Incompetence at its finest
They have taken over my loan and ever since I have had zero access to make any adjustments to my payments including Escrow accounts. I have called, emailed, and taken every step suggested but have zero resolution and just keep getting sent in a cycle of call this number, email these people. It seems no one knows how to help correct the issues I am seeing, this will ultimately be costing me tens of thousands of dollars in Escrow because I am unable to make the proper adjustments to cover the cost adequately. In my 46 years on the earth never have I had this much trouble trying to gain the ability to manage my auto daft payments. Absolutely unprofessional, incompetence at its finest, nothing about them taken over my loan has been a pleasant experience .

Heartbroken!
I need to get this off my chest regarding Amerihome Mortgage. We started off with a 3 month Forbearance which we were told would be "put at the end of the loan". I spoke to a representative and she said just to make my regular mortgage payment on the 4th month. Why I called to do that, I was told I needed to pay off the 3 months previous or I would go into default, obviously I didn't have it so the next option was to do a Loan Modification. We filled out the paperwork to start that process. After waiting and me calling numerous times for a status on the application, they sent us the wrong paperwork for the "type" of loan we had. We had to fill out a different set of paperwork for our loan, which we did. After months of calling again, we finally received the Modification Trial payment plan. We made our 3 months payment on time - which by the way were about $300.00 more than our initial mortgage payment - but we were able to financially make that payment. When we received the Final Modification, to our surprise - it went from the Trial payment of $1500.00 to $1800.00!!
Long story short, after years of trying to get an affordable payment - we now have to sell our home! We are heartbroken! Please be aware of Amerihome and their Modifications!!
Amerihome mortgage is awful
Amerihome mortgage is awful. We just purchased our first home and our mortgage servicer changed three times before we even had a chance to make our first payment. We paid our first half payment two weeks early to one of the servicers being select portfolio services. The other half of our payment was made to Amerihome on April 1. Amy home is not working with us and trying to get the information from select portfolio services on our payment that we made and they are still showing. We have a past due balance for our first payment which is ridiculous. They are extremely unhelpful and have made this process extremely complicated and stressful. If I could switch companies, I definitely would.

This company authorized an automatic payment from my bank account,WITHOUT checking with me first. Somebody else called and verified everything and told them that they were authorized to make this payment..Yet nobody from Amerihome or ServiceMac contacted me to verify..This person is on the mortgage, not MY bank account..threw my whole bank account into the negative. Anybody could've called them and pretended to be somebody that they not and they just believed them.. I'm not happy. Yall need to make sure with the primary person FIRST before just believing anybody..Very unprofessional. Then when I called ,they act like it was the bank fault, no it's yall fault..

They don't pay the insurance out of escrow at all.
This company can't seem to get their records correct. They failed to pay the insurance payment (although they were quick to take out the amount in escrow). I had to pay the insurance company directly. When I contacted them, they swore that the issue would never happen again....until this year, when they failed to pay the insurance AGAIN. WORST bunch of idiots on the planet. They take your money but can't seem to manage it.

After calling for about 10 times and being transferred to a robot, while also never getting a response to emails. I’m very unsatisfied.

Regulatory Nightmare
I was unemployed for over a year and Amerihome set up trial payments for me to make for November 2025, December 2025, and January 2026. My loan modification paperwork then took 2 more months to even be sent to me.
In March, I received the first set of documents, took time off of work (unpaid and to my own detriment at a job I have been at less than 6 months), got them notarized and sent back.
I received a second set of documents due to a notary error. I took time off work (again, to my own detriment), got them notarized, and sent them back.
I received a third set of documents and no info, at first, as to what the issue was. The issue was apparently they sent the wrong documents the second time. So, I, again, took time off work to get this set notarized and sent back.
Them emailed me blank documents for a 4th set. They declined to offer me an online notary or a mobile notary (even though Amerihome is at least a BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY). I have spent hours on the phone, taken hours off of work, and the only way I got even close to a resolution was after 3 CFPB complaints, an email to the CEO, and contacting 3 On Your Side.
To me, this is an egregious process failure that might even be illegal. Let's see how much violent bureaucracy they have in store for me in April 2026, now that March is over.

Good Luck with Reaching a Real Person
Trying to reach an actual person through the automated system when you call is a nightmare. On average of the multiple times I’ve called for assistance with paperwork it took me over 20 minutes. When you actually do talk to someone it’s a 50/50 chance of getting a representative that is either completely rude / not helpful at all or you do get someone that is very helpful and attentive. It’s been over 20 days and I’m still waiting for my mortgage monthly payment to be updated after I have submitted all the necessary approved documents in my case. I did not choose this company, they bought our mortgage so now I’m stuck with them unfortunately.

Do not use this company if you can…
Do not use this company if you can avoid it. unfortunately my home loan was sold to them so I couldn't. Their escrow department lied to me multiple times, continues to drop my calls/transfers, and now I'm stuck with late fees from the county that I have to pay due to their negligence. The fact they can service VA loans is unacceptable.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Worst mortgage company I have ever worked with, they paid our property taxes with an exempt on file, and now they are saying they never received it, and now are making us pay back their mistake until the city pays them back. We also had issues getting our refund back from them for the property taxes we paid to them before the exemption. Everytime I call customer support, I get a different answer and they never know whats going on. If you are looking to get a mortgage with them, do not, they are horrendous.

Terrible Company - Service is awful. They only care about receiving their payment.
Apparently when loans are sold/transferred to them, due diligence is not requirement. As a result escrow is not reviewed against closing disclosures and when insurance or property tax payments need to be made AmeriHome says "its not being escrowed".
Getting a live person requires threatening legal action.
Issue is still not resolved after over 24 hours of initial outreach and numerous emails to the customer support line. AmeriHome Servicing needs to do a lot better.

This is the worst Mortgage Servicing company I have ever encountered. I can’t imagine a worse experience with customer service. They seemed the have hired a bunch of humans that are no more helpful than bots and can’t give you any straight answers. Paperwork is always a mess and they have messed up more things for us than I can begin to count. I am hoping and praying that our mortgage gets switched to a better servicer.
