Above and beyond for new driver
1 year since I bought my very first car from wonderland cars - it's still in excellent condition, very reliable.
This is my first car, the guys drove it and hour too me just to let me check it, no pressure to buy. I was nervous that they would take advantage of my lack of experience - as I hadn't even passed my test yet. They did a test drive for me, with me as passenger. Very understanding and honest about the ups and downs and history of the car, gave me ADVICE not sales pitch.
When I told him my test wasn't for 3 months, he extended my 3 month warrantee to 6 so I would actually be able to use it.
Absolute legends. 10/10 service. Above and beyond.

Awful, paid upwards of £50 for a remote control JCB only to find that it doesn’t work, very disappointed and truly disgusted with customer service, never ever use this company, my grandson is devastated that his birthday present doesn’t work

The RC landrober we ordered as a Christmas gift developed a fault after the first use. I'll admit, doing anything about it fell to the bottom of my priority list. When I contacted wonderland 6 weeks after purchase they asked me to return the item back to them for inspection, the day they received it they offered a replacement, after a short discussion about the original item they offered us a superior replacement to suit out needs better, which was an unexpected but very welcome gesture. The customer service we received was brilliant, swift and effective. Thanks again team, we'll definitely use this shop again and would happily recommend them. We are regularly asked about the boys RC cars when we take them to the park, from now on this is where I'll recommend people go for a reliable and friendly service 👌

Items were oversold and my order delayed
This was my second order with this company and my second issue.
I was called twice during work hours with no voicemail left, so I returned the call blindly while on the school run. The conversation with James opened with “I emailed you” rather than explaining what the issue actually was. At the time, I thought the poor man simply lacked social skills, but in hindsight it only got worse, and the skills he appears to lack are not only social. It is important to add that the email was sent at 15:03, so I had not yet read it.
James informed me that the items I ordered — which were shown as in stock on their website, hence why I ordered them — were not actually in stock and had sold out. As the stock turned out to be unavailable, it delayed my order and meant missing items intended for my son’s birthday. I was completely understanding, and I requested that the items that were currently in stock be sent now and the remainder fulfilled later when they returned (stock was due in approximately 12–14 days from France). This is how most reputable retailers handle partial fulfilment issues caused by their own error.
Instead, I was told this would not be done unless I paid additional delivery, despite delivery already having been paid and the stock error being theirs. James informed me he could send what they had in stock; I told him it was no longer worth the cost of delivery. He then stated that in the email he had also offered to replace the items with stock they currently had. I read the email after the call — he had not made that offer. The only option offered in the email was to remove the unavailable items and send what they had, meaning I would be penalised for their inaccurate stock information.
As the only option offered in writing was to remove the unavailable items and send the rest, the adjusted order total became £27.22 plus £4.99 delivery (Edinburgh to Glasgow), meaning delivery alone would have been almost 20% of the final order value. Due to this rigid and unreasonable stance, I cancelled the order. Supporting small businesses should not mean accepting poor and inflexible service.
I chose to shop here to support a smaller business instead of Amazon. Unfortunately, there was no accountability, no flexibility, and no interest in preserving the customer relationship. Mistakes happen. What is not acceptable is passing the cost and inconvenience of those mistakes onto the customer. James’ clear expectation was that I should simply accept their error, absorb the consequences, and be satisfied with the sole resolution imposed, adjusting my expectations to accommodate their woeful lack of customer service.
I have since made the same order via another stockist (toysandlearning,) and the delivery was much cheaper!

Bought an RC boat which didn't work. Wonderland made every part of returning it awkward including arguing the toss and telling me I should have read the instructions. After mansplaining to me and failing to understand I did...They now have it and have not refunded us. Poor child wondering what he did wrong.

The Communication with the Customer Service Department couldn't be better. The Team were faultless in answering a query of mine as to whether my payment on-line had gone through and the Team were quick to respond, making me feel that I was their only Customer.

I was on my first trip to Scotland and we went to Edinburgh so searched for a model shop as you do lol found this gem . Amazing shop , helpful staff could have easily spent all day in there . Got all my purchases back to Sunderland safe and sound . Marvellous shop and staff

Deserve Zero stars
The 100 shot caps from Wonderland models were absolute garbage, barely any of them worked, and the few that did were pathetic. Total waste of money.
I've used these caps bought elsewhere many times before and they've always worked as intended, their ones are obviously faulty and have deteriorated. it's shocking that they even sell this kind of junk.
When I reached out for help, customer service was useless with no apology or refund and completely uninterested in fixing their own mistake. Instead they tell me the caps are just supposed to make a puff of smoke with no noise but they didn't even do that.
This company clearly doesn’t care about quality or their customers. Save yourself the frustration and spend your money elsewhere. For the sake of a £5.98 refund they rather receive a scathing but true review.
I also bought other items in the same order totaling £30 which were fine. The bank will now be dealing with this to get my £5.98 back.
It's a small amount of money but it's the principle, I don't like getting scammed

Expertly packaged and protected, it was a (fun) ordeal getting the wrapping off.
Now I've realised just how big it is, I need to empty the workbench completely. I could buy a paddle and use the Hull as a canoe !!

Ordered two items I needed for a competition I was taking part in. It showed as in stock on the website when ordering, so I paid for next day delivery. Three days later nothing received and nothing emailed to apologise for lack of item given I’d paid £7.99 for NEXT DAY DELIVERY. Upon phoning, explanation was “we ran out of overnight”. Where was the contact to confirm order status? Very poor, very disappointing…and I am now unable to attend the competition I’d ordered the items for and my entry fee is non refundable. Thanks…

Great technical help, poor customer service and non existent quality
After nearly 60 years of not having anything to do with model kits. I have started making them again. Wonderland Models has been a great place to get them. Four aircraft in all I’ve had including two biplanes - all Airfix. Plus paints, glue, filler, brushes and a set of tweezers, that one of the counter staff persuaded me to buy, that have been really helpful for applying decals and securing small parts. In fact the product and technical knowledge of the staff has been a major reason to keep coming back. However today has been a sad disappointment.
Just before Christmas, I bought an Airfix model of HMS Victory. I wish I’d looked inside the box before taking it to the counter because then I would have got something else. It had extensive flash running across two of the mouldings. So this afternoon I took it back. When I got to the main counter at the door and explained my reason for returning it, the guy behind the counter told me to see Ian the manager because Wonderland Models didn’t accept returns (I may have misunderstood him but I’m pretty sure those were his words). So I went down to the end of the shop, and Ian came over. When I told him the situation, at first he didn’t want to do anything about it. His sidekick at the counter had a look at the box and explained that it was a 1960s mould. It was the customer’s job to clean the moulding up. What did I expect? Well, as quality engineer at two moulding subcontractors who did work for (amongst others) Vauxhall, Glaxo and MoD, I personally expected better. I could feel myself getting hot under the collar so I suggested a swap which Ian agreed to. I got a Tamiya F35 at the same price and there would be no paperwork.
However it got me thinking after I left, if I’d been some spotty twelve year old, I would have been sent out of the shop with my tail between my legs. I’ve always thought that building models is an excellent introduction to an engineering career. But how many young aspiring engineers would be encouraged to go further after a tedious day or two taking excess plastic away from between scores of tiny canon mouldings?
Needless to say I won’t be back.

Trying to keep my money for something they haven't done
purchased an rc car on Thursday the 12th Dec and paid £7.99 for next day delivery.
when I phoned on the 15th to recieve more information I was told the item was not Instock. but was due in within the next few days. not a problem however I did ask for some form of refund on the 7.99 next day delivery fee.
mainly as I didn't recieve the service I payed for.
the answer was NO!
my next step was to cancel my order. if a company expects to keep my money for a service they have not provided they can think again.

I ordered a large range of paints from Wonderland, but for some reason the form filling software on my laptop put in the right house name and address, but instead of my correct Middlesbrough post code, added Somerset and a Bath post code. There is indeed a house at this Bath postcode with the same name as mine. The courier delivered it there on 29 November and texted me a photo of the handover. I phoned Wonderland. They asked me to confirm it all by email, which I did soon afterwards, so that they could attempt to recover it and then send it on to me. I accepted there would be a charge for this. Since then I have heard nothing from them, despite asking for an update on 6 December. Very poor customer service. Even if they have made no progress with the courier company/wrong recipient, they could at least have kept me informed. I would not be keen to give them my business again.

Excellent!
I just bought my grandson some model knights for Christmas. My usual retailer for toys is Amazon for the free delivery, but these are a much better price at Wonderland models, even taking account of the cost of delivery. Ordering was straightforward and delivery was fast. I’m very happy.

I normally use a different online service, they didn't have all the paints I was after. After jumping on WM I got all that was needed to complete a model. After the great service I decided to grab all the colours for my next build too which are still on route. Not sure if this is normal or not but I got two free plane magazines from '89 and '91. PRETTY SWEET!!

You seem like a decent supplier but why on earth do you use DPD for deliveries? They are rubbish! Even though I was at home and waiting and a note on the door with instruction the driver told blatant lies about a missed delivery. Because of this I will not risk using Wonderland Models again. In your answer WM you seem to have missed the point entirely! The whole point is thet did not attempt to deliver it and I DID NOT REQUEST ANY ALTERNATIVE CHOICES FOR DELIVERY.
