I ordered a product online using a Canadian Visa credit card. I received an email from the Customer Service supervisor the next morning stating my order had been cancelled as the company does not accept international credit cards. I sent an email reply stating I did use a Canadian credit card. An incorrect assumption was made that because my permanent residence is in another country, the credit card used was an “international” card. This could have been checked by Customer Service by calling the bank associated with the credit card # and asking them. I also tried phoning in the afternoon, leaving a vm stating again that my credit card is Canadian, and requesting a call back. At the time of writing this review, I have not had either an email or phone call in response. I will source the item I’d hoped to buy from Alltides from another vendor.
Undecided. I want know if anyone knows more about the CEO John Gable (if that's his real name) and it's board of directors. I can't find anything on who he really is aside from some vague information. Does anyone know anything truly about these people. I know he worked for the Bush Administration which isn't flattering. FYI I tend to lean conservative but I don't consider myself left or right because it's all BS. I want to know the real agenda behind these Truth Finders and the truth about who they really are. After covid I'm digging into every thing before I start reading anyone's material.
I tried to sign up for email updates, but nothing happened. When I tried to find out their headquarters location address it was given as Allsides Technologies Inc. 8575 E. 11th Avenue Denver Colorado 60220 which turned out to be a Post office. So I have to wonder if they are legitimate or if this is a come-on? All I wanted was email updates which I thought were free now I find out they charge a membership fee. And want you to get an app, as though we don't already have enough apps. So, what is going on? There are already a scarcity of legitimate unbiased news organizations. The Intercept and ProPublica were supposed to be the only other two but they aren't unbiased they are leftwing. So whose left?
What a joke. Site claims a local newspaper is “centrist” with a dominant headline in today’s paper “Trump: Verdict of guilty was ‘rigged’”. Those cute little single quotation marks don’t erase the impact this message has, especially on the apparently high percentage of under-educated citizens around me. This website is more than worthless, it’s dangerous.
Allsides.com may have begun life as a fair media reporting site, but has become a right wing outlet for misinformation and bias. While it claims it's decisions are made solely on written articles, it fails to accurately provide detailed information used to formulate a bias decision. This site should not be trusted as an unbiased source of information.
Their articles and references on Left-Right bias are skewed due to the prevalence of American media sources.
Their article on the biases of fact-checkers misunderstood how statistics work, criticising Politifact for giving a "mixed" review to the statement that more white people are killed by police than Black, when Politifact correctly noted that there are proportionally more white than black people in the USA, and ratios are an essential part of accurately identifying disadvantages across demographics.
They also criticise a fact check by The Washington Post for taking context and implications of the speaker into account, describing it as the subjective judgement of claims, "often beyond the hard facts", to give a final “fact check” rating.
I believe this website is in good faith, but their understanding of fact checking is amateur and fundamentally flawed. The assertion that this website makes, namely, that each statement should be assessed as true or false independent of context and subtext in order to accurately appraise the overall veracity is simply incorrect.
This site does an excellent job of rating bias in news organizations. For those who actually want to read/hear the truth, rather than just something to reinforce their own personal biases.
