The process of setting up ads is unclear and buggy compared to other platforms. When you call support, you get a guy somewhere in the world with a bad phone connection who is trying to collect personnal information (such as where else you advertise) without a care for your actual problem. When he finally said that he would transfer me to an ad specialist, he just cut of the communication. I suspect that these front "support" guys are actually sales guys trying to upsell you or harvest marketing data.

Worthless, janky site. Runs slower than dial up speed, endless issues and janky. Stay away from.

annoying and so hard to set up, i and others googled my business and could not see it listed but the account says ive had clicks ,not sure how when we cant find it sure its a scam . when you call them you get through to people who cant even speak english or they have trouble understandinng you . and then just hang up on you . save your money dont be conned

I’m a small, service-based business owner using Local Services Ads, and after a short test I’ve turned LSAs off entirely due to lead quality and billing policy.
I was charged $20 per “lead” for the following:
A caller who meant to reach a completely different spa
A caller who asked “how much do you charge?”, said “thanks,” and hung up
A legitimate call that occurred when I was out sick (still billed)
When I contacted support, I was told that due to Automated Lead Crediting, manual credits are no longer possible — even for obvious wrong-number calls. In other words, if a customer dials the wrong business, the financial responsibility is placed entirely on the advertiser.
This effectively turns LSA into pay-to-answer-the-phone, regardless of intent, relevance, or booking outcome.
For solo operators and small service businesses (massage therapy, wellness, personal services), this model is not sustainable. A $20 charge for a wrong number or a basic pricing inquiry is not a “lead” — it’s a failure of intent filtering.
My questions:
How is Google defining “valid” leads when customer intent is clearly absent?
Why was manual crediting removed with no meaningful alternative?
How are small businesses expected to absorb repeated junk calls at $20 each?
I’ve already rated the leads accordingly, but that does nothing to address charges already incurred. Until this policy changes, LSAs are not viable for my business — and I suspect many others feel the same.
Would appreciate a response from a Google representative or Product Expert on how this is being addressed.

Its totally true what everyone is saying! I myself cannot even believe that I am saying this, but Google ads scams BIG TIME. When you onboard the whole process it goes pretty smooth, you’ll get a campaign manager, a technical expert and an advisor that guides you through the process. But after that, these ppl cant help you on anything as they are from a callcenter just arranging the onboarding process. As soon as something was up.. you’ll be left for dead! Thats the real truth about Google Ads.

I started a campaign with Google Ads! There was a promotion offering €400 in advertising credit if you started a campaign within 14 days and spent €400 on advertising within 60 days. I received an email asking me to redeem the offer, but when I clicked the button in the email, I was simply redirected to my dashboard. There was no promotion available, which, according to the campaign specialists, should be there. I reported/lodged a complaint to their department and I only received a response that my case is being forwarded. After that..? Zero response, zero solution! Not even when I told them I had to pause the campaign cause of this. When I lodged another complain guess what… again same story! They just haul you in with a promo that is not possible to redeem.

So, did you worked crazy hard at a product which you are dearly proud of and enthusiastic to think you’re about to launch? Dont go through Google! Not only they will make you regret it, they charge you loads of money first. Oh yeah and the result of the promotion? I didn’t got any clients out of it either. They tell you you need to at least pay 3 months of promotion costs without making any sales out of it. And that’s how incredible Google ads is ladies & gentlemen!

Google Ads is a scam. You set your budget then your accounts says how much you will be charged for the month. They consistently overcharged me by twice to three times the amount and they even admit it then you can't get them to do anything about a refund.

Do not spend your money. This company used to be great and I had loads of ROI in early 2010 campaigns but now it's safe to say it went completely down the toilet. They're not only useless as an advertising platform, they're also a bunch of con artists that will literally steal money out of your pocket. The spend $400 to get $400 promo is also a con. I've had two clients who missed the promo by spending $200 in the first month, upping the budget by 30% for the second month, and spending $180 throughout the second month mysteriously missing the promo by $20 even tho the budget was higher. Their support team, as the platform itself, is completely useless and unsupportive. They only reply to you if you're not complaining and I would like to leave a big thumbs down to Xochille Anne Calixto. It's shocking to me how these multinational BS companies are allowed to trade this way.

Google ads does not work. You will probably only loss your money if you run Google ads. Their support have only one goal which is to make you spend more money.

Google Ads is totaal ondoorzichtig en voelt als een systeem dat vooral is ontworpen om zoveel mogelijk geld te innen, niet om ondernemers echt te helpen. Resultaten zijn onvoorspelbaar, kosten lopen snel op en echte controle ontbreekt.

Wat vandaag werkt, werkt morgen niet meer, zonder duidelijke uitleg. Ondersteuning is slecht of standaard, terwijl je wel blijft betalen. Kleine ondernemers worden hier compleet in de steek gelaten.

Veel beloftes, weinig transparantie en uiteindelijk vooral frustratie en omzetverlies. Voor mij absoluut geen betrouwbaar advertentieplatform.

Esperienza imbarazzante e inaccettabile.
Per due volte abbiamo fissato una call con Vladyslav Tokar per l’attivazione di Google Ads e per due volte non è stato concluso assolutamente nulla.

Ho perso tempo, riorganizzato l’agenda e cancellato altri appuntamenti per ritrovarmi davanti a totale disorganizzazione e mancanza di rispetto per il cliente.
Se questa è la gestione di un servizio a pagamento, è semplicemente non professionale.

Nessuna concretezza, nessuna efficienza, nessun rispetto del tempo altrui.
Sconsiglio assolutamente: se tenete al vostro tempo e al vostro business, rivolgetevi altrove.

Il servizio di Google Ads è stato estremamente deludente e poco professionale.
Ho contattato l’assistenza ben quattro volte nel tentativo di fissare un appuntamento telefonico o una call di supporto. Ogni volta l’appuntamento è stato confermato, ma nessuno si è mai presentato alla call, senza alcun avviso, spiegazione o successivo follow-up.

È inaccettabile che un’azienda di queste dimensioni, soprattutto considerando i budget pubblicitari che richiede ai clienti, offra un’assistenza così inefficiente e disorganizzata. La mancanza totale di rispetto per il tempo del cliente e l’assenza di comunicazione dimostrano una gestione del supporto assolutamente inadeguata.

Esperienza pessima: servizio clienti inesistente, promesse non mantenute e totale mancanza di affidabilità. Mi aspettavo standard molto più alti da Google, ma la realtà è stata profondamente deludente.

Sconsigliato, almeno per quanto riguarda il supporto clienti.

Creé una campaña de 5 días para Black Friday y un mes después seguían cobrándome. El servicio técnico es inexistente... lamentable es decir poco.

Recently had to change my credit card, and they made me go through a convoluted verification process that got messed. Now they won't even let me pay, and their customer support is terrible to non-existant.

Advertising (not anymore)!on google local adds is a complete ripoff because half of the time they send leads (very expensive $50 plus) that have nothing to do with the service you provide and when asked for a refund it’s ALWAYS denied!

When I try to sign in to Google Ads, the page doesn’t load. I called Google Ads support and was told “Google Ads is up and running, miss this isn’t a Google issue.” It’s quite funny being told that, when the Google Ads campaign dashboard itself doesn’t load and gets stuck on the loading screen.
The Google Ads call is a WASTE OF TIME they are not capable of anything.

My company has had google ads for over 4 years. I have spent thousands with Google Ads. My company relocated back to Los Angeles County in 2025. I attempted to update my account with a new business address. Every since then, early 2025 I have been suspended and accused of deceptive business practices by Google Ads.

I have jumped through hoops, bent over backwards, provided state documentation of legitimacy, BULLSHIT VERIFICATION VIDEOS ETC, photos about my business, BUT YET THIS EXCESSIVE POWER COMPANY REFUSED TO UNSUSPEND MY ACCOUNT AFTER THOUSANDS PAID OVER THE YEARS.
If the State of CA documents are not enough to satisfy your power control, then @##@%@#$@$@# GOOGLE!!!!

MY ADS AREN'T RUNNING BUT THE SPAM CALLS ARE OUT OF CONTROL, AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN SINCE INDEXED BY GOOGLE.
I have joined the class action lawsuit.

Google Bucht widerrechtlich Forderungen die strittig sind ab obwohl vorhergehend eine Untersagung von mir erfolgt ist. Support stellt sich dumm. Ich muss mich nun mit deiner Beschwerde an Google Dublin melden. Außerdem werde ich ein EU-Verfahren anstreben.
