We were very happy with the Nissan note, served us well on our 6 day trip. No problem at all.

We were given an “upgrade” which was filthy and grubby with a broken tail light and previous occupant detritus left in the doors.
We were told it was full of petrol but it was barely 3/4 full.
Woman checking it in wouldn’t take my word for it and demanded a photo which luckily we had!
2 other complaints whilst I was in the shop.

Ich habe mit meinem Flug zusammen auch das Auto gemietet. In den AGB stand gar nix, dass man das Auto nicht über die Grenze fahren darf, denn in Süd Zypern wollte ich nach Nordzypern fahren daher hab ich das Auto nicht bekommen und ich habe auch mein Geld nicht zurückbekommen Sie haben einfach das Geld behalten, weil man das nicht mehr stornieren darf.

DO NOT USE THEM! I rented a car from Larnaka airport, and paid extra for complete insurance. While driving I scraped the car on a curb. When I returned the car, they would not honor the insurance. So I asked them to refund what I'd paid for the insurance, and they also would not do that. I had to pay them 350 euros for the "damage" because they had my suitcase and I needed to get to the airport (they are offsite). NEVER AGAIN.
Arrived to drop of our car at 3.50am…
Arrived to drop of our car at 3.50am (6am flight ) and was greeted with absolute chaos . Only 1 staff member to pick people up from the airport drop them off and check in and give out the cars . At 4.45 am we were still waiting for a minibus to the airport because the last one going was full. The price might be cheap but this was a joke . I must admit the one bloke working was doing his best but clearly can’t do everything that was due .

Don’t use this company!!! Will try all means to rip you off and car broke down. Customer service is non existence. Reported them to the police for their working practices. Love Cyprus and the people it’s a shame people like this target tourists in this way.
Best car rental I have ever used
I am not really sure why there are so many negative reviews. In my opinion this was the best rental car company we have ever used and we have used quite a few.
When we arrived at the airport we were told to go to car park 5 (Cyprus pathos airport) and wait for the shuttle bus to take us to the car rental location. We waited 5 minutes and were picked up, the journey to the car rental pick up, was 5 minutes away from the airport. We arrived, and were served immediately, there was no waiting time (previous car rentals, we have waited in queues for 3 hours in baking heat). We were given a bigger car than what we had paid for, all our luggage fit into the boot. Myself and my husband went around every square inch of the car, photographing and videoing anything that we felt needed to be added to the sheet they give you with diagrams of the car, where scratches and scrapes have been already recorded. This part takes a bit of time, especially as the car was quite battered. We went back to them to tell them what we had found, and they were great. They didn’t question anything, they just photocopied our updated sheet as proof for themselves and away we went.
Upon return, the process was just as fluid. They were efficient, took the car from us, didn’t even check it and immediately took us back into the office to release the holding fee on our credit card of 1350 euros. We waited approx. 10 minutes for the shuttle bus as there was additional people waiting and then we were dropped off at the airport.
I couldn’t recommend them more.
Tips for travellers to avoid issues in my opinion are: Take the time to check the car inside and out for scraps, dints and anything not already recorded, and mark anything additional you find on the sheet.
Video EVERYTHING!! We opened all doors to record inside the sills, the boot, the roof of the car, we spent the time recording so we had evidence.
Awful hire car and customer service
Not clear where to pick up minibus at Paphos airport. On arrival at desk, only one desk open, meaning a delay after 45 minutes before access to car.
Ordered a compact car, but given a Vauxhall Grand land.
Numerous faults with car, indicator falling off car, binding brakes, clutch constantly alarm going uphill.
Contacted Aercar, not interested in problem, were expected to return car, meaning a round trip of 2.5 hours, with no guarantee that a replacement car would be available.
Took our full insurance, including tyres cover. Had a puncture on a main road. Tyre was bald. When we returned the car, long discussion including being accused of driving off road, which we did not do. Stuck toy guns, and refused to pay for tyre, as it was covered by the policy.
Trued to intimidate, by 5 inspecting the tyre.
Would never use them or recommend them to anyone else.
Be Wary of Aercar's Insurance Policy
We rented a car from Aercar for a week and opted for their most comprehensive insurance coverage. Unfortunately, on the third day, my boyfriend accidentally scratched the car on the side by driving into a curb. Considering the minor nature of the scratch and that there was no involvement of other vehicles or police, we didn't think to call their emergency helpline at the time.
When returning the car, we honestly reported the damage to the staff, who hadn't noticed it during their inspection. However, once aware of it, they claimed our insurance was void because we hadn't called them immediately after the accident, as stated in the contract. We argued that the contract lacked a clear definition of what constituted an "accident" and that other rental companies had covered similar damage without issue.
It seemed to us that, while technically covered, they were trying to avoid paying for the damage. Since we were pressed for time to catch a flight, we ended up reluctantly paying them 200 euros.
So, if you're thinking of renting from them, make sure you understand all clauses in their rental contract, especially those about insurance coverage. Or better yet, choose a larger, more reputable rental company to avoid potential disputes over coverage.

Paperwork was quick and easy and staff were friendly at 23:00 when I rent the car.
We hired a nissan note, automatic, which was clean and fuel efficient. The car was reliable, and we face no problem.

I had the best car rental experience ever. The customer service was exceptionally professional, and what stood out was the immediate return of the deposit after returning the car—an uncommon and much-appreciated bonus. Highly recommended!

Thieves!!! Be careful
The car rent process went smoothly . The car was nice and clean. But unfortunately we had not a great experience with this company.
We had a Dji Osmo Action camera with us, but because we were going to the public beach, we didn't want to take it with us, so we decided to leave the camera under the driver seat. And unfortunately we forgot about that( as we rented the car only for 2 days ). After we realised that we left the camera in the car we contacted the office, and the administrator set that she will try to search for it and also she set that this car wasn't rented to anyone else after us.
We received a call probably after an hour, saying that there is nothing in the car. But we were 100% sure, that the camera is there, so she set that she will speak to the team, who was cleaning the car after our use. But again there was no luck. She even set that the manager will look at the cameras to see if there anyone from staff took the camera while cleaning the car( whish is probably impossible to see).
I understand this is our mistake that we forgot the camera there. But I think is the company's responsibility to inform the customer about the lost property( specially when the things are expensive).
We received only advice to check our luggages. But we knew that the camera was taken by someone from their staff..
So , people be careful with this company!! And check your personal belongings when returning the car.

Refused to give me a vehicle I paid for…
Refused to give me a vehicle I paid for after over hearing a conversation with another passenger talking about kyrenia in Northern Cyprus. The male staff member went in the office obnoxious, rude and told me the booking had been cancelled as I was taking it to Northern Cyprus. There was no discussion it was just that's what I've done.
Do not book. Awaiting refund apparently not their problem as I booked through an agency.
Terrible experience
Battery went flat and had to book taxis which defeated the object of hiring a car! The woman at the Larnaca branch was ill mannered, obnoxious and very rude! No apology for terrible service either. Air conditioning in car did not work. Emergency number was unobtainable. Would not recommend.
Extremely poor and thieves
Extremely poor and thieves. Customer service charged extortionate amount for something that was not my fault. I was charged €50 for side indicator lamp plastic cover missing. Highly likely it fell off at some stage wether on my journey or before I rented. Clearly this is manufacturer fault and not of the user. The bulb is working and functioning! I tried to reason with them but the staff member didn't care and threatened not to drop us to the airport if full amount not paid. €50 is not matching the actual cost of replacement including labour 🙄. AERCAR RENTALS are thieves. STAY CLEAR

Absolute criminals. I took a video of the car on rental day. On return they noticed a chip in the windscreen which was clearly visible on the video I took at the beginning of the rental but the manager insisted that this was done while in my care. I was charged 100 euro to go towards fixing the windscreen chip. Please don't rent a car with these people to avoid a bad experience
An experience on its own
Service great! The car had excitement issues when going up hills and at high speeds, the scream of excitement booming from the car was good fun and the constant question of would it make it up the hill was excillerating. The 69bhp think has no more than 40 left. The fuel cap protector was completely busted and the question of how the hell you open it left me having to pick it open since there was no button or instruction on how to open it. Thanks to that we discovered we have covered cupholders next to the wheel, big plus! The passanger side mirror was electric, but when we recived it did not work. Positive side there is the passanger gets something to do when you need it ajusted, so they will get free entertainment and feel like they are part of the driving journey.
Very nimble car so it was easy to manuver through all of cyprus without worrying it bumping into things. I have always wondered how it was to drive my grandmas couch. All in all, would maybe rent from aercar again but not the toyota aygo. This car was special.
Make sure to take many pictures before and be very thourough, take pictures from every side of the car, raport issues as soon as you find them to avoid any complications later since the cars are not complete.
DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY!
We went to Cyprus twice and both times we booked our car there. Second time around we even recommended it to some friends because we were absolutely happy with the service. When we picked up the cars were told to take pictures of all the scratches the it had (like last time) - which were many as expected with cheap rental cars - but didn’t bother us as it doesn’t affect how the car drives. We were told to never go off-road, which we didn’t. Then we were asked to put our address, so they knew which part of Cyprus we were staying in and went our merry way.
After returning the cars this time, a lady mentioned a new scratch at the bottom front of our friends car. She asked if they had pictures of the car before, and of course we took some. But as it is ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR this part could not be seen in the original photos. She then said we have to pay 230€ for the damage. We said that this is ridiculous, as we did not scratch the car, and they should have told us to even take pictures OF THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. She furthermore said something along the lines of “ah I see you stayed in Polis, the roads there are not good”. No mention of this when we filled out where we stayed upon pick up. We then asked to speak the owner/manager who REFUSED to talk to us. As we had flights to catch we had no other option than to pay the 230€.
We come to Cyprus every year but I will never ever rent with this company again, and neither should you!! There are so many better ones!! Please keep your money!
Side Note: Not quite sure what they do with the money they take from people for scratches as NONE of the cars are without scratches, so it’s definitely not to fix them!
Manners over everything
Overall the car was good, the renting process was quick and easy, and the emergency call was helpful.
HOWEVER: The night I rented the car (11/7 1 am) the airport shuttle driver Andreas was rude, unhelpful and belittling. I think the boss should tell him that he could come a long way with good manners!
The day I returned the car (15/7 8 pm) a bald man with a long beard and a British accent saw my blue badge (disabled parking card), and apparently thought it would be alright to question whether I was truly disabled or not, because there was “physically nothing wrong with me” (his words). This isn’t right, and no one should experience that kind of bad behavior.
