Blue Sparrow has been one of the better specialty coffee spots in Denver for a while now, and the move to in-house roasting has made a noticeable difference. Three locations — Blake Street, RiNo, and Platte Street — and the quality holds up across all of them, which isn't a given when a coffee shop starts to scale.
The espresso drinks are well-dialed, the single-origins are worth exploring, and the staff generally know what they're talking about without making you feel like you're being lectured. It can get busy, and like most specialty shops the prices reflect the quality — but that's fair.
If you're looking for serious coffee in Denver without a lot of pretension, Blue Sparrow is a reliable pick.
