter voraussichtlicher Preis. Die Zahlung erfolgt in der Währung der Unterkunft (US$). Der Wechselkurs kann sich bis zum Zeitpunkt der Zahlung ändern."
Eine augenscheinlich deutsche Website, ein Hotel in Deutschland, Preis in EURO soll ich in US$ zahlen? Vlt. noch zzgl. Fremdwährungsgebühr ... Zahlung mit PayPal wird angeboten, aber Gesamtbetrag sofort fällig.
Kein wirkliches Impressum, AGB's na ja, Telefonnummer in Übersee, auf der Suche nach Infos und paar Klicks -back to the roots.
Ich habe die Buchung rein nach Gefühl nicht abgeschlossen, kann daher ohne Ergebnis und Folgen nicht abschliessend beurteilen wie seriös oder unseriös dieses Vermittlungsgeschäft ist.
Gut möglich dass ich mein Hotelzimmer in paar Wochen hätte beziehen können, aber warum etwas riskieren wenn es diverse andere, transparentere Vermittler gibt.
Gleichen Buchungsblauf konnte ich bei zwei weiteren Domains testen. Whois Abfragen bringen nicht wirklich Licht ins Dunkel des Betreibers. Zypern, USA, GB, Island ...
Möchte niemand von einer Buchung abhalten. Soll jeder für sich entscheiden ... ;-)

Lieber Verfasser der Antwort,
es ist sicher keine Bequemlichkeit, wenn ich mir in der BRD, auf einer sehr deutsch bezogenen Website, ein Hotel in einer deutschen Stadt buchen möchte. EUR waren mir sogar schon vorgegeben und habe auch nichts anderes erwartet. Erst recht keine Zahlung in USD mit evtl. zusätzlichen Kreditkartengebühren.
Selbst für das Hotel normal wirtschaflich durch Währungsschwankungen ein Verlust Zahlungen vom Kunden in USD zu verlangen, denn eigene laufende Verbindlichkeiten werden in EUR getätigt! Vom Aufwand mit deutscher Umsatzsteuer ganz zu schweigen.
Das die Zahlung nach Zypern geht, ist durch das fehlende Impressum nicht sofort festzustellen. Der Empänger "Ciliara Trading Limited" ist vermutlich auch der für den buchenden rechtliche Vertragspartner. Nicht das Hotel! Erwähnung findet das keine irgendwo. Genauso wenig wie die einfachsten Angaben in den AGB's.
Das Hotel hat sicherlich an einen Hotelbrooker Kontingente zu Preis xxx vermarktet. Käuferin ist vermutlich Ciliara Trading Limited und versucht diese auf verschiedensten Domains an den Mann/Frau zu bringen.
Da der Buchende so dann ein Hotelzimmer für Deutschland vom Ausland kauft hat sich das mit der deutschen MwSt. auch erledigt. Gibts dann nämich keine. Schlecht wenn er z.B. eine Rechnung für's Finanzamt braucht. Hotel brauch keine Rechnung ausstellen, denn das Hotelzimmer wurde ja ohne MwSt. ins Ausland verkauft.
Wie dieses Geschäftsmodell genau abläuft wissen vlt. nur die beteiligten. Zypern ist kein so schlechter Finanzplatz um mit wirtschafts- und/oder steuerrechtlichen Tricks Geld zu machen.
Kann dem buchenden in seinem Hotelzimmer auch egal sein wenn alles gut geht ...
Würde aber im Gegensatz zum oben geschriebenen von einer Buchung eher abraten, auch wenn ich bei einem Zimmerpreis bei direkter Buchung im Hotel von fast 100,00 EUR eine Ersparnis von 27,00 EUR hatte.
Zwei von den 3 Sternen ziehe ich wegen dem intransparenten Buchungsprozess und unklaren Vertragsverhältnis noch ab.
Einer noch dazu wegen dem wirklich guten Angebotspreis. Kann ohne Festbuchung nicht sagen ob es so geblieben wäre.

Company gains business by deception and overcharges
We had the same experience as other reviewers here. We were trying to book a hotel on its own website for a 70th birthday trip, without going through a booking agency. We thought we had found the correct website, and when the acknowledgement of the booking arrived from booking.net, we assumed that this was a payment system used by the hotel. It was only the day before travel that we noticed that the price for the room was 40% higher than we expected. (We'll be more careful in future). At least we had a booking. When we got to the hotel, they informed us that the booking had actually been made through expedia. I emailed booking.net after we got back and also phoned them them but they flatly refused to refund any of this clearly fraudulently obtained commission.
We were not careful enough when making our booking, but this company is clearly using deception to gain business and should be avoided at all costs.

Booked a guesthouse 2 weeks in advance.
When I arrived the guesthouse was closed.
Called the number attached and the woman said there was no booking under my name or my booking reference number. She asked me to send her a copy of my booking to a WhatsApp number. Her number did not work. I asked her to WhatsApp me and I would respond, she did not. She refused to give me an email to send it. 5 mins later she told me the guesthouse was full and there was nothing she could do for me. I had to find another place stay last minute (not cheap in June in the Algarve). Since then I have emailed and called booked.net and got no response. Do not use this company.
