Inexperienced staff with no support - what could go right?

Chalet Jonquille sleeps 15 and last year was staffed by two experienced hosts who delivered what the company promised. This year, the single host had gone for some reason and we got a lovely young guy who did his very best on his own with occasional support from other young guys. Only on the last day did a solid host turn up and what a difference! So, before that, rooms not ready on day 1, no welcome drinks on day 1, rooms not cleaned, no attempt to learn guest names, poor briefings, breakfast put in the middle for a free for all, evening meals poorly prepared, coffee not made - a guest took on that task - no port on the cheese and port night, ski locker out of bounds for several days. Only one management visit, to take complaints, who only met the other group in the chalet and who did not return except to drop off some chocolates and fizzy wine for another free-for-all.
I want my money back.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to read about your experience, particularly as you had enjoyed your stay with us previously. It’s clear that on this occasion we did not deliver the standard of service you quite rightly expected.

We sincerely apologise for the issues you’ve raised, including the readiness of rooms and the overall organisation within the chalet. During your stay, we did provide some fizz, nibbles and chocolates, along with a complimentary massage each of you, however we fully appreciate that this did not make up for the shortcomings you experienced. We also understand that issues with linen availability, caused by previous guests helping themselves, contributed to the difficulties at the start of your stay.

Our Resort Team is fully aware of the situation and will be addressing all of the issues raised. We are truly sorry that your holiday did not meet expectations. Please be assured that your feedback has been taken seriously and will be used to ensure improvements are made.
