I had a very positive experience with Optima Legal in supporting my mortgage application. The process was efficient, convenient, and well-suited to a busy working schedule. Anonymity is the point of this website, you should treat everyone equally.
You want to be better? Why don't you start with having an option to talk to a human on the phone?
It takes me 15 min to get through your A.I. (If I am lucky enough to get through at all).
An A.I. that can't understand when I tell it my date of birth or my postcode!
And when I finally reach you, you tell me to contact my bank.
My bank then tells me to contact you. I'm tired of this game:
You're supposed to make things easier, instead, I run after you to fixing your mistakes!

Remortgage completed very swiftly. Was easy to get in touch with customer service.

I was very with Optima’s service. I found them very efficient in dealing with my remortgage and the conveyancing. Everything was done easily on line, with no need to speak in person to anyone.

Terrible service - we incurred huge late fees on our remortgage because they didn't complete in time. The communication is terrible, and you can never get through - do not use these guys. Pay a solicitor to do the work, and you'll save money in the long run. This is a faceless company of phone operators, no real legal advice here! The first time around, they got the completion date 1 month too early and tried to charge us an early repayment fee, and now we're 6 days over the deadline for completion, and no information has been offered - you get told you're being put through to the urgent team, but there's nothing urgent about them. They sat on a deed of trust for over two months without bothering to review the paperwork and wonder why they're late.

Excellent communication and efficient customer service .

Communication - extremely poor. We returned our signed deed via the supplied 1st class mail envelope on the 13th April 2026. We followed this up a week later because we were getting numerous text messages asking for the deed to be returned. We were told over the phone that there was a backlog registering receipt of deeds, and that they will update us when logged as received.
We called again - another week later to be told the same.
Three weeks later we called back again. This time we were told to log this as a message in the portal. We did this on the 30th May and are still waiting a response. So we called again today 6th May to be told that we had not been in touch with them at all about this (not true) and that they’ve not received the Deed so to start all over again! I wonder if our Deed is sat in a pile of unprocessed documents, or whether Optima have lost it? Like others - we are now on a variable rate with our old mortgage due to the delays.

There is also no clear process to make complaint or request some kind of action such as asking them to try and find the fault as to where our posted Deed document went.

This was our 5th remortgage and the easiest by far . The systems are really easy to navigate and every step is followed up with a phone call to ensure everything is running smoothly .

Worse solicitor of the century award. Terrible communication. Incompetent team. I had to repeat things over and over again. I had to chase and do all the work myself. They do not understand anything and keep repeating same mistakes over and over again. They do not care. They do not care about timelines nor deadlines. 5+ months for the most simple remortgage. Mortgage offer expired and sale will fall through and they do not care. If you want the worse solicitor in the UK go ahead and chose them. Never again.
