Customer service is all of sudden absolutely horrendous. Going days or weeks between replies, promising callbacks which never arrived, ignoring requests to reprint their mistakes, sending my home address to our customers, and not getting correct answers several times over...is completely unacceptable.
EDIT TO RESPOND: if that were true, this review wouldn’t have been necessary. We sent 8 emails and 4 phone calls to your customer service team without receiving answers.

Reliable, responsive, fast, affordable
I've used Bay Photo for several years, after becoming serious about printing affordably. I've found Bay Photo to be a quality printer ... responsive, helpful, fast and quite affordable. Customer service once reprinted photos for me at no charge and worked with me to verify my home lighting to address color issues, when in fact it was likely my fault the print turned out badly. The care they take in packing even the most basic prints for shipping is impressive. I will say that I find their print-ordering software, Bay ROES, clumsy and outdated, with a UI that appears like something out of the early 2000s. Still, I will continue to work with it. Bay Photo customer service, print quality and delivery in my experience has been consistently very good, and the prints they provide are likely the best anyone can do with this novice's submissions.
Despite having different sizes selected…
Despite having different sizes selected for a group of 16 prints I was instead provided with 16 identically cut photos which cropped some of the needed details of the photos. On top of this my higher quality fine art large prints had an error where one was cut slightly shorter than the other making it not fit the frame. Additionally the photos had creasings.

They were good before....sad.
I don't want to waste a lot of time writing this. My first experience in 2020 with this company was awesome. I came back to order another print on June 9, 2023. I placed my order...and waited...and waited. I logged in several times to check to see if it has been processed. Zero communication. Nothing. Today, September 12, I logged in to cancel my order just so I don't eventually get charged for something I will print elsewhere. Sad. They were so good before.
Delivering damaged prints. Professionals should look elsewhere
In the past, Bay Photo was great and my go-to printing service. While there was usually one or two prints that needed reprinting due to damage during packing (Which was always annoying), they always reprinted fast and I've always had great customer service. This time, however, they changed shipping methods to tubes instead of flat... Every one of my 17 large prints was damaged... creased and crinkled from the rolling and jamming into the tube. This is unacceptable. I'll be asking for a refund as this was a large order and I'm now unable to meet my deadline for my upcoming hanging due to this. I'll be finding a different lab that truly values the delivered and final condition of prints. If you're a professional or just somebody who needs undamaged prints, look elsewhere. It's extremely disappointing they've fallen this far in the QC department.
I'd like to edit this review by stating that BayPhoto has handled the issue with some fantastic customer support. While I will be using a different vendor for my future artwork needs, I do commend that BayPhoto does everything they can to make things right with the customer, and that is a pretty rare thing these days.
Problems define a company
I've been using Bay Photo for years now for both personal and business prints. I've always been very satisfied with their product and have no problem recommending them.
Recently, I ordered a metal print for a client with nothing special added. It was printed and delivered within a week's time, which was sooner than expected. The problem was, the print was damaged during packing with the finish flaking off an edge where it was strapped. The rounded edges I ordered were also not featured.
A quick 10 minute discussion with customer service resulted in a remake of the piece and it being expedited. They estimated the delivery in a week.
The delivery was actually two days late, but for some reason UPS had the package longer this second time. It was not a Bay Photo issue. The new print arrived perfect and I was able to deliver to my client in a reasonable time frame.
It is how a company handles issues that defines them. I think that Bay Photo handled this very well, and I'm satisfied with the end product.
terrible customer service
terrible customer service. it seems as though their CS doesn't care to work through issues with their customers. they very clearly list production times, but then when production times are not met (usually not even met within a few days of their stated lead time) and we reach out to ask where our order is, their only response is production times are not guaranteed, and there is nothing they can do. Such a bummer becuase we've been happy with the final product, but the other factors are not worth it and we've had to let down our clients who were expecting their orders within a certain time frame.

I have used Bay Photo before
I have used Bay Photo before, so when I wanted to print a 40 x 60" canvass luster print with a Wedge Float Frame I returned. I first sent a photo and asked if it would be pixelated at that size. They said it would be pixelated, so I ran it through Topaz Gigapixel and sent that copy. I couldn't be more pleased. It was processed by Bay Photo within days, packed in plastic, then a custom cardboard box, finally encased in a wooden box that arrived in perfect shape. The colors are great with very sharp features even at this large size.
What a Disappointment
What a Disappointment. I've ordered several metallic prints from Bayphoto and they have always been attentive to getting it right. Not this time. I had to ask for a reprint because although I paid and asked them to be careful to make sure it doesn't print too dark (I checked the histogram etc.) it printed very dark. When I spoke about a reprint I expressly said - the bottom is perfect, so no lighting there - but did they listen. No. Of course not. The bottom of the photo (water) is so blown out it's just bright in several spots rending the image just awful. Time to find another printer.
Underexposed and muted colors on one print
I ordered 3 prints and paid 2-day shipping. It took almost 2 weeks to get them. 2 of those 3 turned out okay but the third is horrendous. Muted colors and way underexposed. Unless this gets fixed, this review stays up and I won’t use them again.

They use to be good
They use to be good. I ordered 2 mental prints of different pictures. They printed the same picture twice. I called and the customer service person said they works make the one they didn’t make. I explained the quality was terrible. I have waited 3 weeks and went a week calling and sitting on hold to be told they cancel the order. No refund or remake.
The best lab, hands down
I use Bay Photo whenever I need the very best outcome. They are a bit more expensive but well worth it. They do beautiful work, customer service is first rate.
I sell my photos online and I trust their drop ship service to deliver professional results.
Shipments are extremely well packaged.
I have some specific requirements at times and they never fail. There was an error once and they re-did the order without charge in record time.
I trust them, you should too.
Problems with metal prints from Bay Photo fading within 10 years.
More than 10 years ago my wife and I were impressed with the vibrant colors printing on metal could produce and we used Bay Photo to print dozens of our photographs which we displayed & sold at art shows and festivals mostly in Southern California. At the time, we were impressed with Bay Photos's prompt service and the quality of their printiing. Unfortunately, several years ago many of the unsold metal prints we kept in our studio began to fade with significant changes in some colors. We made an effort to keep the prints out of direct sunlight and they were hung on indoor walls under ordinary indoor lighting conditions. I suppose when printing companies seek to develop archival inks that are supposed to last 100 years, there isn't any way to know for sure if they really will hold up that long. Only time can really tell how resistant the pigments are to changes through the years. It is clear to us that the pigments used by Bay Photo were not up to the task and we no longer have our images printed on metal. So far, there have been no complaints from our metal print buying customers but I fear they will also find the colors fade and are no longer true to the originals. I have before and after images of the fading
problem but don't know how to transfer them to this review.
Bay photo used to be the absolute best…
Bay photo used to be the absolute best lab to get what you what when you need it. The past two times I used Bay photo, they have disappointed me with with not having their products produced in the time they quote on their website. Speaking to their customer service rep makes me realize they must have some serious issues there as they don’t want to get involved with finding orders or helping the process other than “flagging” the order. (Meaningless) when I told the agent that I was disappointed that Bay photo hasn’t delivered in the way they used to, she said that she was hanging up on me.
Well. That’s the last time I use this company.

Getting good customer service is like pulling teeth. Had calibration issues and no one has called me back to fix them. Also, it seems as if they do not like giving refunds even if you are not satisfied. The stuff I got back from them was actually horrible. Not cool whatsoever...

100% confidence in Bay Photo
I have been buying prints on paper, metal, canvas, and other mediums through Bay Photo for years now. Only once was I unhappy with their product. It was a test order to try a new item they were selling and the color was very muted due to the material it was printed on. I sent an email just to verify that what I ordered was what they printed. It was, and when I told them why the question was asked they were super quick to offer a full refund, new prints, anything to make it right. I got exactly what I ordered, so I turned down the offer, but had to convince them I really didn't want anything back. Super people, super customer service and other than that one item, everything has been spot on for color rendition. Right now from this computer I am looking at a 50 X 90 print I had them make for me and it is like standing on the edge of the canyon in person again. Super job for the last 8 or 9 years on hundreds of prints that are hanging from living rooms to Doctors offices, Golf course clubhouses to Radio Stations recording studios.
Lousy color
Lousy color. I operate on a calibrated monitor AND I did a test match print on an Canon Pro 100. Metal print from Bay did not match the Canon print and did not match my monitor. Way muted and dull color. Meh. I will use Alumyze again, happy with my 3 prints out of them.

received today and over a 1/2" was cropped out which removed the date on the bottom right side of the uploaded jpg.
I was told by chat that my jpg was 8"x10.667", thus .667" had to be cut off.
I took the jpg picture with a droid phone, so i have no idea if this is correct or not.
The software does not notify of the cropping when ordering, otherwise i could have moved the date over to the left.
Thanks for a nice metal pic... with out the date.
Quality Products and excellent Customer Service
I've ordered several metal prints from Bay Photo Lab and still marvel at how well it lets me present my digital paintings and other artwork. The products are on the pricey side but you will be pleased with the quality when you get it. I've done small prints at about 8x8, several at a 8.5x11 size and a large print at 20x30 inches. I like that they have a sample pack of the 5 different finishes they offer at a pretty reasonable cost, it lets you determine which one will work best for the piece and the space you will have it in. This is important when you're looking at spending a couple hundred dollars on the larger prints. They also have some nice options as far as hardware to hang up the prints which make the work look sleek and clean. The customer service is very good. I've run into times where I've uploaded the wrong file for an order (there is a time you won't be refunded after because of the production..) Luckily, I caught the mistake early and emailed the customer service rep. They worked very quickly and responded to my emails just as quick, enabling us the time to change the file and get the right one printed. Last, the products are packaged well with adequate protection. When your prints are costing you a nice shiny penny, you want to rest assured they wont get damaged along the way, I've found that the packages are well protected with foam sheets, additional padding for bigger prints and backed with cardboard. Overall, I'm very pleased with their product and look forward to using them again.
