Upsell, no service
In July 2020 I called Airport Home Appliance to buy a washer and dryer. I was very specific in stating that I wanted a simple, effective, and above-all reliable washing machine. Their sales associate convinced me that the best option was the Maytag commercial-grade washer. He specifically said: "You know the old ad campaign with the lonely Maytag repairman? This is the washing machine upon which their reputation for reliability was built." Based on his recommendation and wanting to make a purchase that would last I spent roughly $1000 on this washer. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst appliance purchase that I have ever made. From day one the performance was terrible: The washer was incredibly loud, and tore clothing while providing only marginal cleaning performance. After a couple of months I called Airport to report the problems that I was having, at which time they referred me to Maytag for a service appointment that did not fix the problems. Now, just over two years after purchasing the washer it is not drying clothes effectively. Maytag only offers a 1 year warranty and Airport home appliances states that they can do nothing to help me with repair or replacement.
Of note, when I tried to call Airport Home Appliance and selected the service department I waited on hold for 30 minutes before finally hanging up. I called back and selected the sales department and was immediately connected with a representative. Based on my experience this is indicative of their approach to customer service: They are there to up-sell you on something but unable or unwilling to support you if there is an issue with your purchase down the road.
Save yourself the time, money, and hassle and don't shop here. I would go pretty much anywhere: to another appliance store, to a big box store, or to Craigslist before ever making another purchase from Airport home appliance again.

I Bought Kitchenaid, 2 door side by side from San Jose Airport appliances - The sales person was very polite and helpful.
He said that if there is anything wrong with the fridge must report it within 48 hrs or a replacement of the fridge will cost me 25% of the bill plus the removal charge.
On the very day it arrived I noticed that the doors were not aligned, the freezer side made a creaking sound on opening and closing, and The drawers could not be removed evern when the fridge door was wide open.
There were yellow streaks above the top shelf on both sides of the fridge inside the wall.
Reported immediately and they sent the service guy from J&H Appliance

He came and slightly adjusted the right door and said all o the creaking sound is normal as some water lines wires etc are running behind the freezer door? Floor models are not connected hence you will not know these problems until it reaches your home.
Yellow stains were not very visible if shut the light off the fridge and the drawers are always hard to pull out that is normal He mentioned his mother has one and she too has the same complaint! The drawers are Plastic and very light and flimsy so I have my fingers crossed and will update after 6 months.
I wonder if the owner of the Company knows the problems with the product and if they taking any steps to fix them before they are sold. Manager Nora who I spoke to who works at San Jose Airport said nothing can be done if I need the replacement I have to pay 25% of the invoice? She was very Rude!
I reminded her that I reported problems within one hour of the installation but she refused to budge and repeated that I have to pay 25% if I need a replacement fridge. I was told by the salesperson that if any problem is reported within 48 hrs and if not fixed will be replaced with no penalty. The manager thinks that the problems mentioned above, can be lived with.
Please think 100 times before you land up with the same problem They give you the best service before the goods are bought by you after that all problems are yours take it or throw it. There is no willingness to even try to correct the problems. The fridge cost me 2824.00

Had an absolutely awful experience with these people in Redwood City. I ordered a very expensive pair of LG washer and dryer and pedestals. The arrived and the washing machine ran too hot and the dryer didn't work on the default cycle. Then they brought the wrong colored pedestals. Then they came with the right colored pedestals and promptly broke the washing machine. And now I cannot for the life of me get the store to do anything about it. I have called at least 7 times, spoken to 4 different people. Nothing. Do NOT shop at this store. Awful customer service and frankly crappy products.
Bought a GE refrigerator
Bought a GE refrigerator. Next morning, loud grinding noises that persisted intermittently thruout day and night. Called and staff quickly arranged for replace refrigerator, received and installed within 2 days. Plus, sale had started and signicant difference in price to be refunded to me. DO NOT SHOP HERE! My actual experience at Airport Appliance. I purchased a major appliance from Airport Appliance and very quickly had issues with the appliance. We called Airport to inform them there was a defect in the unit they sold us. It was very clear that they did not care! They made the sale had our money and they no longer needed us. I worked my way up the “Don” who I was told oversees sales at all their stores. It took many calls before he would call me back and it was clear from the head of sale how the company works. They made the sale and did not care what issues I have or what they sold me. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

HUNDREDS of customers left out in the cold after paying thousands of dollars...
Like the others we strive to shop local.
Non-existent managers , always "at lunch" ( at 10:00) or " in meetings" work for a regional manager more interested in having salespeople hustle our money than getting $10,000 worth of appliances properly delivered and installed.
Delivery is a nightmare and they are simply unwilling and unable to get it right.
Hours and hours spent on the phone and driving back and forth just to talk to someone.
It took 5 calls to three different locations JUST to get the number for the regional manager.
As for the GE Cafe series:
- refrigerator hard to clean and maintain
- stove repaired twice in first year
-dishwasher inconsistent . Shiny stainless boxes of mediocrity. Please do your homework and notice that the drawers of the fridge can't open unless both of the doors are open...and ask to be shown how to remove inner components for cleaning.
Although no one has reached out to me... please note that some impotent social media PR person will pop up, act surprised and shocked, and offer to put the issue in front of a manager... way after the fact.
The same managers that are NEVER available once they had your money.
I wasted my time having an honest and heartfelt talk with the owner, Kate whined about how her business was out of control and she sure was sorry she couldn't help me.
And how wrong it was that when salespeople, in my case Adam Cambra, were left to fix their own mistakes. She insisted that managers would handle it. The next day...Adam, who was disingenuous and useless with every aspect of the transaction ( once I paid in full) called me. He told me that the owner emailed him and mentioned a negative social media review...NOW he wanted to help...after putting us through hell for months. Then Kate emailed to tell me that Adam must have randomly stumbled upon the review and taken it upon himself to call me.
All of the sudden they care... ONLY after their disreputable and disastrous bumbling is revealed in public.
Where the heck was this "concerned" owner during the 20+ phone calls , multiple trips to the store and warehouse , lapsed rebates... multiple delivery goofs? The owner said "this is not the way we do business."
Nearly 30 unsatisfactory points of contact and hundreds of nigh mare stories from other customers will beg to differ.
It has been over six months since I sent in my invoice number and contact info...CRICKETS.
There is a lesson here...please mind it: If everything goes perfectly, like any store, a five star review looks great...BUT, look at the number of problems that are repeated again and again by consumers.

DO NOT SHOP HERE! I bought a new washer and dryer from Airport Home Appliance and it has been the worst consumer experience I've ever experienced. After months of dealing with the staff's incompetence and false promises, I have lost all confidence that I will ever receive the $2000 worth of stock appliances we paid for 2 months ago. We paid this company upfront during its Black Friday sale, and after 2 "confirmed" delivery dates in January that we repeatedly followed up on, our appliances somehow never got loaded on the truck for delivery and installation. Worst of all, our "dedicated" sales representative Adam Cambra whom we are told to coordinate with refuses to take any accountability or help us after he botched both deliveries. He nor the staff never communicate any issues even when we call to double check. Every time we call, we're assured the order is all set and we need to wait for the delivery scheduling call. For both failed deliveries, I'm left to realize there is no delivery happening when the promised delivery window calls and texts that don't come through the night before.
I wanted to support a local business instead of going with a national chain, but this horrible experience with Airport Home Appliance is a nightmare. It is a horrible customer service experience that no one told us anything before the missed deliveries and we had to investigate ourselves the night before each repeatedly confirmed delivery day. I'm incredibly upset that I have to waste my time following up with many calls to Adam who will collect commissions from a sale that he lies to me about daily. He and the rest of the staff wouldn't let me speak with a manager until after the second missed delivery, so only time will tell if this third promised delivery will occur or if we can get a refund if they screw up again.
When we bought the washer and dryer, we were careful to avoid COVID delays, and Adam confirmed the washer was in stock and there had been no delays in getting the specific model of gas dryer to the warehouse for home delivery. We scheduled the delivery for 2 months out on 1/16 to give them plenty of time to deliver the appliances. As we approached 2 weeks out from the delivery date, we called twice to confirm the order and delivery and both times were told that we were confirmed for 1/16 and to wait until a call the night before the delivery to get our delivery window. On 1/15, we never got a call from Airport Home Appliance, so we followed up with staff and Adam only to get the news that our appliances were not available and they needed another month to get our appliances in stock.
We understand unexpected delays with COVID, but were very disappointed they never told us about the month long delay the two times we called to confirm our order and delivery for 1/16. The appliances were clearly not available, so it is a horrible customer service experience that no one told us and we had to investigate ourselves the night before the repeatedly confirmed delivery day. Adam could have called us before the promised delivery date to advise they needed more time to fulfill our order.
We still need our new appliances before our move in, so Adam offered the option to switch our order to LG washer and dryer. At this point, we are desperate to ensure that we have appliances for our new home and the ongoing problems with the purchase and the company's repeated failure to deliver the appliances to our home.
I bought a washer and dryer and ended up with a gas leak
I bought a washer and dryer from them about 4.5 months ago. The dryer came damaged. I was told that they were suppose to call me and inform me ahead of time and give me a choice. But I got no call. I then waited on hold for over an hour to negotiate and discuss my options. They offered me 10% off OR a different brand dryer and weeks delay as they didnt have mine anymore. This was frustrating but not even what necessitated me coming on yelp (and every other review site) to give a one star.
2 weeks ago I smelled gas. I called PGE and they told me that the dryer was installed incorrectly and not safely done. I then had no choice but to get the gas shut off. My kids and I went without heat and hot water for 2 days until I got someone to come and fix the problem at a premium cost. That contractor also confirmed that the dryer was installed incorrectly.
I called Airport appliance for over a week almost every day to find out my options. They showed no remorse or sadness. They sent a note to their installation people as its out sourced. They finally called me - Chris from Apogee I believe. He said he would not entertain any claim this far out. I told him I understood it was over 4 months later but I had 2 professionals inform me this was an installation issue and I would be happy to get statements from both for them to consider and reimburse even just a portion of the cost it took to fix the problem. He right there on the spot denied my claim. I asked about appealing this and mediating it. He said no. I then asked for an address and name of the business for possible small claims if I ended up having the energy for that. He would NOT give me an address. Only his first name, and the number he called me from. I insisted on this information because it had been hard enough to reach them as is. He said no, he called me annoying, and said he was going to hang up on me. That call was incredibly upsetting and hurtful and not how a customer should be treated or talked to.
I used the dryer maybe once a week for 4.5 months. There was a gas leak that could have ended up being catastrophic. I have 2 neutral 3rd party professionals both separately telling me it's the installers fault. This seems reasonable for me to ask them to pay for part of the costs I had to pay to fix their mistake. And Airport Appliance and the folks they contract with all have avoided any accountability or responsibility by pointing the finger at anyone else. They've found ways to shield themselves of owning their mistakes and its not ok.
This is not how you should do business. And as a lawyer and a customer who believes in justice, this is unjust.
We waited weeks for a Miele dishwasher…
We waited weeks for a Miele dishwasher and after purchasing on line confirmed a Miele factory technician would install the appliance. When it did arrive almost 5 weeks later only the company’s installers arrived. They did not know what they were doing and spilled water all over the floor from the old dishwasher. We’ve bought 3 refrigerators and 2 sets of washer - dryers from AHA and this is the last purchase. If you want Miele installation confirm in advance as you will get from Miele a free second year of warranty.
Delivery Problems
I called into the store 12/02/20 to chose a fridge freezer which we needed urgently, the first one I chose and paid for, only to be told not in stock and could give no delivery date, so I chose another (few hundred dollars more) and was told would be delivered 12/08/20 nothing arrived, so I called the store (which is not a straightforward experience to get thru to someone) and was told sorry we entered 12/11/20 on paper work it will be with you then. 12/11/20 nothing arrives I call office sorry will be with you 12/14/20 nothing arrives, I call the store, told will be with me 12/21/20 you will get a call on 12/20 to confirm (which I did) 12/21/20 nothing arrives, I call the store, asking for a manager on hold for 5+ minutes then phone goes dead. I am not sure what to do now.
Airport Appliance DOES NOT GAF
I won’t go into my individual experience- there are plenty of detailed reviews, all with the same theme. They take your money in full and leave you without the appliances for months on end. You can only blame COVID for so much. At some point this place needs to take responsibility for its complete ignorance, and deplorable (lack of) customer service. Go to Friedman’s! They are honest and will only take a deposit if and when there is a solid delivery date!
Purchased from and had Airport install…
Purchased from and had Airport install a Bosch dishwasher. Sale process was great.... but the dishwasher never worked properly, not once, was installed incorrectly or was defective. They wouldn't do anything about it, except give us some manufacturer 800 number to call... fyi expect very long wait times getting an actual human and even longer for someone to do anything. If you're expecting ANY post-sale service from them, even for defective products they sold / installed, I wouldn't get your hopes up. They just move on to the next sale. I've been washing dishes by hand for a month since they "installed" it and still no fix. Will NEVER buy from them again, service stinks.
The extended warranty is a scam
The extended warranty is a scam. The 5 years extended warranty end up with 4 years extended warranty. My LG refrigerator purchased from May 2015, but the extended warranty ended at May 2020, but I do have 1 year warranty from the manufacturer. What is the meaning of extend warranty? Which will cover the issue after the manufacture warranty expired, right? But they are not. I’ve tried contact them and the extended warranty company, but no one willing the address this issue.

Airport Appliance is a scam company. I placed an order#22236 for a Samsung Appliances 30" Gas Cooktop in Stainless Steel and Kitchenaid 30" Low Profile Under-Cabinet Ventilation Hood - Stainless Steel on Aug 22, 2020. A few days later we got a call from the online warehouse team (Eddie) saying both are back-ordered until the end of Oct 2020. They suggested we buy something more expensive like in the range of each $1200 for the hood and cooktop. We thought about it and we said we will wait until the end of Oct 2020. They promised it should be there by the end of Oct 2020. I called today Nov 2, the employee that promised us that is no longer with the company and our orde. is still "back-ordered". The new guy we spoke to again suggested we buy something different. I lost it at that point, I canceled the order with them. Basically, they kept our money for 50 days and gave us nothing. These guys are classic scammers.
The entire online warehouse team is rude and they don't know a thing about customer service. Avoid Airport Appliance at all costs!
A new dryer ASAP
Needed a new dryer ASAP but when I called a few stores I was told it will be delivered 3 weeks to a month...... surprised and disappointed! I've seen ads from Airport Home Appliance in the past and I said why don't I try calling them. First time experience and I was very satisfied. From the person I spoke from the store, the product I needed, the time it was delivered and installed it only took a few days to have. Not to forget the courtesy and friendliness with the whole purchasing and delivery experience was wonderful. If needed, I will definitely call Airport Home Appliance for future purchases. Thank you!
Terrible customer service, no one reaches out, company charges you for things they don't have
I spoke with a sales person before placing my order, asking when the refrigerator would be delivered. I was told 1 week. I placed an order for 2 appliances, again stating that the refrigerator was needed asap.
I waited a week, and no one contacted me for delivery. I called and was told the delivery would be 2 more weeks away. I waited 2 weeks. I was then told it would be another month. I waited a month, was told 2 more weeks. EVERY time, I had to reach out.
It is basic customer service that, when you give a customer a date, YOU take responsibility and call them on the date you had promised to let them know it will be later than expected, not let them wait around and call you. Every interaction with them has been atrocious.
They charge full price for the order on the day it is placed, even if they don't deliver the item as promised, even though it is generally customary in online sales to charge the customer when the item ships. It has now been 2 months since I placed the order. I have no appliances and no one will return my calls. Beware.

The insurance they offer has not sent anyone out in two weeks after they canceled on me said it would be another week. Total waste of money and no decency to call me back. Bought everything for my new house from them also not just this pos refrigerator.

My GE washer stopped advancing after or during the wash cycle on day 3. I tried troubleshooting the issue for 2 days through the troubleshooting section of the manuel and nothing worked. I called Airport Appliance for the next 3 weeks to get it exchanged but they said I had to have called within 2 days of purchase to return it. They referred me to GE which will only send out a repair person. GE booked me a repair date a week later but on the day of my repair, I was called and told the repair company doesn't have a space for me and didn't know why GE booked me on that day. They gave me another repair date for 2 WEEKS LATER. The repair man came and said he needed to order a main board and and another part which would take another 2 weeks! Mind you, I STILL CAN'T DO LAUNDRY. All the while I am calling Airport Appliance to request they replace the machine instead of repairing a brand new one. I spoke to my sales person named Collin, the Assistant Manager named Andy and left messages for the manager named Luis. Collin and Andy were friendly but directed me to the manager who never called me back. On my last call, Luis was there but was busy with customers so I told the person who answered the phone, "I am forced to come all the way down there since I can't get Luis on the phone so tell him I am on my way". Then 5 minutes later Luis called me. After telling him my whole story (not sure why he didn't already know what my situation was after repeating it to everyone I spoke with) he put me on hold to speak with GE. He came back on the line and said GE will take it back so we will exchange it for a new one. l appreciate the exchange but the 2 stars represent how much fighting I needed to do to get a brand new washer that didn't work replaced. I would like to give more stars because Luis eventually did the right thing but it took way too long. My new washer works...so far, but I am only on day 3.....fingers crossed!
