Live in care with Bluebird Care
This is the fourth occasion that we have used Bluebird Care as a live in support system for my mother whilst we were on holiday.
From the initial planning visits to the choosing of a carer , we were kept in touch about everything. The carer Zulene was lovely and got on very well with my Mother and it was good that she was able to meet my mother before the care plan began .

Despicable company policies
Despicable company policies! Charging clients when they have to stay in hospital, want 28 days cancellation notice and will override a discharge nurse decision about how much care a palliative patient needs to suit their greedy policies!!! Look around as other care agencies are a lot more flexible. Carers (Daniella, Rita, Michelle, Maria D., Joanna & and many others) however, have been amazing.
To the response from today 31.7.24, that is a total lie about informing clients from the outset with regards to the hospital charges. Is there no end??? Are you seriously trying to let people believe that in your initial meeting with a new client you actually inform them of charging them if they have to stay or if they end up dying in hospital??? I would love to be a witness to that conversation!! No sane person would agree to this! But then you would take advantage of the elderly and frail like it was done with my parents. We were certainly not informed of that charge! We found this out afterwards! I cannot believe you are still trying to justify this charge when other care agencies do not charge this. Your charges are so extremely high that you should be able to cover your staff wages as hospital visits are not always planned, that is the nature of your business.
With regards to flexibility, you know exactly what I was referring to. You have read my emails. This was about how you only offer hourly slots and not 30 min or even 45 min slots like other agencies do. Not even to a person who was coming home with a palliative care package. Blue Bird tried to change this arrangement to suit their greedy policies.
Your response is so repulsive and insulting and I am so glad I never agreed to meet with you, Ms Fairchild

Thank you for your comments and we are sorry you are disappointed in our policies that were clear in the terms and conditions you agreed to. You have commented on the fantastic quality of our care teams and the reason we charge is so that we can continue to pay our care team when our customers go into hospital. In our experience, customers want to retain the same care team when they get discharged from hospital and our policies are to protect staff salaries whilst their regular customers are not at home. We do offer our customers to continue their care and have their carers visit them whilst in hospital; so we do feel there is flexibility. We are very clear before starting any service to outline these terms and as a company that wishes to retain and develop our best and brightest staff our policies are designed to aid us in doing this.
