This is a natural process where moisture can travel through or along porous materials such as timber, particularly during periods of prolonged or heavy rainfall. As timber is a breathable material, it can absorb and transfer moisture in certain environmental conditions.

We would also note that the late 2025 period saw particularly prolonged and heavy wet weather conditions, which can increase moisture exposure and contribute to situations such as this.

We would like to reassure you that this does not indicate a fault with the workmanship or installation. Our sheds are built and installed in line with industry standards, including the correct fitting of roofing felt to protect against direct water ingress.

To help reduce the likelihood of moisture build-up, we recommend increasing ventilation within the shed (for example by adding vents), opening windows and doors when conditions are dry, avoiding storing items directly against the walls or roof panels, and applying appropriate timber treatments where necessary.
