Way back in 2019 we first looked at the possibility of trekking.EBC. After alot of research and reading of reviews ,we decided to get in touch with Above the Himalayas Trekking because of the excellent reviews this company got online..From our first contact with Puru we had a feeling this was the company to book with. After a number of emails which were always answered promptly we decided to book with Puru and we paid our deposit for our EBC trek which was to start in early April 2020
However as we know the whole world went into lock down in March 2020.
Puru assured us that our deposit was secure and we could rebook later on when restrictions were lifted. Little did anyone know back then how long Covid 19 would drag on.
Fast forward today .After a couple of false starts in 2022 .We finally got everyone on board again for March 2023.bar one.
Having booked flights from Europe and Australia and our deposit holding good we tweaked the last few details with Puru via What's App..We have to say that from this point it was all over to Puru and everything went without a hitch.Everyone was met by taxi at the Airport and dropped to the hotel.
We had two nights in Kathmandu before the trek and Puru got us direct flights from Kathmandu to Lukla which is alot handier than a 4 hour drive to Ramechappe.We had previously met our guide Sitram at the airport 2 days previously and we then met our porter Buddha in Lukla. Both Sitram and Buddha were fantastic .They did everything possible to make the whole trek enjoyable and as easy as possible..We have to say that the teahouses picked were great and the food was good but a little repetitive after awhile. Great if you like Dal Bhat
To reach basecamp was a great thrill and we were even greeted with 2 days of snow on the way back down which added to the already fantastic views .
We had mentioned to Sitram in conversation that our hotel room in Kathmandu was a little noisy due to a night club nearby Sitram passed this onto to Puru without our knowledge and Puru said he would change hotel for us.As we liked the hotel and location we decided to stay on our return but we were moved to a quieter area of the hotel. This just goes to show the efforts Puru and his staff go to behind the scene so that you can have the experience of a lifetime.
If you are thinking about trekking EBC or any other trip we can't recommend Puru and Above the Himalayas Trekking enough.All you have to do if get yourself to Kathmandu Airport and Puru and his team will look after you from there.

Two thumbs up to the Above The Himalayas team!!! Mr Puru visited us personally when we arrived at the hotel in Kathmandu. On the track our guide Sitaram was exceptional, he took care of everything and treated us with an exceptional level of attention. Of course, when you go on a 10+ days trip some things are not exactly as expected but the team was quick to act and resolve every minor issue. A special note to our porter, Mr Buddha, who we could have not made without. Great team, great service, awesome memories. Thank you guys!!!

Mr. Puru, the owner organized a tailormade itinerary for us based on our stay length and preferred activities, he was very knowledgeable, professional and very fast in delivering the program, we also had a zoom call to discuss the final details. He was always available including for last minute changes and very flexible with our sometimes difficult requirements. All the guides that he provided were also very professional. I highly recommend Above the Himalayas Trekking company to organize your stay in Nepal.

This company is BEYOND amazing. As a solo trekker to base camp, I was concerned about booking the right company. I searched for weeks and compared prices, and for the high quality of service you get, Puru and his company are the best. He handled everything for me from start to finish, and even stepped in and secured a helicopter for me when flights into Lukla were cancelled due to weather. He saved my Trek!

My guide Shiva was incredible. He was very knowledgeable and very caring, and I am proud to say that we became friends over our journey to base camp. I can’t say enough positive things about this company… don’t waste time looking elsewhere, they are the BEST!!!
