Specifically when I called to inquire about details on my account or when I received multiple emails (4) from a specific excursion provider that I couldn’t comprehend worded either in Portuguese or Spanish which I thought they it stated that they were cancelling me if I didn’t respond !

Azore Getaways was on the top of my experiences travelling. They were honest from the start, continued to present useful emails, vs marketing, and the emails were concise and easy to navigate. This is my 2nd time using Azores…
This is my 2nd time using Azores Getaways and I am very pleased with them. Decent deals for packages with smooth booking process. All flights, hotels, and arrangements were as expected without any issues. I appreciate having their emergency number available if any issues arise during the trip. My only complaint is the scheduled arrival times at the airports. While I appreciate them being cautious and not wanting anyone to miss flights or have issues, the scheduled arrival times were not reasonable. Initially we were scheduled for a transfer to the Lisbon airport 3hrs before flight departure. Before our trip we were contacted and told our transport time was updated to arrive 4hrs prior. When I called to inquire about the change, I was told that someone had recently missed their flight with a 3hr transfer and that we were required to arrive 4hrs before due to high volumes at the airport. We arrived so early that our ticket gate was not even open for us to check our baggage or check in, so we were stuck at the airport entry which was PACKED with people and no where to sit. There were two flights to our destination of Sao Miguel before our scheduled flight- we tried to rebook on the earlier flights since we were there so early, but were unable to due to how Azores Getaways had booked our flights as a package. Despite the airport being packed, security and ticket lines were not long or slow and made the arrival time seem even more unnecessary. If anything, 60% of flights from Lisbon are delayed, so arriving that early makes even less sense. Our flight was delayed, so we spent almost 6hrs in the airport when we could have been enjoying time in Lisbon or Sao Miguel. It does not seem reasonable to require everyone to arrive early because one person couldn’t make their flight… we had a similar experience on the return flight we were told to arrive at Ponta Delgada airport at 4:30am to return our car for a 6:30am flight. However, the car rental place and airport did not even open until 5am. We were at the car place before staff even arrived to open up. In the future if we use Azores Getaways I will book my transfers myself and use my judgement to arrive at the times that seem reasonable for the situation. The biggest downfall of the trip was long travel and layovers, so the extra airport time was really salt in the wound! Otherwise, we had a great experience and would have loved to spend more time in Sao Miguel. The booking agent said 3 days was plenty to see everything on the island, but we like to really get to know a place and its culture and people- not just check the box of tourist sites- so we would have enjoyed a couple more days. For anyone who likes to wander streets and take their time to see the lesser known sites, is recommend 5 days in Sao Miguel. I appreciated the flexibly we had in booking to add a two day stopover in Lisbon.

Number one has started off with ChatGPT apparently it’s I’m liking. Then I found Azores getaways a business. That’s a diamond in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The online tour search is very helpful. It also provides a quote online.
The agents are helpful. However, there is confusion between the first name and the last name. I put my whole name according to my passport, and it is first name, then last name. The agent somehow included my middle name in the last name. I only found out this when I searched my booking number with my last name at the TAP booking website. Luckily, the airline accepted this mistake. Otherwise, I couldn't even get on the flight.
I suggest your website have separate lines for first name and last name to avoid this problem in the future.

Unable to use credits for this itinerary
Price and dates changed from booking myself to agent help.
I received email about using my credit but couldn’t do it online. I called agent and they said it couldn’t be used on this itinerary plus my price went up in the same moment.
I also could have booked each section same flights, hotels and cars for $200 dollars less if I did it myself.

Everything went as scheduled. The tour guides were great. The plane ride was fine. My husband is handicapped and everything went without a hitch and couldn't have been better.
