We were promised a dream kitchen to be fitted within 8 to 10 days, it was eventually completed after 2 months. The installer (xander designs) only did 1.5 days work in week 1, 3 days in week 2 & 2 days in week 3 leaving us with plastering to complete, damaged doors to be replaced and missing doors, upstands and sealing to be completed which was eventually completed after 2 months.
The installer demanded payment for the extra installation works at the end of week 3 before completion and if we didn’t pay he would be prioritising other customers, so basically pay up or your already late kitchen would be even later!. These extra installation works costs are also a rip off, we discovered the actual plastering costs were less than stated (installer basically pocketing the difference), we also paid for an electrical part P certificate which has still not been received (0ver 3 months) so yet more money (£120) pocketed by the installer for nothing. Wickes also tried to get this certificate, but failed and are not progressing it.
Wickes support was not helpful, no one from Wickes bothered to come to see the state of the install, we constantly had to chase up progress with multiple promises of return calls, but seldom made, we even had to ring the waste disposal company directly to get the waste removed as Wickes/installer didn’t seem be doing it. We asked for escalation to senior management in week 2 but this eventually happened in week 5 but his initial contact basically asked ‘what was the problem’ which being week 5 of a 2 week install was pretty obvious…! We then heard nothing again until we e-mailed the Wickes CEO in week 6 and even then it seemed the installer was still in charge and didn’t respond to Wickes requests for updates, eventually returning to complete the works when he chose too.
We have received a small amount of compensation but this in no way makes up for the stress and frustration caused over the 2 months of the install but we wanted it to be over so did not want to get embroiled with the ombudsman process dragging this sorry saga out even more…
So the main points are,
do not accept the professional installer appointed by Wickes is professional, check them out yourself first or preferably use your own installer.
Challenge the additional works costs as the installer could be pocketing money for nothing.
Don’t expect Wickes installation support team to be very helpful if things don’t go to plan and even going to the CEO doesn’t actually get anywhere with the installer.

We were absolutely delighted to receive the opportunity to select items from instore that would assist towards our project! We cannot thank you enough for your generosity, kindness and support. We've recently had our kitchen designed by Jenny at Wickes, Winsford and we are incredibly happy with the service. No ask was too big or too small for Jenny, and she created us just what we were looking for. When my partner made a silly DIY mistake when fitting one of the units, Jenny quicky helped us resolve the issue. Highly recommend Jenny!

Jenny from Wickes Winsford designed our kitchen for us, and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. She came out to take all the measurements, listened carefully to our ideas, and also suggested some great options to improve both the layout and overall look of the kitchen.

We recently purchased our kitchen from Wickes in Winsford, and we would like to say a big thank you to Ben Smith, who designed and helped us with the whole process.
Ben was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and patient throughout. He listened to what we wanted, offered some great ideas and made the whole process of designing the kitchen much easier than we expected. Nothing was too much trouble, and we always felt that he genuinely wanted to make sure we ended up with a kitchen we were happy with.
We installed the kitchen ourselves as a DIY project, and thanks to Ben’s design and advice, everything came together really well.

My local Wickes which is my go-to store for all my DIY needs. I've recently bought a mixer tap and fittings, cement, Postcrete, decking screws, paint, and a Wickes own-brand cordless drill. We've also bought a complete en suite shower room, which was fitted by a Wickes-approved installer. A well stocked store with friendly, knowledgeable staff.

I cannot stress enough how amazing Jen from the Winsford branch has been.
From our very first meeting where she designed our kitchen, she listened to our needs and to our budget, she was fantastic! Even more so , as she well and truly went above and beyond when we hit a major, incredibly stressful bump in the road.
Due to a delivery mistake , only half of our kitchen arrived, and we were accidentally left with someone else’s order.
It could have been an absolute nightmare, but Jen stepped in immediately to sort it out, as you can imagine our anxiety levels were through the roof, as we also had the fitter waiting to start work which we had to contend with.
She took total control—dealing directly with customer service, coming over to our house in person to audit exactly what had arrived, and meticulously checking off what was missing to get it reordered right away.
Her proactive, caring, and hands-on approach completely took the stress out of a terrible situation. She is a credit to the company and I cannot recommend her highly enough. If you want a designer who genuinely cares and delivers flawless support when it matters most, ask for her!
You won’t be disappointed

I’d just like to thank Ben personally. He was outstanding throughout the whole process. Not only did he open our eyes into a whole new design he made the experience so relaxed. When we weren’t sure he gave us different options and helped us decide what was best for our kitchen. It was like he treated it like it was his own house. Thanks again to Ben for helping us create our dream kitchen. Thanks to wicks too!

I’m very fussy, and every measurement and every little detail had to be absolutely perfect. I booked in multiple times to make changes and double-check everything until it was exactly how I wanted it (which is how I am with everything!).

Jenny was so patient, professional, and understanding throughout the whole process. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and her attention to detail was amazing. I couldn’t be happier with the final design and would highly recommend her to anyone planning a new kitchen.

We highly recommend Ben for his design services, we were incredibly indecisive at the beginning & Ben provided different options & layouts that would work well with our kitchen size. Ben also took the time to listen to our wish list & brought our vision to life. He was very responsive with any queries and never rushed us into making any decisions. From going to wickes in Winsford Cheshire to order our kitchen with Ben who is bathroom designer. To having our bathroom fitted in 6 days completely taken out and having a fully new one replaced. We can honestly say we are happy the finished result. 10 out of 10 would recommend this company.

From the first appointment right through until completion of the kitchen fitting, he made himself available to answer any queries, was prompt and friendly throughout and helped us navigate the multitude of choices and challenges through the end to end design process. His advice was always balanced and considered, ultimately helping us get an incredible new kitchen planned in a very short time frame and importantly, within budget.

Winsford Wickes is my local DIY store and I always find the team really helpful and happy to help especially when looking for a certain item.

What a fantastic team we had from Wickes Winsford.
Jenny is a designer extraordinaire- her insight and experience was just amazing with the design of our walk in shower bathroom. The suggestions for fixtures and fittings were gratefully included within the final design. The delivery team were lovely and the communication ahead of the delivery was really great and helped to keep our project on time. Our fitter Dan helped to pull it altogether. He is such a skilled fitter and such a perfectionist in his fitting. We can’t recommend them strongly enough.

I have just had my bathroom completed by Wickes. My experience has been amazing from start to finish.
My designer was Jenny Jones. She has been amazing and made the whole process very simple. My installer was Dan from (EDS). Who went above and beyond.
I would highly recommend using both Jenny and Dan.

From the very first time I spoke to Jenny at wicks I felt she understood what I was looking for, she took on board my health issues and what I felt would help me in the new kitchen I wanted,
She explained everything clearly and showed me examples of it if I didn’t understand.
I soon picked a kitchen I liked and Jenny came and measured up at my home and advised me on what would be best and where, back at the show room we went over the plans Jenny had done checked everything else and then she explained the next step and what she would then arrange for the fitting of the kitchen Jenny was brilliant all the way and would always reassure me over any query with her professionalism and mannerisms I even decided to have a new floor put down at the same time which again she advised and helped me pick which one was best for me.
The fitter that worked on my kitchen was brilliant as well again explaining anything I wasn’t sure on and the job was soon done! So well done wicks of Winsford’s but especially to Jenny and the team of fitters, I will use them again and I will head straight to Jenny.

We were recommended by a friend in the building trade to look at Wickes for a new kitchen. We were not disappointed. Having looked at several places Wickes proved to have high quality units, their pricing and design was clear and we were able to work with a in store designer to create a lovely kitchen. Our house dimensions are awkward so getting it right wasn't striaghtforward. The savings made enabled us to afford to have the new kitchen professionally fitted and the guys did a great job. Very pleased with the advice and service provided.
