“Written guarantee ignored — €35,300 lost, no solution proposed”
I purchased a horse through Youhorse.auction in July 2024 for €22,000. Before finalizing the purchase, I directly asked Mario Everse whether the horse had any behavioral or mental issues. His written response was: "No, only a bit green for his age."
Within three months of the horse's arrival, serious and persistent behavioral problems emerged, confirmed by multiple professional riders, trainers, and an ethologist over 18 months. The horse was unable to work near obstacles despite extensive professional intervention.
I invested a total of €35,300 including purchase price, transport, pension, and professional training. When I requested a fair resolution, Youhorse.auction refused any compensation, citing their status as a neutral auction platform — despite the fact that this was a direct private sale personally negotiated by Mario Everse himself.
The horse has now been returned to the Netherlands. No fair solution has been proposed to date.
I have filed a formal complaint with the ACM (Autoriteit Consument & Markt).
All facts stated above are documented in writing.
