We were on a tour of South India covering the two states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. But we also extended our stay to include 4 days in Goa and a further 4 days in Mumbai. The entire holiday was a wonderful experience. It was well organised and the choice of hotels was perfect as was our driver and various guides. We were well looked after throughout.

Organisation of programme and itinerary (Amritsar, Shimla, Bhutan) was excellent.Hotels and guides were first class, pleasant, knowledgeable, flexible. Drivers in India and Bhutan were excellent. AIT (Vimal) was very pleasant to deal with and accommodated all our requests (golf in Thimpu !) "Meet and greet" staff all very professional. The whole experience was seamless and trouble free. AIT highly recommended.

From planning to the end of our 3 week private tour , communication has been first class. Service is outstanding , This is our second private tour with AIT and it’s the only company I would consider for a tour to the countries they cover .

My wife and I have recently returned from a fantastic 4 week tailor made tour of India. This was the fourth time that we have traveled to the sub-continent, but the first time with AIT. From the initial contact we had with Vimal when we discussed where we wanted to go, and the subsequent itinerary that was put together, to the actual tour itself, everything was first class. The hotels were excellent, tour guides knowledgable and friendly; and safe divers who were always punctual. Vimal contacted us during the tour to 'check on us', and a representative from AIT's local agents was also in touch on a couple of occasions, which was reassuring. Highlights of the tour were many, but visiting the Golden Temple at Amritsar was probably the top. Also, our visit/trek to Lonar Lake, a natural attraction, off the beaten track, formed by the impact of a meteor. 500,000 years ago was breathtaking. Top hotels were The Imperial in Delhi, Taj Resort in Goa and Taj Palace in Mumbai. All in all, an excellent tour - well done AIT!

Authentic India Tours attention to detail was second to none. Their team kept in touch with us throughout our trip. We were unaware of any issues during our 3 week holiday. Had there been any problems the team would have sorted them out immediately.

We had the most amazing trip to India in March this year. It was tailor made for out group of 3 by Charly at Authentic India Tours. Nothing was too much trouble and the trip was perfect.
We visited Delhi, Ranthambore, Agra, Varanassi, Darjeeling and lastly Calcutta, so a very busy and full itinerary.
We did some travel by car with our own personal drivers, who were exceptional at their jobs, and some by train and one internal flight.
I have to say that our guides for each of the cities were amazing, so knowledgeable, Friendly and helpful to the extent that we were able to change some of the itineraries on the day, seeing places we wished to see rather than what was planned. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and this made out trip extra special.
The hotels that Charly had booked for us in each of the cities were absolutely amazing, I have never stayed in hotels like them anywhere in the world, they were top notch and the staff could not do enough to help us, the food and choice of food was also outstanding.
There were no negatives to the trip at all.

Authentic India tours put together a wonderful culinary tour for me on fairly short notice! I was a solo female traveler who had never been to India and from the moment I was picked up at the airport to when I was dropped off I felt cared for and safe. My driver Raj was excellent!! He was very organized, polite and kind and made sure I got the best of every experience. The hotels I stayed in were top notch and all of the activities that were part of the tour were unique. I am so happy with my experience. There is no doubt it was a once in a lifetime trip made possible by authentic India.

A perfect holiday
One problem, with the exception of Cochin, and the spice tour, was understanding the guides, who tended to speak very fast, and in some cases with limited English. Their enthusiasm was engaging, so maybe some input from AIT could make a change.

An great experience in lots of ways. The trip itself was expertly curated - we had a basic itinerary and budget in mind and Vimal and the team tailored it to work with both. We originally booked for Feb 2023 but had to postpone and everything was changed with no hassle at all for us. All arrangements worked perfectly. They continued to be proactive and helpful throughout.
I particularly recommend Maison Perumal in Pondicherry- original architecture, lovely staff and great food, Mysore - the palace lives up to its reputation, the safari at Nagahole national park - we stayed at Kaav (superb) and saw a tiger up close. India is always great but having everything taken care of and working so well makes it even better

Our 30 day trip was organised meticulously by Vimal and the Authentic India staff. Everyone turned up on time, both our drivers were friendly and helpful and our guides were all profesional and knowledgeable. All our hotels were comfortable and interesting and the itinerary was exactly what we wanted. We would highly recommend Authentic India Tours and would certainly use them again.

We had a well organized holiday where all parts came together well. There was always someone waiting for us and help was always on hand. India is a chaotic country but we were guided very well.

We had three glorious weeks travelling in South India, Kerala and Tamil Nadu with this company. We are regular visitors to India and have travelled far and wide with a few different travel companies, but this really was the best. We were a party of 4 on a bespoke holiday travelling in a small travel bus, far off the beaten track, to experience the real India. The first week we never saw another white face.

Our first holiday with AIT exceeded expectations. We have done many tailor-made trips with well-known operators and this small company did not disappoint us in any way. Designing our 20 day holiday was very much a 2-way process, with suggestions being made that matched our interests. The trip itself went off without a hitch; accommodation and activities were high quality and all guides and drivers made sure we had the best possible experience. Recommended.

We chose Authentic India Tours because they were offering a tailor-made off the beaten track experience which is exactly what we wanted. I was lucky enough to meet Vimal when he was exhibiting at the Hay Literature Festival. We asked him to design a tour for four of us in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. We all love nature, birds, wildlife, meeting local people and experiencing the local cultures, as well as tasting good food and enjoying some relaxation in beautiful settings. We had been to India several times before so wanted something a bit different. Right from the start we were very impressed with how carefully Vimal listened to our needs and preferences. The result was a truly wonderful holiday staying in outstanding homestays and small hotels hosted by their wonderful owners and their staff. All were beautiful, authentic, unique and run by people who were passionate about hospitality, sustainability and nature. Wildlife and birds were abundant everywhere. It was truly a magical experience.
The variety of scenery in this part of India is amazing. We drove through and stayed in tea, coffee, rubber plantations in the hills as well as a beautiful small coastal resort with miles of golden sand and a houseboat on the backwaters. We saw wild elephants twice, an unexpected highlight.
Vimal and the team from Authentic India tours are highly experienced and passionate. They were responsive throughout the planning phase, and kept in touch throughout our journey too. We even enjoyed Vimal’s personal hospitality and met his family. We felt safe in every way, and could not have found such beautiful places on our own. Authentic India tours have such depth of knowledge and the passion to prepare a unique experience for their clients. We had an excellent English speaking driver who made us feel safe throughout, looked after us in every way, pointing out interesting views and landmarks throughout the journey. We also enjoyed two very comfortable rail journeys.

After trying 4 or 5 other tour companies, we still hadn't found one with the flexibility to meet all our needs at a budget we could afford. Then we tried Authentic India and are so happy we chose them. From the start you felt as though you were getting a truly personal service with real knowledge 'on the ground' and genuinely friendly and helpful staff who took time to listen to what we wanted for our holiday. The result was the most amazing trip to India, with the best possible service, accommodation, drivers and tour guides you could imagine. We visited beautiful sites and stayed in gorgeous accommodation. While planning the trip, the staff contacted us several times to ensure they knew exactly what we wanted, and to make other, interesting and helpful suggestions for our itinerary. We were fully informed of Visa applications, currency, phone and health issues along the way. Once we were there, any queries were dealt with immediately via the whatsapp group that was set up before we left the UK. Everyone we came into contact with was professional, well-informed and very experienced, as well as a lot of fun! And, amazingly, they weren't the most expensive company we looked at either. Although we dealt with staff in the UK, the company is based in India so had real local knowledge of, and access to, the best guides, drivers and accommodation and we were very well looked after wherever we went. I will definitely be using them again for my next visit!

Really well organised tour at every stage and great accommodation

We had a to organise a trip at fairly short notice. Our agent, Charly, was most attentive and put up with lots of to-ing and fro-ing to ensure we could get the trip we wanted. Then, when we were in India, he was at the end of a hotline to help us with any queery, very quick at responding to anything that needed a bit of extra help. We felt like friends, and in fact he came to meet us for a short while at the end of the trip which was lovely.
