Us learning to speak Dog.
Oh my goodness what a learning curve.
Azz came to see us on 1st February as we needed some help understanding our anxious rescue dog Sky.
Sky is very worried about my husband and after 3 years he still can't touch or get close to her. When he walks into a room she will run out!
Azz started by explaining what Sky sees and hears when we approach her. What an eye opener when you see it from Sky's point of view.
By the end of the session he could sit with his back to her right in front of her, Sky stayed laying down and looked relaxed. Absolutely awesome!
We now we have work to do to move this forward, but we are so hopeful and really believe that we will overcome these issues.
It was a pretty full on day with lots of talking and information to take in. The report that followed is great to refer back to.
Also knowing that Azz is available for us to call anytime should we need to is reassuring.
Amazing day with amazing results.

We had Azz over on Friday to help with our GSD. She had issues channelling her excitement, especially on walks. This would lead to barking & lunging at other dogs, along with lots of pulling. Although we knew she wasn’t an aggressive dog and the show was merely the frustration of not being able to play; due to her breed the behaviour would understandably come across very intimidating to other people, who would often avoid her and thus making the issue worse.

Azz spent 4 hours with us, firstly going through an extensive chat about our daily routine with our dog to help best understand what makes her tick. We then went out for a walk, with Azz showing and then giving us a hands on approach as well. The understanding he has of dogs and their behaviour blew my mind! Within 1 walk, our GSD was walking calmly by our side and not a single bark at another dog was heard! She was even able to have a sniff with other dogs due to her calmer approach and even some showed up with her great behaviour!

We now have to follow up and put the work in ourselves but I couldn’t recommended Azz and Back to Balance enough!

We have an amazing Spaniel, who unfortunately is a 'Lockdown Puppy' and didn't get chance to socialise with other people or dogs. What we didn't appreciate is that he was also going through other changes and as owners, we were not giving him the best start in life!
Azz did that magical thing of walking through the door and quieting him down pretty immediately but then went on to deconstruct his behaviour.
My wife and I both having dogs when growing up, thought that taking on a male Spaniel from a working breed, with high energy would not be a problem, oh how wrong we were!
It was clear that we needed a far better knowledge of dog psychology and what Azz managed to deliver to us was amazing. No quick fix I am afraid but an understanding that is taking us along a road-map, that I suspect we are on for the next couple of months and then maintenance thereafter, BUT we are already seeing improvements. However, we are also understanding behaviours which is helpful as it is so easy to superimpose human psychology onto a dog, but so often that is not helpful and ends up in a complete misunderstanding.
We were really impressed with Azz, however, you need to trust and listen carefully to what he says as for difficult dogs it is not an easy journey BUT it is a worthwhile one and we are eternally grateful to Azz.
We have not arrived at the destination yet but feel we are firmly on the way that our lovely dog will integrate to the wider world!

We were so impressed with the session we had. Having a nervous, reactive and very strong GSD did not make walks enjoyable at all. Time was taken to explain why our GSD was the way he was and how we can help. We’ve previously had trainers advise us on how to manage this but it didn’t help, and now we understand why. We are so grateful for the time spent with us and our dog to understand what we need to do to help him. Would highly recommend as we are seeing a difference just after 4 hours - unbelievable!

We can’t thank Azz enough; he is extremely knowledgeable and a lovely friendly man who educated us on the psychology behind the problems we were encountering with our 3 dogs. Our dogs have had a few scary spats recently between them and now we understand why, and we are relieved that we can do something to change their behaviour towards each other. What Azz told us was really fascinating, and at the same time shocking to us, that we were so uneducated even after having dogs for 20+ years.

With a few small changes our boys were calm and relaxed in their own space that same evening that Azz visited and over the past week, there have definitely been notable differences in their behaviour. There is still some way to go however I am sure the boys will be happier, and our lives will be much richer with well-behaved and calmer dogs. We would most definitely recommend Azz and although we booked the 4-hour timeslot he was not rushing to leave once the time was up which speaks volumes and suggests that he is not only there to help but passionate about what he does. Thank you Azz and we look forward to contacting you in 2 months to tell you all good news even though we know you are only at the end of the phone if we need you before then.

Azz is very good at what he does. We’ve had home come to our home twice and both times he’s helped with our big breed dog and left us the tools to work with. Our dog wouldn’t go for a walk and had started to dominate the house. That was in March 22.
As came out and we’ve never had any issues since. Recently she’d started to shake and wouldn’t go in the kitchen. Also started barking when we had visitors. Two weeks after Azz visited she will now go in the kitchen to feed. The barking is still being worked on but we’re practicing what Azz taught us.

I couldn’t be more impressed with Az and what he has done to help us with our pooch.
It is early days but the improvement in the past 24 hours in our quality of life with the dog is crazy.
His wealth of knowledge supports everything he shows you and fills in the gaps we had previously about understanding why our dog behaves the way he DID.
We are so excited to see how our dog improves over the next 2 months using the techniques Az taught us!!! It’s like we have a different dog all together.

Azz came over to help us with Rocco our 1year 8 Month Belgium mali cross staff, we couldn't and didn’t enjoy walking rocco as he pulled so much, within the first 5 minutes of walking azz had him walking fine. His detailed knowledge of dogs is amazing , he has taught us so much that we didn’t know about dogs in general. Rocco definitely ruled the house and (me) but that will soon change, we have already started to notice changes. We have been to a few trainers but they didn’t help so behaviourist was the way forward. I couldn’t recommend azz enough if you need help, his knowledge alone is worth the time! We hope to have a well behaving new dog very soon

Azz is absolutely amazing and has changed our lives! We have a gorgeous rescue Rottweiler who due to his poor start in life was nervous of his own shadow! This was causing many issues. After an hour Azz had bestowed his wisdom and educated us on the psychology behind the issues we were facing. By the end of the session we were taking our boy out for a walk without any issues! I would HIGHLY reccomend Azz!

Azz came round as my 1 year old Labrador had basically taken over as the alpha as I was not giving him the leadership I should have. Even though it has only been a day, my dog has improved immensely and I’m completely shocked at how well he’s behaving and listening to me. Azz was informative and he knew exactly how to help and how to get me to understand how my dog needs to know the boundaries and how to do this. He gave clear instructions and guidance on what we should be doing and more importantly not doing. I can’t recommend him enough. If I could give 6 stars I would!!

Azz owner of “Back to balance canine behaviourist” is very friendly guy and is extremely knowledgeable in understanding the brain of canines.i was searching for a local behaviourist to help me and my dog with his separation anxiety and sometimes agressive behaviour towards my toddler . I was considering re homing I was desperate to understand why my dog acted the way he did . I also had to keep my child safe ! I was recommended to use Azz and I’m so greatful I did. Since meeting Azz My entire perspective and understanding of my dog and canines in general has completely changed , I now understand why he behaves like he does and what he is trying to tell me . Since implimenting some very simple suggestions from Azz with lots of determination from me (I own a very stubborn daxi ) I saw results from my dog in as little as 24hrs. He was actually listening, awaiting my directions and was calmer in himself . I look forward to seeing further changes over a longer period . I also like that I can check back in with Azz for further support whenever I need it. AZZ methods also do not use treets to get the results we want unlike others. Dont hesitate , I highly recommend to everyone .

Azz arrived yesterday and didn't disappoint . His knowledge is amazing and helpful . They way he explains his knowledge was easy to take in . He knew straight away my dogs rule the house . Great advice and a plan in place which within 10min of him im leaving we were seeing changes. Doyle is a big dominant boy and Margo butter wouldn't melt but definitely the boss . Controll at front door and lead improvement straight away . Highly recommended Azz to anyone we got a long way to go but i know following the advice it will work and our lives will improve . Money well spent and and good price for excellent knowledge.

We are absolutely overjoyed and cannot thank Azz enough for the training that he provided. He gives you real in-depth knowledge of how a dog’s brain works, and what encourages the wrong behaviour. It really makes you think about your behaviour towards your dog and how your interpretation of situations is completely different to what your dog is thinking. For example, what we thought was Tasha showing us affection was actually her manipulating us into doing exactly what she wanted, when she wanted, allowing her to maintain her dominance in the household. We are sure that a lot of people will relate to this!! It can be only small things but after listening to Azz it all makes perfect sense and getting it right makes a huge difference to your dog’s behaviour.
To be honest we could listen to Azz for hours, the knowledge that he has is so interesting and informative. He is a true professional and his delivery is outstanding. Listening to Azz gives you so much encouragement and enthusiasm to want to get things right. It has certainly made us think and do things differently.
When Azz arrived, Tasha barked nonstop and was in a very nervous state. Azz worked Tasha out straight away and took control of her immediately. It took a while for Tasha to settle as we have very few visitors to the house but Azz new exactly how to deal with it and it was a real comfort to see how Tasha settled and learned that she could trust Azz.
What your dog requires is leadership and be able to respect and fully trust you. Although we thought we were doing the right things, after listening to Azz and going through things that we currently do, it was quite clear that we need to improve our leadership skills.
We also needed to change a few things regarding boundaries around the house. Azz demonstrated with Tasha what was required, and Tasha was quick to learn, which was very satisfying. However, it’s not an instant fix and Azz stressed the importance of repetition training to engrain it into your dog.
We also went outside and did some training which again was brilliant. We encountered two dogs whilst out, one calm and one very boisterous which was great for the training. Azz demonstrated exactly how to deal with various situations and train Tasha to overcome her nervousness and being reactive. Azz then passed the lead to us so that we could follow what he had just showed us. Tasha was like a different dog, which again, gave us so much encouragement that Tasha could be a much calmer and happier dog once she knows that we are in charge, and she doesn’t have to worry.
We would say that without question Azz provides you with all the knowledge that you require and can demonstrate everything that you need to see but things will only change with repetition and lots of it, so it does require commitment and dedication, or things just won’t improve.
We cannot thank Azz enough and would strongly recommend that if you are encountering problems with your dog, you book a session with him. To be honest its worth booking a session just to get a good understanding of how your dog thinks and what you could improve on to become the best owner that you can be. You will be amazed by the knowledge that he has. Another comfort is that Azz is happy for you to contact him with any queries or concerns that you have.

Don't be impatient! You have to work at this..some things improve instantly, others might need a little time, but if you implement what Azz says consistently and show the dog that you are in control, you will have a calmer, less reactive dog that looks to you for guidance..and the results work quickly!
Can't thank Azz enough for his support..this man needs a medal!..just read all the positive reviews (like I did) and watch his videos!
