Great location and friendly service, but the boat maintenance needs attention
I recently chartered a 39ft Dufour Grand Large for a sailing trip in the Ionian Sea, starting from Sivota. Overall, we had a very enjoyable holiday, but our experience was a mix of highlights and some frustrating technical issues that were not properly addressed by the charter company.
The Positives:
Sivota is a fantastic place to start a charter. It is far less chaotic than the large marina in Lefkada, which is a massive relief, especially at the end of the trip. While charterers in Lefkada often face long, stressful queues at the fuel dock on the final day, in Sivota, the fuel truck comes directly to the boat—a huge advantage. The handover process was also very smooth and professional, and the team in Sivota were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout.
The Issues:
Unfortunately, the technical condition of the boat was disappointing, and the support from the company was lacking:
Sail Batten: On the first day, I reported that a sail batten had slipped out of the car. Despite notifying them immediately, the only response I received was a generic WhatsApp message thanking me for the notice, with no further action taken. This made hoisting and lowering the sails difficult, and while it didn't impact performance once under sail, it was a nuisance that could easily have led to further damage.
Solar System: The solar panel system was not working at all. The charter company was unable to assist, so I had to diagnose the problem myself—it turned out to be a 50A fuse that I had to replace.
Water Quality: The hot water system had a persistent, unpleasant smell of rotten eggs, which made it very difficult to use.
Dinghy: The dinghy was defective and lost air constantly; we had to re-inflate it every six to eight hours. We were unable to get this fixed even when we stopped at the charter base.
Conclusion:
Because of the issues with the boat and the lack of responsiveness to maintenance requests, I would not charter this specific vessel again. However, I highly recommend Sivota as a location due to its convenience and the excellent service provided by the local team. With better boat maintenance and more proactive support, this would have been a perfect experience.

We had a wonderfull week on the Ionian Sea.
There were some minor issues but with the support of the backoffice is was solved quickly.
Unfortunally we were in danger of missing our flight home. Due to a big trafficjam the taxi could not reach us. The owner of Anassa Sailing lent us his own car for the transport to the airport. So very kind!!
So in every respect: very kind and helpfull people!

Good service, nice people
We had rented the Hanse 485 (Avra) through TipTop Sailing and ended up with Anassa Sailing.
The service and friendliness of the staff and the owner were exceptional. We were warmly welcomed; the boat had some damage caused by the previous renters, yet we were still able to board at 2:00 PM (early check-in).
The anchor chain caused some issues, and the lack of colored links made it unclear how much chain had been let out, which led to some stressful moments. The winch also overheated.
When we returned the boat and were heading to the airport, the taxi van didn’t show up. Without hesitation, the owner offered us his own car to drive to the airport. Even after we missed our flight, he said we could continue using his car if needed.
In short, the service was fantastic.

A few minor issues we noticed were resolved without any complications. While underway, we were able to resolve a problem easily over the phone. The return process after our holiday was straightforward and quick. We can recommend Anassa Sailing with a clear conscience.

Bei Übernahme des Bootes mussten noch…
Bei Übernahme des Bootes mussten noch ein paar Probleme beseitigt werden. Die aber zeitnah gelöst wurden . Das Personal war sehr kompetent und sehr freundlich. Die Hanse 508 segelt auch am Wind sehr gut.. Die Kabinentüren und die Nasszellen sind für die Bootsgröße klein. Die Rückgabe des Bootes ging zügig und unkompliziert.

Leider stellte sich erst bei der Übernahme der Yacht (Hanse 508) heraus, dass sowohl das Bugstrahlruder nicht funktionierte, als auch ein Ventil im Abwasser-bereich ausgetauscht werden musste. Im Stress der (erfolgreichen) Reparatur blieben leider einige wichtige Hinweise zum Gebrauch der Yacht auf der Strecke. Auch fehlt ein Handbuch mit den wichtigsten Hinweisen zur Bedienung sowie der Position einzelner Komponenten, z. B. der Schwarzwassertank Ventile.
Zur Yacht:
Die Hanse segelt hervorragend. Das Platzangebot im Salon und im Cockpit ist angemessen. Die Nasszellen hingegen sind viel zu klein, die 5. Kabine mit zwei Stockbetten für normal große Erwachsene absolut unbrauchbar.
Die Ausstattung mit Klimaanlage, Wassermacher, Generator, Kühlbox und Grill im Cockpit ist bemerkenswert.
Die Toilette in der Skipperkabine im Bug war NICHT ANGESCHLOSSEN, diese Information (s. o.), bzw. ein Hinweisschild hätte uns unterwegs einigen ekligen Aufwand erspart.
Unterm Strich trotzdem ein absolut lohnender Törn, bei dem das Positive deutlich überwog.

Check before leaving the harbour
When we arrived on Saturday, the boat AVRA - Hanse 458 was not yet ready for charter. First we got the information that there is a new regulation to check the boat on Monday (!!) by the police and we got the offer to change to another yacht, but luckily the police released the boat (however). At the handover some problems on the boat itself had to be fixed. In general, the condition of the boat (3 years old) is not very good. The anchor chain was knotted, so we had to laboriously undo the entire chain. The Hanse 458 is a perfect yacht for sailing. After we had made some sail improvements (headsail, mainsail), we had a very nice turn in the Ionian Islands. To summarize, we can recommend the agency and the boat if you are able and willing to fix some problems during the trip. We hope that all the problems we described and reported after the trip will be fixed so that the next crew will get a boat with better conditions.

Well worth it
We reserved the Hanse 418 “Mersina” about 8 months ago and our experience met expectations well. Mersina sailed well and we were happy with the boat. The staff at the marina were very professional and helped us with any questions we had. I would recommend Anassa Sailing.
