Food and staff are the best. Sailing is smooth and accommodations lovely.

My husband and I loved our Bordeaux River Cruise. The ship, the crew, the captain and of course the experience was wonderful.
We truly enjoyed our tours and tour guides, but there is just one exception. And it was not the tour guide, but the actual port of call. On day 3, the Cussac-Fort-Medoc Orientation Walk with tasting of local specialties was not good AT ALL. The walk itself was a joke. The local vendors were fine, but truly this port of call should be eliminated from the itinerary.

The accommodations were beautiful. All of the staff were excellent. The food was superb. I’ve already booked another cruise with Avalon.

I loved everything about this cruise. The smaller size made it a lot easier to get to know people. The crew was friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic. Our cabin was very comfortable. While the huge windows are great in theory, our drapes were closed most of the time because the sun coming in would heat up the cabin - or we were docked next to another ship. We especially enjoyed the lounges with the great coffee machine.

Avalon cruises are relaxed and whilst on board every need is met. Being a river cruise sailing too is smooth.
The food offerings are fine tuned and a varied menu is on offer.....
The staterooms are tastefully designed also equipped & what is most interesting is the french doors opening out giving one a beautiful view of the countryside.

The whole trip was great! Accommodations, food, hosts, tour guides, planning…..all perfect. We’ll do again!!

The crew were all very friendly and attentive. Reminded me of what ocean cruises used to be like ( attentive service, clean facilities, etc). Valentin or cruise director was a riot and very attentive and reachable.

This was our first river cruise. It was recommended to us by friends who had been on one. They suggested Michael Walstrom of Affordable Tours. He was awesome! So knowledgeable and a great communicator. The ship was pristine, service was excellent, food and wine beyond expectations. We love each exccursion we were on with local guides. Having a choice of 3 types each AM and PM was wonderful. The other passengers were from around the world which made for fun c0onversations and perspectives.We are already planning our 2026 cruise with Avalon!

Great service! Stateroom was layed out well and the bed was comfortble.

Great first cruise experience!

Everyone and everything was fabulous! The staff, food, included excursions, the room and all facilities. Can’t wait to return for another cruise!

Staff was outstanding and excursions were enjoyable. Would of giving 5 stars if it wasn't for your cooks. Seafood served was horrible. Every seafood dish I ordered was overcooked. Fish was like mush. I returned every seafood meal and reordered the steak, which was cooked correctly.

The entire Avalon team was so attentive and helpful. Their suggestions for small side trips, restaurants and local faves were always so spot on. We loved the things we saw and the atmosphere they created onboard. People from different backgrounds, cultures and nations were given opportunities to share and foster friendships that I am confident will be lifelong.

Took an active/adventure tour and there were plenty of exercise opportunities available, of which we took advantage. We were able to really see the countryside and villages, and beautiful architecture as well as continue a physical fitness program.

Great staff. Pretty boat. Delicious food. Great excursions. Such a comfortable mattress! Large bathroom in stateroom. Loved that we had a land portion first and got to know many people before we started on river cruise. Great cruise director- Allessia. Loved the itinerary from Basal to Amsterdam.

Avalon and it's representatives are polite, extremely friendly, very responsive to changing conditions and well trained on their jobs. They take all of the uncertainty and stress out of planning and executing a wonderful adventure.

The staff did a fantastic job especially since they were faced with a bedbug problem before we could board the ship. The rooms are laid out nicely and bathrooms are a lot more spacious than ones on other River cruise ships. The food was average and uninspiring. Several of the excursions were unimpressive. All in all, we had a good experience.

Absolutely amazing cruise in Vietnam/Cambodia with excellent local guides, fantastically well organised, and outstanding customer service. The staff had thought of everything, including refreshing our water bottles on hot days during our tours. Food was amazing. The smaller boat than other tours meant better access. We visited a lot of local communities and villages. Doing Tai Chi on deck on the Mekong at sunrise was a highlight!

Terrible customer service.
I contacted Avalon with two straightforward questions: one about general company info needed for my visa application, and another about the amenities included on the cruise. The agent couldn’t answer either and simply told me to read the website myself. If they can’t handle basic questions, that’s a serious concern. Very disappointing.
