Blu Dot Poor Quality and Poor Customer Service
About 4 years ago I furnished a good potion of my house with Blu Dot furniture. At the time, I believed the items I bought to be good quality at a fair price backed by the Blu Do brand. Now 4 years later many of the items I bought are broken even after light use. Specifically, the Real Good Chair. I have 11 and 3 have broken at the seams. The Field Chair I bought never looked fully stuffed and now looks completely deflated. I used it as a bedroom chair so it was only used a few time a year. I have called customer service about these items and a few others but because the replacement window has closed they refuse to do anything to help. This includes sending new chair parts to fix the broken chairs. I do not recommend buying furniture from Blu Dot it simply won't last.

Only one thing that needs to be assembled (so should be a simple, high confidence, on-line purchase): Great.
That one thing is the seat attached to the stool. Requires four holes in seat to line up with four holes in stool. Should be simple.
But the holes do not line up at all; they are not even close!
The most rudimentary QC program would have discovered this before shipping.
There is not a lot to check here!!
It was sloppy, negligent, process overseen and sponsored by Bludot.
So be careful before you buy from them
Worst service ever
Worst service ever. Besides not getting a call back from customer service there delivery service did not show up. I am still trying to get the item delivered.

Delays, delays, and more delays...
I came to write a review about what we are currently experiencing after responding to an email confirming a second delay (received after texting them, because we didn't receive any communication letting us know the issue), and I actually saw that there's a lot of people experiencing exactly the same situation we are currently going through.
Won't make this much longer, but as you can see from this and many other experiences, fabrication & delivery times are really bad.
I haven't received the furniture yet, so I can't evaluate the quality of it, but even if it arrives in great condition (which I'm starting to doubt after reading some comments), I definitely won't recommend buying anything they don't have in stock at the moment of making the purchase.

If I could give 1 star I would. It started out fine with promises that the rest of my shipment would come in September. Well, here we are, no shipment, no communication and no refund. The best bit was that my paid for furniture went to a more important client. Never again. I’ve emailed and called. No response.
Horrible Customer Service
I ordered 98” Esker sofa from them. It came fully assembled and didn’t fit into my building’s elevator. The delivery guys told me it happens with this particular size sofa all the time! When I called Blu Dot and explained to them what happened they said, it’s all your fault which is somewhat true however I said that I would like to order smaller version if they don’t charge me 10% return fee which wasn’t technically a return since it was never deliver to me and I already lost $200 I paid for shipping. They said nope, not happening. Would I ever buy anything from them or recommend this place to anyone, absolutely NOT!
I got broken the ac this early summer
I got broken the ac this early summer, calle blue dot, they sent a tech, who said compressor was bad and needed a replacement, he encourage us to buy a new ac, give an appointment the same day ( saturday) , Maria came and offered us a new ac or a new system, i needed to think about it
My binder from blue dot ( from the installation) stated, we had warranty for ac 10 years , for furnace : 20 years . I sent this info to them and they agreed to give me warranty in one week, for 1700 as labor.

3 months delay and no updates unless you chase them
Paid 4k+ for a table which is already 3 months late and instead of sending me weekly updates or apology notes, I am having to chase them for an update. Every time i call them they act surprised which is hilarious. Worst experience ever. I’ll never ever buy anything else from Bludot. To put things into perspective, in 3 months for 4k, i’d have paid a plane ticket fly to portugal get a custom table made and sent it via container myself and it would have taken shorter time!

We had a sofa break while it was under warranty. Customer service was wonderful to work with and promptly sent a replacement. I'm not sure why the other reviews are so negative here, but Blu Dot gave me the best customer service of any furniture store I have worked with (including Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn and West Elm). Very impressed.
Crappy finish!
I ordered a Bar height strut table the end of 2021 Navy Blue color waited for the order to be made over 6 weeks that is expected, however, this table shows every mark and I noticed it was not sealed properly when I was dusting it (I NEVER use any type of sprays on this piece) one of the side pieces paint is bubbling and now starting to rust. Again, I’ve only used microfiber dusting clothes on this table. So disappointed in the final quality and how poor the finish work is.
Chair Order
Ordered six chairs for a table, and two stools for the eat-in kitchen counter. Stools were back ordered. Chairs were not.
Blue Dot (BD) holds shipping until everything in the entire order is on hand. Due to the stools being back ordered, BD was holding our order. What BD doesn't tell you is that they will provide one split ship per order. If you call and ask. Not the best customer service approach, but they are trying to limit shipping costs to them.
Overall, the chairs were in good shape. The stools appeared to be returns. A lot of scuffs. Granted, the stools are covered in suede, but still unfortunate.
Think about BD before ordering. Longer wait times for orders, only will split ship if you know to ask, and quality is hit or miss.
Buyers Beware: Customer Service Challenges
Buyers beware... read other reviews...customer service at Blue Dot is not what you would expect. We spent months trying to find outdoor furniture that met our style. We had perviously purchased lamps for Blue Dot and were attracted to their modern and sophisticated styles. Our house guests always asked where we got the lamps and we consistently told people to check out Blue Dot. We live in DC so we went into the store in Georgetown to check out the Perch collection and loved it. The staff let us know a sale of outdoor furniture was coming up the following week so we waited to purchase the outdoor furniture then. A few days after placing the order we noticed the lounge chair included in the order showed it was a different price online then when we placed the order and it was on back order. I called customer service to address the price discrepancy and back order information. Blue Dot customer service said our chair was not on back order and that they cannot recreate the issue on the website (as I was on the website on multiple devices) but if I sent a screenshot they would match the price. I sent the screenshot of the website immediately after the call. Customer service wrote back a day later... conveniently the website was updated with the price we paid and the information on being on back order was removed. More interesting is that all of the furniture in the order was marked down by 40% except the chair. We haven't even received the order but the entire experience has just left us feeling really disappointed that we chose Blue Dot because we don't trust the organization. When someone now asks where we got the outdoor furniture... we will tell them we got it at Blue Dot but don't purchase anything from them...its not worth it.
Mediocre Furniture at Premium Prices
I purchased their cloud sofa, which they call "Sunday" along with the ottoman. It looked great initially but after regular use it started to show how cheap it was. The fabric is not durable at all and the cushions do not hold their shape.

My struglles with Blue Dot began over a year ago when I had a heat pump istalled and realized that I couldn't get pull the filter out of the unit to change it. Blue Dot sent a technician out and billed me $29 when it was clearly their error. I contacted Blue Dot July 5 to get them to conduct a yearly service call on the two HVAC units they installed. Today it is July 14, and they never conducted the yearly service call on the one unit. On the other system, they sent out a salesperson. I didn't need a salesperson to come out. He asked me why he was there. I was told there was a mix up in Blu Dot's system where both units were combined into one order. Eventulally, a technican came out after constant calling. I was charged a service fee of $118. Was the work done? No. I called Home Depot to compalin about their poor customer service. Keep in mind, eveytime I called, I was told I must pay the service fee. Today is July 14, a technician arrived to "check" the system. This time a service fee of $353.00 was charged. I was told that a dianostic was performed but I was not told about this in advance. What I was constantly told about was the service call fee of $118. Also, Blu Dot told me that they do not "deal" with tenants. They don't go to houses where there is a lock box and no one is home. If you own rental properties or if you can not have someone other than a tenant meet them there, they will give you a very hard time. It is terrible. What was the cost of this repair work? The total cost: $2,021.00. When did I purchase this unit from them? 2022. Suffice to say, I will never purchase anything from them again.
Difficult Returns and Unfriendly Policies
I ordered the Turn Tall side table and it arrived broken. It was poorly packaged and the heavy base was not secured in the box so the stem broke away from the top. I called Blu Dot and opted for a refund, including shipping. They only issued a partial shipping refund because the order contained a pillow (that was only ordered because I ordered the table). I called and after much wrangling, was issued a full shipping refund.
I wanted to let folks know about their policies for returns, since the information I received from customer service is not posted on the website:
The charge for the item was posted to my account on the order date even though they state their policy is to charge when shipped. This means you pay for interest from that day forward.
Returns may take 1-2 weeks to process AFTER the item is received by their returns department. Again, you are paying interest while all this "processing" takes place. Not ideal for returns, but particularly egregious when an item is received damaged.
Customer service was ok. I had to make 2 calls and the agent was gatekeeping. She finally went to her manager and I received the full credit (not sure why they would jeopardize future sales for $15).
In addition, they sent a follow up email arguing with me about the date I was charged, even though I provided screen caps, and spent a paragraph explaining how credit card interest and pending/posted statuses work.
If FedEx is the shipper, you do have to make your own pick up arrangements. This is stated on the website but is just poor policy. I recently had a return from another company and they arranged pickup for a much cheaper, smaller item.
Beautifully designed products but won't purchase again unless they offer in store or ship to store purchases. It's just too risky and takes too much of my time.
Horrible Customer Service and Return Policy
While the furniture is beautiful, the site is horrible to navigate around. They need to offer sizing at the selection area where colors and materials are selected. Was trying to order counter stools and ended up with the bar stools (because they show the same product twice on the same page of the website so it was very confusing) I can imagine many customers making the same mistake we did if they did not look at the item carefully and just wanting to check out for a specific style of furniture.
We are so incredibly unhappy with how customer service handled it. Had to get charged 10% restocking fee and they wouldn't honor waiving the shipping. There is no exchange policy. The site is really horrible to navigate. Now we're even debating on even re-ordering at this point. Huge disappointment with our first experience with blu dot. Huge huge huge disappointment with this company.
Customer service is rude
Customer service is rude. I reached with an issue with the hardware on my console and was told that the fingerprints that were on the piece when we opened the box were from contact with the air and that I needed to buy a brass product to clean this brand new piece of furniture. Then when the second piece arrived the hardware was nicer so I thought easy fix I could exchange the console hardware. WRONG! They questioned how well I cleaned the hardware and why I didn’t reach back out sooner. They talked me like I did something wrong. Only thing I did wrong was buying more furniture from them — Horrible customer service

If I had known how utterly frustrating it is to work with this company I would have never used them.If you want to wait at least six months for your sofa and Then hope to receive it from the shipping company have at it. I would NEVER order from this company again. I waited over 5 months for a sofa. Was told it was delivered to the warehouse to be delivered on august 11 YET it won’t be delivered to me until sept 16!!! And quite honeslty I don’t even have faith it will come when they say.
Seriously. It’s beyond. And after reading other reviews I am not an isolated case. Someone needs to get control of this company and fix it !!!!
Loved my Blu Dot products 10/10 on price/quality match.
I recently furnished an entire 2 bedroom Brooklyn apartment from scratch and Blu Dot was one of the best experiences.
They had timely order fulfillment and the overall product quality was great! I felt everything was well worth the price.
Especially want to note that the Li'l Something Side Tables, which are wood+metal were so easy to put together and are super stable. They will be easy to disassemble and move and I will probably keep them forever.
So often these nouveau online brands have good marketing and design but, then you get some piece of furniture that had zero quality control and you feel like you got scammed.
Rest assured Blu Dot can be trusted, they will leave you with a great fully functional piece of furniture.
