Rick was a great tutor, knowledgeable, patient and down to earth. Good facilities and productive learning environment.

I have really enjoyed my time at universal skills my tutor Michael was very good at explaining everything and being there to support our class. Everyone who works at universal skills are friendly and are all willing to help I always felt someone was around to answer any questions and I felt as if everyone wanted to do to well overall great experience.

Great course ran by Michael Cottyn, theory and practical was super informative and enjoyful.

Massive help also from Mike Campbell, Adam and Matt during the apprenticeship so huge thanks to them also.

When I started the course I felt a touch overwhelmed, but thanks to the staff here at the centre after completing the course and pass my certifications, I feel ready to tackle my job.

The centre is well organised and very clean and friendly. My tutor was michael cottyn. He was always very professional and helped me get to where i need to be ready for my exams. Very polite and made me feel welcome from day one. He never once judged me. Top man! The other trainers adam and mike cambell were just as good! They was always checking in how we are getting on and was willing to help and answer anthing that was needed. Thank you !

The support from all the staff was perfect, all subject matters were fully explained and any details that were not understood the tutors walked through clear well thought out scenarios.

Very good training center where I have done my gas and electric metering apprenticeship. The staff here are great with the teaching making everything very accessible and easy to learn. I had Mike Campbell as a tutor and he went above and beyond to make sure we all understood everything and everyone's opinion could be heard. Tutors Adam and Matt G had us for assessments and were very fair.

Very slow start to the course was genuinely good thinking of not completing it but once MIKE CAMPBELL took over everything changed for me, he actually put the time in to get me where I needed to be so can’t thank him enough, also ADAM BROOK top bloke helped me out so much, can’t thank them both enough, everyone in the training has been spot on and have done what they said they would do at the start which was get me though the whole experience so big thank you to everyone

I am currently completing my Smart Metering apprenticeship with Universal Skills Group, and the experience has been top-tier. The facilities are modern and the course is very well-structured, but the real standout is the staff.

​A special shout-out to Mr. Campbell, who is honestly the superhero of the training centre. His teaching is absolutely wonderful and he has a way of making everything click. He’s like a fine whisky you just love, and honestly, he is the Spiderman I love to listen to! He goes above and beyond to make sure every apprentice is confident and ready for the field. If you’re looking to start a career in the utility sector, this is the place to do it!

USG has been a great place to learn over these past 6 months whilst doing my apprenticeship, Micheal Campbell,
our tutor, has not only made it a great learning experience with in depth knowledge and a great style of teaching but has also made it a happy and fun place to learn throughout. All staff have been great that I have been lucky to be involved with such as Adam Brook, Matt Giles and Katy Garside

Before training started it was like falling into an abyss with no clarity in thought. However the training centre had some fantastic staff. They guided us through the whole process with ease. This is definitely an experience where it can be said "if I was successful then anyone can do it".

Big thanks to the entire staff. One of the best crew I've ever met.

I recently completed training with Universal Skills Group with Mike Campbell who was incredible and honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough. From the start, the whole process was professional, well organised, and really supportive.

The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable and take the time to explain everything clearly, making sure you actually understand the work rather than just rushing through it. They create a really positive learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and getting hands-on experience.

What really stood out was how much they genuinely want you to succeed. The support, guidance, and practical training were excellent and have given me real confidence moving forward in my career.

If you’re considering training in this industry, Universal Skills Group is a fantastic place to do it. A great team, great training, and a really valuable experience overall.

Great CT course

USG has been a great centre for my training. The staff have been friendly and helpful in every situation. Two men in particular carry this motif; The prophet Michael Campbell, and his loyal disciple Adam Brook. These men make it their mission to spread wisdom and knowledge to any willing individual. In particular I appreciate Adam Brook for his help as a tutor, as well as being a half decent bloke.

Couldnt fault my whole experiencefrom start to finish its been amazing, i feel like iv gained all the skills necessary to go on and achieve my goals....all members of staff are highly skilled throughout all areas covered, a special mention to adam brook my tutor guided me through the whole course brilliantly and was always there for me when i needed him, i feel like he made the whole course enjoyable and id do it all again aslong as he was my tutor again 😀

Over the last 6 months, I’ve been training at Universal Skills Group, Wakefield to complete my ACS and MOCOPA. Every member of staff within the centre has been a massive help in supporting my journey. My tutor, Adam Brook, has been the ideal tutor - mixing classroom work nicely with practical work to create an enjoyable learning experience. I wouldn’t have been able to get through it without his support.
