Disappointing service and if you are a…

Disappointing service and if you are a UK citizen I would avoid using this firm.

To give background , 1st office have been our accountants for just under 2 years. We have a small online retail business and needed access to professional Estonian Tax advice.

Invoices from 1Office slowly started creeping up month after month, with our final invoice value being 3 times the price of our London Accountants despite being a small business. We found a complete lack of guidance throughout the process, advice is generally given after the fact and the majority of heavy lifting, ie collating all information into specific CSV files so they can basically be drag and dropped into their system very time consuming.

I'm not sure whether there is a cultural or language barrier, ( although we have plenty of Estonian friends who are very polite) but emails we received from 1Office were often quite hostile and rude, with ridiculous time frames attached, ie "you need to reply to this email by 5pm on the same day". We then used to rush to get information over by cut off time, only for the person dealing with our accounts to have left for the day.

There was zero strategic planning or advice given to navigate local Estonian rules and regulations and a generally very frustrating service.

Perhaps they are better equipped to deal with domestic accounts, but if you are an e-residence I would 100% steer clear of this business - I run a business so I am hesitant to give negative reviews but in this instance, buyer beware!

The final straw came, when despite being in the middle of an important month ( and having paid for the month) they terminated their service with no warning mid-month.

Judging by many other reviews, clearly I am not the only UK, e-resident that has had issues with 1Office, and likely won't be the last.

As accountants operating under strict regulatory deadlines, we must adhere to Estonian reporting timeframes set by the Tax and Customs Board. These deadlines are non-negotiable under Estonian law, and we have a duty to ensure all filings are submitted on time to avoid penalties for our clients.

On numerous occasions, we went above and beyond to explain Estonian accounting guidelines and strongly advised against certain activities and practices that we identified as potentially non-compliant or legally questionable. Despite our repeated warnings and detailed explanations, these concerns were not addressed.

As licensed accountants, we have both an ethical and legal obligation to ensure our clients remain compliant with Estonian law. When advice is consistently ignored and practices continue that could expose both parties to regulatory risk, we are duty-bound to discontinue services to protect all parties involved. We provided notice in accordance with our engagement terms.

Ultimately, we can only ensure compliance when a client chooses to cooperate with the mandatory requirements of the Estonian authorities.

I've never encountered an accounting…

I've never encountered an accounting service this disappointed and damaging.

I initially left a 5-star review when signing with 1Office, after calls with Tõnis and Kristine from the sales department. To this day I wonder if they knew what they signed me up to.
My accounting experience since then has been disappointing to say the least.
Despite explaining my business setup multiple times to several team members, I received unclear pricing estimates and incomplete tax guidance. Important tax allowances I’m legally entitled to were never mentioned and only came up after consulting an external accountant.

The lawyer Viire, who was suppose to help me with my legal company name and set up, charged me 93€ for the service, provided via email, and sent me three company name suggestions that were supposed to be legally on the safe side. All 3 names she gave me were already trademarked and I couldn't use them, which lead to a further 2 week delay in my company set up. In the end I did all research myself with the help of Chatgpt and was granted my new company name instantly.
Don't book a lawyer or accounting session with them, it's not worth the money. There are much better services available in Estonia!

More concerning, despite submitting all required documents and monthly reports, my VAT return was running late and I received an official reminder from the boarder control. I had to follow up myself to ensure it was submitted. This happened twice in my 4 months with 1Office.

While my assigned accountant Diana seemed to have tried her best, I never received clear information on my questions, following up several times was the standard procedure for me.
There seem to be serious internal communication issues and inconsistent advice within the team.
In my last month's with the iffice I was blackmailed that I won't receive my company documents unless I pay more money.
I had to hire a new accountant who I paid again to do the work I paid 1office to do.

If you want to live in constant worry of what's going to happen next in your accounting, if you want to feel insulted and treated unprofessionally, 1office is the way to go.
If you do decide to sign with them, ask for a contract and the T&C and make sure they are up to date. Always request your monthly paperwork, so you don't have to worry about any possible set backs/ blackmail later. Put everything in writing, record and transcribe everything and make sure you're on top of it all.

If you want an accountant that's looking out for you, who is available via email and phone, who has your best interest in mind and who treats you like a human being, hire a freelancer!

Das "Lausigste" was ich bislang erlebt habe

Ich habe jetzt mehrere Monate versucht mit diesem "Saftladen" ein Unternehmen zu gründen, da mir das Unternehmen anfangs ein überhaus interessantes und komplettes Service-Angebot gemacht hatte. Leider kam von Seiten des Unternehmens ausser diverser wechselnder Mitarbeiter und Ansprechpartner nur "warme Luft". Als ich langsam dann doch auf Leistung drängte, teilte man mir heute mit, dass sich der Angebotspreis geändert habe und man den Preis für Buchhaltung ändern müsse. Man wolle nun pro Buchung (!) 40 Euro! (Nur für den Laien, das bedeutet, wenn ich zweimal eine Briefmarke für 1 Euro kaufe, dann kostet mich die Briefmarke 41 Euro, weil der Buchhalter von 1Office 40 Euro für das Verbuchen möchte). Das ist natürlich irre. Über die Monate hinweg bekam ich den Eindruck, dass das Unternehmen keine eigene Leistung erbringt, sondern alle Leistungen extern einkauft. Da das Unternehmen seine Serviceleistungen zu Fixpreisen anzubietet, bekommt es dann natürlich ein Problem, wenn es keine Externen mehr findet? Das führt dann wiederum zu Verzögerung, denn man muss einen neuen Subunternehmer finden und zu Preisproblemen, denn wenn man dringend sucht, dann gehen die Preise hoch und irgendwie möchte der Eigentümer von 1Office ja auch noch Geld sehen? Das erklärt dann auch da heutige Angebot zu Mondpreisen erklären. 1 Office hat bemerkt, dass es mit den bisherigen Angebotspreisen nicht klar kommt und versucht jetzt bei der Serviceleitung "Buchhaltung" zuzugreifen?
Ebenfalls äusserst unangenehm ist, dass die Mitarbeiter extrem unzufrieden und unqualifiziert scheinen. Ich vermute, dass hier überwiegend auf Provisionbasis gearbeite wird? Das Risiko für den Eigentümer, offiziell ein Herr Ragnar Everest, ist gleich Null. Irgendwas tröpfelt immer zu ihm durch. Für Kunden und Mitarbeiter ist das Risko ungleich höher. Man wird schlecht bezahlt und ist seinen Job schneller los als man sich das vorgestellt hatte und für die Kunden ist das Risiko einfach untragbar, denn man weiß bei solch einem virtuellen Netzwerk von schlecht motierten Zuarbeitern nie, wie lange man noch überhaupt eine Leistung bekommt und auch nicht wie die Qualität ausfällt. Am Ende haftet eben nicht Herr Everest sondern der Kunde, wenn es um mangelhafte Buchhaltung, Steuererklärungen etc. geht?

Great Support for Accounting in Sweden!

After finally establishing our office in Sweden, the current support for Accounting is amazing: helpful and very fast. However, in the beginning the set-up was a little unclear sometimes and took for us longer to understand the full process. But now it works great, and I am happy to rely on 1Office for our accounting in Sweden.

Brilliant accountant for all company sizes

I have been using this company for over 3 years and they are fantastic. Very well priced, super service and very patient. My accountant Joseph Dawe is absolutely fantasic and very knowledgable about all issues relating to tax & accounting and i couldn't run my business without him! Highly recommend and will remain a customer for many years to come.

Excellent Service. Highly Recommended!

I’m from the UK and have an Estonian company, and have used 1Office for the last 2 years for Business Reports submission, accounting and some company admin.
The service from Mari (Accountant), Viire (Legal) and Igor (Sales) has been excellent.
Mari provided a lot of support in getting things in order when moving over from my old accountant this year. Igor provided a lot of help with a late request for Business reports submission last year and Viire for some Business Registry updates. The service is very good and professional, you always know the costs up front, and it really feels like the team is always trying to do the right thing on your behalf to ensure the company is compliant, and the books are in order. The team have all been a pleasure to deal with, with perfect written and spoken English, and I would highly recommend 1Office Estonia to anyone considering them.

I had a very disappointing experience with 1Office. Their terms of service are unclear, which they take advantage of to charge extra fees. Overall, I do not recommend their service. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for a more reliable and transparent company.

Stay away from this company

I do not recommend anyone to use this company.

First of all, it has come to my attention, that the person they use as a legal contact person for Swedish companies, has been involved in several money laundering cases, which is a major red flag.

I've been a customer with them for 2 years, and recently sold my company. After the sale, they terminated all the agreements with the new owner (business address, legal contact person and accounting) and asked for a payment of +6000 SEK to make the official changes required in connection to this. Prior to selling my company, i made sure that they would be able to assist me with the registration of a new company as well as accounting and a legal contact person, so i could start my new business in Sweden. They confirmed that they could assist me, but after i sold the company, they notified me that they would no longer be able to provide me with any services.

This puts me in a really bad situation, since i already sold my old business, which included the actual company = i'm no longer able to do business in Sweden.

Stay away from them if you're looking for a serious partner.
