Wickes - Newbury Anmeldelser 

I went into the store at 7am this morning for some replacement taps that I had brought elsewhere but were not the right ones and needed them urgently. When I explained what I needed they directed me to the right place and talked me through a couple of options that would suit and reasonably priced. Very helpful☺️

Jessica was very helpful with our order, gave us great advice on a range of products that would suit our needs and made sure we were confident in our purchase.

Always use Newbury branch when I shop at Wickes. Love the click and collect option. Products get picked well not had a damaged one yet, not the case from some other stores. And the staff are always really helpful. Well done Wickes Newbury!

I came into store for an in-store appointment with the design team at the weekend to discuss plans for my new kitchen upgrade. The staff were very knowledgeable about the different options available to me, super friendly, and I was seen to and helped straight away. Would recommend!

went into newbury branch today and can not stress enough how fabulous sandra was to me. the customer service was impeccable

Excellent quality finish, very professional and hardworking team. Ciprian who did the bulk of the installation was great to deal with, worked hard and explained his progress at all stages (as were all others who did work, John the electrician and Max the plumber). Simon from Jack of all Trades was also very good to deal with from start to finish making us feel comfortable with the entire process and was very responsive to any queries. Vikram who did the design in store was also great to deal with, listened to what we wanted and put together a bathroom we are really pleased with.

The ‘product’ we bought was good - a new walk in shower. Good quality products, nicely designed, a sympathetic ear to our desires. All good.

Then they ‘introduce’ their installers. Nothing to do with Wickes, companies you’ve never heard of and, when you search them, complaint after complaint. Awful experiences with Wickes installations are the norm, there is no point providing a good product if you then use installers that no one would ever employ.

To give an idea: our installation was pushed back one week (told on the day we were expecting them.) Took much longer than the 7 days quoted, yet a few days into the installation I had a call from Wickes, checking I was pleased with my new bathroom. ??? It was mostly still in our garage. Yet the ‘installer’ company had sent in a completion certificate with my signature forged! WTF?

A quick mention about involving the Police for fraud and serious criminal behaviour seemed to work, they then completed the installation. A few issues but nothing serious but, to be honest, I would never use Wickes again. THEY are fine but they are utilising installation companies who are dubious, in my (and many others) opinion. If not dishonest - chatting with fellow customers on Facebook, it appears sending in the ‘completion’ certificate is widespread. As then they get paid and, frankly, will lose interest in completing the job.

Come on Wickes - you and your customers deserve better. Why on Earth don’t you have your own installers? Then you would be a great bathroom / kitchen supplier.

19/03/25: just seen the 'reply' from Wickes. Why do you need to contact 'Trustpilot'? Why not try dealing with the fact that you are STILL employing dubious companies as your installers, I have this week advised a customer of yours how to commence legal action against you as, once again, your installation team were abysmal! For anyone who wants to read 'real reviews', try looking on Facebook and the 'Wickes Bathroom and Kitchen Horrors' thread. Their behaviour is simply atrocious. I recommend - STRONGLY - you look elsewhere.
