Would definitely not recommend this company

Would definitely NOT recommend this company. Done a PPI claim through them and disputed the large fees they were trying to charge me so I refused to pay them. They took me to court for just over £300 which turned into over £500 with court costs and also weekly interest. I’m disabled so I have to pay it up monthly I also have mental health problems and dealing with this company has been very difficult on my mental health with constant demands through emails for payment threatening even more court action and also threatening to charge me £240 for a trace investigation when I’m late with payment. This has been a totally horrible experience for myself and I’ve been so stressed with the situation. I’ve never been so stressed with a company in my life so I personally would not recommend them especially if you are a vulnerable person.

I would also like to state that this review is my personal experience as I’m allowed to with freedom of speech in this country. I have been threatened to take down my previous review with court action from this company so beware.

Avoid

Avoid , if you change your mind like I did and decide you don’t want to go a head with a claim , they will take you to court and end up with a ccj and a court bill of £380 ?

It is perhaps important to provide a bit of balance to your review.

You approached us in June 2024, and entered into Agreement with us of your own free will on 5th August 2024.

We must assume that you read the Agreement prior to entering into it.

You could have withdrawn from the Agreement without cost within the first fourteen days. You did not do this.

We built and submitted your claim.

Shortly thereafter you were advised that you were in breach of the terms of the Agreement as you had also appointed another party to act on your behalf, and we invited you to remedy the breach.

Again, we must assume you were aware that appointing two parties to act on your behalf placed you in breach of the Agreement, given you had signed the Agreement and it is clearly stated therein.

Shortly thereafter you requested to cancel the Agreement.

Cancelling the Agreement outside of the fourteen day cooling off period sees you liable for our costs incurred up to the date of cancellation. Again, we must assume you were aware of your cancellation rights given you had signed the Agreement and these are clearly stated therein.

Perhaps you would expect not to have to pay a plumber, electrician or any other service provider after they had completed the majority of work for you?

The Agreement was cancelled and you were provided with our invoice for services used up to the point of cancellation. Within the cancellation notice we advised that we would still prefer to work on your behalf (and waive the cancellation invoice), in the event you wished for us to continue to work on your behalf.

You did not respond, nor did you pay the invoice.

As a result of the above, and despite repeat unsuccessful attempts to seek an amicable resolution, the matter was issued to court.

You could have defended the claim. You did not. Instead, you admitted liability to the claim.

The reviewer has used our services in the past, and we simply advised the reviewer of a new service.

The reviewer responded with a torrent of abusive language.

taken to court because i changed my mind…

I started to fill out the forms online and I realise that as I was living abroad, it was probably not the best idea to have them represent me.
I sent an email to say I didnt want them to represent and that I had changed my mind.
They then charged me for following through with them, and took me to court and made a claim for £600 in costs and applied for a ccj

they have now sent an email to say they will pursue the money at an extra cost of £240.00. all because I didn't want them to represent me.

I live abroad in a 3rd world country and lots of things are difficult to do here.
I feel the need to get a solicitor to represent me as this just seems unnecessary the latest email I received was today 4/4/2023

After looking at the response from I can clearly see they have no intention of helping in me…my English mobile is no longer being used and neither has any letters been received by me or my family that I know of. And your money claim can clearly see I have nothing to gain by backing out.

I had to ask at least twice for confirmation of the rules involved and by then they have already taken me to court like they did last time…getting £600 out me
back in 2019 when I asked about the reasons why the money they won was taxed which delayed me paying the fee.

It seems this company will do anything to make money out of vulnerable people.

So I now have two ccj’s because of their unnecessary trips to the small claims court. I will be writing my own article on this which will fact based or get my solicitor to look at this.

We do believe that some clarity is required though.

Firstly, not living in the UK does not mean that a claim cannot be made or pursued.

Nevertheless, you provided your address as being in the UK.

This has been confirmed via Land Registry where you are the owner of the property.

In addition, no post that has been sent to the address has been returned.

You requested to cancel the agreement, which was done in accordance with the Terms of Engagement.

You chose not to pay the cancellation fee, which represents our reasonable costs for work carried out prior to the cancellation of the agreement.

When a case is submitted to court, as you confirm occurred in this instance, the court grants the defendant the opportunity to defend the case.

We have advised you at each step via email, SMS text message, telephone and/or post.

As you have pointed out, this is the second judgment sought due to you previously choosing not to pay our fee for services used in the recovery of compensation.

Good service

Good service, but I’m afraid when it came to paying money claims their fee, they wrote and sent emails none stop, i was on holiday at the time but the email said that i had 14 days to pay, on the same day I received a chq they constantly sent me messages to pay. Ridiculous, will never use them again !!

You were sent an email on 29th June to state we had received confirmation that payment had been sent to you.

You were sent an email on 5th July to advise payment was due.

No other emails were sent to you.

The first two emails were merely pointing out that an offer had been made and that payment had been sent to you.

I do not consider this to be 'constantly' messaging you.

It is probably wise that we provide some perspective on this.

We do not charge 50% for obtaining your tax refund.

Our charges are clearly stated within the Terms of Engagement that you signed.

In your case we...

1. Calculated your refund from the documentation on file
2. Collated information and carried out the necessary due diligence to confirm your claim was valid.
3. Completed the necessary documentation, leaving you to simply sign.
4. Submitted the claim to HMRC.
5. Responded to queries raised by HMRC.
6. Disbursed monies to you.

In addition to the above we had to repeatedly contact you due to you failing to return documentation to us.

For this work we were paid just over £100 which we consider to be excellent value for money.

We encourage customers to read and understand documentation and information that is sent to them, and to contact us if they are unsure of anything.

You sent emails on Saturday 30th April (offices closed), and an email at 4:32PM on Bank Holiday Monday (2nd May), and then put this review online at approximately 10am on 3rd May.

The office was closed on Bank Holiday Monday, and re-opened at 9am on Tuesday 3rd May, so you have complained that we haven't responded to your email inside an hour.

I had this email from your money claim today.

We previously notified you that we are awaiting outstanding documents and/or information from you in order to progress the above named case.

To date, despite reminders being sent to you we have still yet to receive this.

Could we please remind you of our Terms of Engagement that you agreed to upon signing our Letter of Authority. Our terms can be found via (ymc link removed by trust pilot)

You will see from the terms that you are obliged…

- to deal promptly, and in any event within 28 days, with all reasonable requests by Your Money Claim for authority, information, documents and further instructions that Your Money Claim may from time to time require..

We consider you to have breached the Terms of Engagement by not adhering to the above, and we are therefore obliged to advise you that you now have a period of 28 days in which to remedy the breach.

Should you fail to remedy the breach, or provide written confirmation as to why you cannot remedy the breach, it is our intention to terminate the Agreement and pursue you for our Reasonable Costs in accordance with the Terms of Engagement.

Our Reasonable Costs are also explained within the Terms of Engagement.

We remain committed to working on your behalf and sincerely hope the above action does not become necessary.

Now, I have been through all my emails including spam and I can't find any document requests. I haven't received anything in the post and no phone calls made to me. So I don't even know what they want from me.

I have seen some of the other bad reviews on here about ymc but, the replies from the company seem quite hostile and not very constructive. I have noticed they are talking about an individual's finances in a public area without consent. I would call this naming and shaming.

If a company has a problem then I think they should approach the individual in a non-threatening way to try and resolve the issue rather than in the above email.

Update.

They claim to have sent me 23 reminders which to me, is essentially harassment. They also claim I didn't ask for help if I didn't understand what was going on. I sent them an email at 12:39 Today saying I'm not sure what they want from me. I'm yet to receive a reply to this. They just sent me 23 attachments of letters I have not seen. Every one is the same letter which also states by them “sorry for the delay” which is a little hypocritical.

Update

I have searched my inbox and spam folders an not found one of those emails. My search just comes up empty or error. I can prove this if necessary.

I'm also still waiting to see what they want from me. I suspect I will find out after 28 days set in the terms and conditions. They said they need simple information? instead of working with me, I believe they are working against me. Tell me what you want and I will send it to you if I have the information.

We have a contractual obligation to notify customers if they are in breach of the Terms of Engagement, and to allow the customer 28 days to remedy the breach.

In the reviewers case we have requested one simple piece of information from him on no fewer than TWENTY THREE occasions over a period of SIX MONTHS.

The reviewer has chosen not to respond to any of the TWENTY THREE emails, be that providing the information or asking for assistance.

All of the emails were sent to the same email address as the notification of breach of terms, so it is clear the reviewer received them as he has responded to the notification of breach email.

We have today forwarded the TWENTY THREE email requests to the reviewer, and he has confirmed receipt of this email.

The case cannot progress without this piece of information, so any delays at present are being caused by the reviewer.

As the email states, that the reviewer alludes to in their review, we remain committed to working on the case but cannot progress the case until the reviewer remedies the breached term.

We encourage customers to read correspondence sent to them, and to action any requests. Doing so would result in the case progressing and would ensure the customer does not get to the stage where they have to be advised that they have breached the Terms of Engagement.

If a customer does not understand what has been requested we are happy to assist in explaining.

This reviewer did neither unfortunately.

**UPDATE**
The reviewer subsequently provided the information and document requested and the case was successful.
