I placed an order on 02/21, it's been almost 30 days and it says it's still processing. No response from CS. I think I've lost my $200 at this point.

I have been paying on an loan from …Avant

I have been paying on an loan from Avant for 2 years without being late once. Recently I took a cut in pay and also lost some supplemental investment income which has made it difficult to keep my head above water. Regardless of this , I have managed to make every single payment to all of my creditors including Avant on time with 0 late on my credit report for years.

I reached out to Avant to see what my options are as most creditors are usually willing to work with customers. The only option they offered was to refinance my loan which I do not qualify for. This is based on my current utilization of credit as I have several accounts I am paying on.

Here is the most common dilemma. If a person has several credit lines and even though they make all of their payments on time their credit score will still not qualify them based on having more than 30% utilization.

So even though companies say they offer debt consolidation loans technically only people who are not struggling can qualify. People who really need assistance lowering their debt can't get help based on their debt. How does that make sense?

If these companies were logical in their approach they would work with their customers by possibly offering a lower rate ( I am currently paying 34 % interest to Avant ) or some type of re aging. Thus insuring that they continue to receive their payments and avoid a loss due to possible bankruptcy.

I contacted Avant last month and explained to the representative that I would not have the funds in my account and to turn off auto pay. The next day my bank account that I have had for 8 years was over drawn because Avant took the payment anyway.

Here is the email they sent verifying that I opted out of auto pay.

We have received your notice that you are revoking Automated Clearing House (ACH) authorization allowing Avant to automatically debit your bank account for your remaining contracted installment payments. If you have not already done so, please contact us to arrange an alternative form of payment. We accept payment by remotely created check, credit card, debit card, paper check, and money order.

Paper checks and money orders can be made payable to:
Avant, Inc.

Should you choose to make a payment via paper check or money order, please include the following information in the mail packet:
1. Your name as it appears on the account.
2. Your customer ID number (please include in the memo field of the check),
3. Your loan ID number,
Should you wish to reauthorize Avant to automatically initiate ACH debits for your contracted installment payments, please contact us by telephone on 1-800-712-5407

All unsecured installment loans issued through Avant are made by WebBank, member FDIC.



This caused a chain reaction which led to two other accounts I have ending up with 30 days late. My checking account is now overdrawn by more than $500 dollars because the bank has charged me over $200 in overdraft fees ( around $120.00 initially and $ 25 every week)

At this point Avant will be last on my list of creditors , If they get paid fine if they don't that's fine also. I'm guessing Web Bank would rather take a 6-7 thousand dollar loss than work with their customers. All of my creditors have offered to lower my payments , I didn't even have to ask .

Avant offered nothing and caused problems with my bank.

Easy to get a loan but that's about it. They will not work with you.

If you want to know the truth about this company do a search for 1 star reviews at the top. All of the responses here from them are the same generic canned responses.
