Worst service ever
I can't remember a worst service experience than that received at Wildwood Ely last night. Service wasn't just slow, it was stationary. The restaurant wasn't busy yet it took 15 minutes before anyone asked if we wanted a drink. We ordered our first two courses at this time as well and waited, and waited. Drinks arrived but we had been in the restaurant for 45 minutes before our starters arrived. Our main courses arrived 15 minutes after finishing our starters but my dish was missing the fries I ordered. I mentioned this to the server but 15 minutes later they still hadn't arrived. I finished eating my steak, and my wife finished her meal, still no fries. The chap who I told about the missing fries just stood staring at the till with his back to us. He never went to check with the kitchen, nor did he ever return to our table. When another server came to take our plates away I asked what had happened to my fries that I had reported missing some 20 minutes ago. He had no idea and just stood there apologising. There was no management oversight nor did anyone ask if our meals were OK. The service was so bad the server said the cost of our meals would be discounted. I don't want free food, I want a meal without hassle that I enjoy. This certainly wasn't that. Never will I return here.
Absolutely disgusting visit, animals treated horribly…
You are sick. Firstly, the space you are giving these animals is disgusting, they should have space to roam free. Secondly, the enclosures are like a dump, you are obviously not looking after them properly. Next, these animals are literally depressed, you can physically see it on their faces; there was a bear for example who had an operation but was left running around in distress because it was left in a tiny enclosure with no company, or you could talk about the arctic foxes , who were all just curled up in balls in the corner of their enclosure. I’d also like to add, why would you put down those wolves? They have been a pack for years and would have no obvious reason to start attacking each other, so surely something must have been majorly done or changed to make this happen. I don’t know what you are doing to these animals, but whatever it is needs to be stopped and handled professionally. You need to be closed down and the animals sent to a better place ; not euthanised..

I am sorry… but I will now put this restaurant on the category next to Asda and Matalan and another shoe shop that disappointed me years ago and never stepped foot in it again. Your meals and the changes you have made do not reflect the costs you are imposing to customers. I do not eat out, but sometimes I enjoy a well made pizza. Not from you anymore. Feel sorry for the staff as they are good. Good bye.

Over cooked food
Normally the food isn’t that bad. But last night it was awful. It’s clear they are not capable of catering for large amounts of people. Most of the food I had was inedible. Calamari was over cooked and greasy. The pigs in blankets were as hard as bullets. The turkey was so dry and there was barely any gravy roast potatoes were edible but burnt in places. There wasn’t much vegetable choice just Brussel sprouts. The flourless chocolate cake had a weird taste to it.Portion size was so small definitely wasn’t value for money. Bit disappointing for a Christmas party.

The Ely, Cambridgeshire restaurant was amazing. We had a large booking for our works Christmas meal and we were well looked after by the staff. The food was excellent, all came out at once, hot and beautifully plated. Again the staff were a credit and nothing was too much trouble.

Ordered a vegetarian pasta dish which…
Ordered a vegetarian pasta dish which came with strips of chicken. Dinner ruined. Contacted Wildwood Epping who first tried telling me that I must have added chicken, but when I checked my order it was clear that I’d ordered a plain vegetarian pasta dish.
Wildwood Epping then insisted that there is nothing they can do as it was ordered via Uber.
I pointed out that Uber did NOT prepare the order all they did was deliver it.
Wildwood Epping, regular customer lost.
Avoid this place. Find somewhere else to eat.
The last time I visited Wildwood, I experienced slow service despite the place being empty as I recall waiting over 20 minutes just for a drink and dessert.
At the end of my meal, they added a service charge without asking me. I was waiting another 20 minutes just to find someone to talk to about getting the service charge taken off.
Afterwards I had to wait even longer just to get my revised bill with the ‘optional’ service charge removed.
How is a service charge ‘optional’ if it’s added to every bill without asking you first? I raised my feedback multiple times on previous visits and they’ve ignored my feedback in changing this policy.
I’ll never come back again. What a massive waste of my time. 👎
Just poor.
Popped into the Lincoln branch for a late lunch whilst out shopping on Saturday, when being seated was told there was a 20 min wait for food due to some big tables.
After we were seated no member of staff came to our table to take our meal or drink orders for 25 mins by time our food came out we’d been waiting 45 mins. Whilst waiting I saw a couple who were seated after us being served and left before our food was even brought out. It felt like we had been put in a corner and forgotten about.
Food was ok, nothing special and my Philly cheesesteak was burnt. Paying an additional £5 for a tiny portion of unseasoned chips felt like a rip off, as did £4 for 330ml of cola.
We chose not to have pudding due to how long the service had taken. When our plates were cleared we asked for the bill, this took a further 15 mins. When they brought us the bill I asked to pay straight away so not to be kept waiting any longer.
At no point during our visit did anyone check our food was ok or if we needed anything, even when our glasses were empty.
Overall the service felt poor at best and we left disappointed.
Taunton
All aspects of our visit on Sunday were outstanding. Fab menu, delicious food, seated us exactly as we had asked for, service first class, reasonable prices and great ambiance. We had taken a birthday cake for our 6 year-old, and it was dealt with as we had hoped, and the child felt like a princess. Definitely recommended.
Wildwood northwich
My mum and I visited wildwood in northwich and it was fantastic from service to the food. We were served by MEL and she was brilliant! I would absolutely go back.
Consistently good at Lincoln branch
Always great service at the Lincoln branch and the food is splendid and good value. My 6 year old grandson loves going there as does my mother so suits all ages.
Extremely Disappointing Experience — Avoid at All Costs
We came across this restaurant on Google while on a short visit to Wales. It looked promising at first, but unfortunately, it completely ruined our trip.
From the moment we ordered, things started going downhill. We were told they had run out of rocket, which turned out to be a recurring theme with most of our selections. A mixed salad was offered as a substitute, but when the food arrived—both starters and mains—we were very disappointed. The quality was poor, and the taste just didn’t seem right. We ended up leaving several dishes uneaten.
Out of respect for the friendly staff, we chose not to make a scene. They did notice our dissatisfaction and offered a small discount, which we appreciated at the time.
However, later that evening, both my son and I became violently ill—with vomiting and stomach upset lasting through the night. We had to cancel our plans to visit Zip World the next day, losing both time and money.
We reported the issue to the restaurant, and after over six weeks of waiting and back-and-forth communications, we finally received a response: a £50 voucher to dine there again. Frankly, this was a completely inadequate response given the severity of what we experienced. After what we went through, why would we ever return?
The incident has left a lasting impact—my son is only just starting to eat salad again, and I still can’t stomach the thought of steak. We are now in the process of pursuing legal action to ensure no other family has to go through what we did.
As a family that has dined all over the world, we have never encountered anything quite like this.

Company pricing policy misleading at best. Ordered a double cheeseburger with fries. Charged £12.99 for burger, £4.99 for fries separately. So true cost £17.98. Excuse: "Its cheaper this way". Bill came for me and two others £3.00 per head service charge added to bill with out permission. I get the impression they hope no one notices.

It was our wedding anniversary so we decided to go out for lunch we chose wildwood restaurant in hinckley. Never been before but was tempted by the over 60's offer of a starter or a sweet, main and a drink for £10. Thought it would be small portions but we were full. Superb food, lots if gluten free options beautifully presented and hot. Great attentive friendly staff.

If booking for lunch then read the small print. I didn't and finished up paying nearly double what I anticipated.
Gerrards Cross branch
Gerrards Cross branch. A lovely looking restaurant and all staff were great. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. However the meal was very disappointing. Ordered spaghetti bolognese and received a bowl of mainly spaghetti with very little meat, absolutely no sauce with a watery puddle at the bottom. Being Italian I know this is not the way to make a bolognese! The Father's Day mixed grill was extremely dry and the vegetarian pizza was far too overloaded with vegetarian cheese. The only things we really enjoyed were the drinks, chips and the dessert. Such a shame.
Welcoming, warm atmosphere
From the moment we walked through the door we felt very welcome and at home.
All statf are friendly and attentive. We didn't have to wait to be served for either drinks or food orders.
The restaurant is very clean and also cutlery etc.
The perfect atmosphere for an enjoyable meal.
