Do not even click on yext
So I was trying to put my business location on google map and get it verified and yext came up, and stupidly thinking it was part of the google thing I put in my phone number. Well, I quickly realized it was not what I wanted, and clicked out. I never went further than putting in my phone number. I finished the google verification and all without further issue. Until the phone began ringing and ringing. Multiple diff phone numbers some claiming to be google wanting to verify my business. I stated I was verified and the person tried threatening me that if I didnt do this verification process with her my business would not be visible on the internet. I politely told her I did not believe she was with google and she hung up in a huff. Then I began getting calls from "map verification" so far about 4 a day. I do not answer them. omg. what bullshit. stay far away from yext.
They Do Not Provide what most Businesses Believe They Provide
When you subscribe to Yext, you are paying for a system, not a service. You never own your ecosystem, and you may be left with a mess when you end your contract. My advice: don't do it. They do not provide what most businesses believe they provide. It's better to hire an intern and have he/she work across all your business indexes one by one. Speaking from my own experience.
Extremely Disappointed
I rarely leave reviews like this, but small business owners deserve to know what they’re getting into with Yext.
I paid for Yext for over two years expecting my business listings to be properly distributed and synced across directories. That is literally the core service they advertise. Recently, I audited my account and discovered that a large portion of the listings were never properly connected or syncing the entire time.
After contacting support, I suddenly received around 40 automated emails saying they were “fixing” the listings. That alone confirmed the issue existed. However, despite acknowledging the problem, Yext completely refused to take responsibility.
Instead, they told me it was my responsibility to notify them if their platform wasn’t working — as if I’m supposed to monitor their system for bugs and glitches. I’m paying for the service, not working as their QA tester.
To be clear, I wasn’t even asking for a full refund. I simply said it would be fair to receive one free year since two years of payments delivered almost no value to my business. They refused.
This experience showed me three things:
• 0 accountability
• 0 care for small businesses
• A platform that clearly has reliability issues
For a new business, $400 a year is real money. We take risks investing in tools that promise to help us grow, and when those tools fail, companies should stand behind their product. Instead, Yext essentially shrugged and told me it was my problem.
If you’re a small business owner considering Yext, I strongly recommend doing very thorough research first. My experience was that the platform did not deliver what was promised, and when the issue surfaced, there was no meaningful support or accountability.
Small businesses deserve better than that.

This is hands down the worst experience…
This is hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a vendor. I do marketing for a hospital in Maryland. After we signed up with Yext, Google started flagging our doctors' Google business profiles, our search results were getting screwed up, and it became very difficult for us to create new profiles for the doctors we had just hired. We repeatedly asked Yext to look into it, but our requests never went anywhere because we kept getting a new account manager every month. Seriously, we had five account managers in six months because they all kept quitting the company.
After months and months of ruined search results and total indifference from Yext, our 400th account manager FINALLY uncovered the answer. Turns out Yext had connected our doctors' Google business profiles to a completely different hospital in Minnesota with a similar name. No apologies, no offers to even partially refund the tens of thousands of dollars we had spent months wasting on their "services." Just a shrug and a "whoops, we'll fix it."
My teammates and I can't wait for our contract to be up so we can finally cut this company loose and never look back.

If you get a whatsapp message offering jobs without them calling you ... be wary. This is fraudsters pretending to me a reputable recruitment company

Avoid this company at all costs. After a week and a half of attempting to get a demo I received and email that asked me how much money my company made. I'm the IT guy, I do not have that info and why does yext need it other than to over charge us for their service? The next day I received another email attempting to pawn us off on one of their partner companies. Keep in mind I have not had any communication from them for over a week. I was not given a price or spoke to a rep to see if their service was even the right fit for our 150 locations. My experience with Yext has been one big red flag from the very beginning. I feel like I have dodged a bullet.
Pro & cons
If you’re looking for a company that can genuinely boost your business exposure and help you grow, I highly recommend Yext. After using their system, my revenue increased by 45%, which was a significant and tangible improvement for my business. The platform itself is very powerful, offering a wide range of tools to manage, optimize, and enhance your online business listings, ensuring that your brand gets maximum visibility across multiple platforms.
That said, there are some drawbacks. Their customer support can be slow, and at times inquiries go unanswered, which can be frustrating if you’re expecting immediate help. Additionally, the system is relatively expensive, so it’s not ideal for those without a clear plan or sufficient budget. However, for me, the investment was more than worth it spending a few thousand dollars to gain a 45% increase in revenue is a no brainer.
One thing I highly recommend is to consult with their team before getting started. If you have a solid business plan and know how to leverage the tools properly, you can maximize results and avoid wasting time or money. While some people who earn a lot from the system may not leave reviews, I can personally attest that it works if used strategically. For anyone willing to invest thoughtfully, Yext provides a win win opportunity yes, it costs money, but the growth and exposure you gain far outweigh the expense. Overall, it’s a highly effective system for businesses looking to scale, increase sales, and improve their online presence

Horrible! They are reporting inaccurate business information. Our company name, phone number, and website address are not correct. We didn't ask them to report or manage our information, and they do not allow you to manage your own. It's IMPOSSIBLE to contact ANYONE at the company! Their system is built to take you around in circles.

Yext is blocking our local listings and holding us hostage. We never signed up with Yext in any way.
We had an IT vendor that closed shop. Apparently, they had an account with Yext and went out of business (closed shop). We never used this IT vendor for local listings in any way. We manage local search using Bright Local.
For whatever reason, they are holding our listings hostage because this IT vendor, who closed shop one year ago, had an account for their own business.
Unethical and non-responsive.

Customer support is shocking. I've tried messaging them multiple times and not heard anything back. In a contract, paying for a tool that is providing no use. Awful.
Yext is the worst tech company in the world.
Yext is one of the worst tech companies of all time. DO NOT use them, you WILL be sorry. They are way overpriced for what you get and I've heard so many horror stories about others being ghosted by them. And now we're being ghosted. I asked to cancel my contract with them before the renewal came up, but nobody got back in touch with me. Why? because none of the reps who were my contact points in the beginning are with the company any longer. That really tells you everything you need to know about them. I think they have a serious issue with"churn" because they are such an unethical company. They force you into a "commitment level" contract. Obviously they know that customers come and go, but they don't work with companies like other normal companies would. But listen to what happened to us. We were forced into a commitment level far above the amount of clients we had, even though we kept growing and came close to that level over time, we never matched that commitment level. We had a medical client who was aggressively growing and our billing with them was growing along with it. There were a many additional websites that we built and maintained for them. But out of the blue, the owner of that company committed suicide and they ended up having to shut everything down, because he was running the whole company without a succession plan. It was also jarring to us because they had grown to be a large percentage of our monthly billing. But Yext will not help businesses by modifiying these ridiculous commitment levels. When you go shopping in a grocery store, do they force you to commit to a certain level of grocery purchases? Hell no. You pay for what you get, but that's not the way this awful company works. STAY AWAY FROM YEXT, and thank me later.
TO ANSWER YOUR REPLY, YEXT SLAVE: You've underscored my point, because we DID use Yext's services from 2020 to 2021, but we moved on to another company that was even worse, so in a desperate move we went back like somebody going back to an abusive relationship in 2022 to now and it was still the same abusive relationship. Do your homework before you blindly reply to a review. (They removed their first nasty comment)
FINALLY: We are now officially off their site and my clients have been negatively impacted as if they never had any SEO services. They will tell you that when you disconnect they won't sabotage you, but it looks like that is EXACTLY what they do. Really bad company, they talk a big talk but can't deliver on any of it.
Holding Us Hostage

Their support is nonexistent and I see so many other complaints about this same issue. This is probably illegal and a class action should be brought on Yext.
Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible. I've asked to cancel my yext partnership 3 weeks ago and still haven't received a reply. I've also contacted their legal department and not gotten a reply. They continue to charge my credit card so my only solution will be to get a new credit card #. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!
Nothing short of extortion
I signed with Yext several years ago and still feel the negative effects on my small business. It seemed like a great deal at the time. Yext will list your business profile on as many as 40 different directories that you can manage them all through your Yext account. Change any elements of your profile on Yext and all your directory profiles are automatically updated. What happens when you cancel you subscription with Yext? I will tell you.
You are locked out of your these accounts because Yext claims them as theirs. That's right. ! It's your website and it's your business but you are locked out from making any changes without renewing your subscription with Yext. You can not login, or request to reset your password. You are redirected to Yext and directed to renew your subscription. Nothing short of extortion. Google now looks a the constancy of your website information on search engines, directories, citations and posts. As a direct result, from the business practices of Yext, my information is not consistent. That includes address, phone number, business hours. I can not update these profiles resulting in a loss of Google rankings and lost of revenue. I do not recommend any small business use Yext. BEWARE!!!!!
