Picked up a Solis van in San Francisco
Picked up a Solis van in San Francisco, CA and dropped it off in Seattle, WA. Indie was the easiest and most affordable to pickup in one location and drop off in another.
Bottom line. Be prepared its a rental. Read all details closely when reserving online. We were informed of many details and held to the details and any deviation would concur additional fees.
We attempted to turn in a day early and that proved to be a difficult process. We ended up keeping our original turn in date to avoid any fees.
The pickup location is no where near the airport. Read the pick up time policy very closely. We understood that we had selected a late pickup time of 7pm and if we were later than 7pm we would be charged a late fee. We arrived at 3:30 and were informed that we would be charged hundreds of dollars if we picked up before 7pm. We were able to go find other things to do (although if we had not forward planned we would have been stuck in the remote pickup location) we came back at 5:30 and eventually were given a vehicle.
The vehicle was unwashed (we were told Indie is charged $1000 to use water to wash vehicles) the low tire pressure light was on (after stopping to fill tires we discovered the back tires were dangerously low around 30psi).
The vehicle was not vacuumed
There was a strong strange odor. We later discovered the strange oder was from an uncleaned bathroom cassette that still has waste and toilet paper in it.
The windows were unclean had a strange film on it.
The kitchen drawer was dirty and broken.
The kitchen kit had 3 plates and 3 bowls (supposed to have 4)
None of the zippers work on screens so we had to rely on the main doors to keep bugs out.
Screens broken or missing on most windows.
Water fill hose broken, had to purchase a repair kit.
We could not operate on City water it just kept pouring out of drain.
Water hose sprayer broken. Always stays on.
Had to repair bathroom door so it would stop popping open while traveling.
Grey water did not indicate empty
Our experience dropping off was very much the opposite of pick up. Very pleasant (as we had stopped and washed and vacuumed the vehicle before drop off). There was staff in the parking lot directing us where to park and someone came immediately to the vehicle and helped us out.
