This company made a bereavement situation worse
I ordered a worktop which was delivered in great condition. My kitchen refit was meant to start the next day but was delayed due to a bereavement on the tradesman's side. The work started 5 or 6 weeks later, on day one the tradesman said my worktop was unsuitable. I emailed Worktop City explaining the bereavement situation that caused the delay and the reasons why the unopened worktop was unsuitable I attached a copy of my invoice receipt. I got no response at all, I wanted to return it, it was unused unopened. I didn't have the opportunity to send it back immediately because the tradesman was grieving and didn't see it prior to the loss so I didn't know it was unsuitable. I waited weeks for a response from them to this day I didn't get one and unfortunately I still have the worktop I can't use. Terms and conditions are there for a reason however there should be exceptions made for extreme unforeseen circumstances. Sadly that didn't happen in my situation. The low score is not for the actual product itself but for the lack of empathy and response to my email.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We're pleased your worktop arrived in perfect condition, but we're very sorry to hear about the circumstances that delayed your kitchen installation. Our sincere condolences go to everyone affected.
We also apologise if your email was not responded to. That is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we understand why this added to your frustration.
Unfortunately, while we appreciate that your situation was completely unforeseen, our suppliers will not accept worktops back once the statutory return period has expired. As a result, we would be left with sending our own van out and potentially sat with an item that may not be resold, so we have to apply our returns policy consistently to all customers.
That said, we completely understand why you were disappointed, and we regret that we didn't have the opportunity to explain this to you at the time. We appreciate your feedback regarding our communication, as this is something we continually strive to improve.

As you ordered 2 samples from 2 different manufacturers these will arrive at different times, as stated in the ordering process samples from Bushboard can take 7-10 working days, the order is still within this time so you should receive shortly

Good evening I can see you ordered a free sample on 2nd July. As stated on our website samples from some brands can take up to 10 working days unfortunately Bushboard you ordered falls within this timescale. I cannot see that you have contacted us about this before leaving us a poor review. We hope when you receive your free samples you are happy with them

I needed extra long counters to minimise the number of joins. My kitchen fitter recommended Worktop City and I am so glad that he did. They offered a wide range of worktops at very reasonable prices and were very fluid over the delivery date. Highly recommended.

Excellent prices
Excellent prices, have to check carefully, it was cheaper per item to a smaller amount. Everything was good, the delivery was acceptable but not rapid.

First email ignored. Second email asking why I got no reply was answered almost instantly, so I repeated the first email and got ignored again!
Followed up again for them to reply instantly claiming it’s just human error and urging they are on the phone.
My query involved providing and asking for links to products on their site, clearly a phone call isn’t suitable for this.
Their replies (when you do get them) are just unprofessional. If they can’t even answer an email properly how can you expect them to supply a kitchen? One of these things is way easier than the other.
They also apparently don’t sell doors to match the cabinets they sell… which is ridiculous.

Customer made an email enquiry we replied and missed the customers reply back querying details on a product, today we where met with a passive aggressive email regarding him not getting a response to his query we pointed out that we also provide telephone support. Cabinets are made out of different materials to the doors and as such doors don't usually match the cabinet colour/ finish. We hope the customer gets sorted elsewhere. Looking at this customers feedback of companies they very rarely give more than 1 star.

This customer ordered the postformed variant instead of the square edge variant. we collected the product but customer wasn't happy with the return carriage fee, we did waive this as a gesture of goodwill, but customer still unhappy original carriage fee not refunded. In summary customer error and expected us to foot the full bill.
