Would not recommend True Rewards, better to find a deal on pyhsical or digital cards from retails that will honour for 3 year.
Provided gift cards via businesses for staff with 1 year expiry date, have designed it so you can easily exceed the expiry date. Deceptive in hiding the date so you can't easily check including not stating that in terms and conditions but referring you to the app to check (no link of course to get there) and won't honour or re-issue within the 31 days after expiry hiding behind exclusion in Australia for these types of cards when it's via employees, promotions, etc.

Had an issue with a egift card. It had to go to another level to fix and the online support officer was great.

I would give this company a 0 if I could. They sell gift cards, take the money, and when you encounter an issue and contact them for assistance, you receive no help whatsoever. I was simply told that they “cannot do anything.”

How is this possible? How is a company with such a high level of customer dissatisfaction still operating?

Most importantly, where does the money go if we cannot use the gift card? This is completely unacceptable and shows a total lack of accountability.

Utterly horrific. It’s been almost a month and I can’t access my money!!!

Absolute scam, bought at a service station, poor instructions rang for assistance no one answered phone, tried multiple times rang out when finally got onto someone sent them photos of receipts still nothing. don't waste your money

I would give this company a 0 if possible. They sell gift cards take the money and when you ring to ask for assistance if you do not have receipt which is unlikely when given it as a Christmas present from family member they cannot even track the bar code and see where sold and how much it has left on it.DO not buy these EVER. It is ridiculous that they have no accountability for the product they sell. Every other gift cards you can see what you gave on it and get customer assistance that is why it I a gift card the person gives you a card!!!!!!

A card issued by True Rewards was immediately drained of all of its credit. I followed all of the instructions, I have 2FA. They were not helpful in resolving this blaming security at my end. I suspect the security breach was at the end of True Rewards and they failed to hold any accountability.

Scammers. Do not recommend. I received a refund from a shop, but they decided to keep the money, and I wasn’t able to access it.

This company is an ABSOLUTE SCAM.
I was given a gift Visa with $1000 on it.
It had to be activated by a certain date, which I did.
I also went to use it before expiry.
It came up as EXPIRED, which it shouldn't have.
I called their support number.
They told me it wasn't activated. (They apparently checked their system) I 100% ACTIVATED IT ON TIME!

I asked - "Does it send an email when activated?" The answer was "No".

I asked - "Where does the money go?"
The answer was "It's forfeited"

I asked "Can you re-activate it?"
The answer was "No".

Amazing how it just disappeared in to thin air with no trace.

Call Centre is off shore as well.

All things point to this organization being AN ABSOLUTE SCAM. I recommend STAYING WELL AWAY TrueRewards.com.au and Activ8Card.com.au and any of their subsidiaries. (iGoDirect Group ABN 17 110 897 320)

I will be launching a case with the ACCC.

I was issued a new Visa gift card by iGoDirect Group (True Rewards & Rewards Come True) in 2023. It was issued with an activation end date 12 months post-issue. I phoned them (16/4/25) to request that the card be activated after this date, but within 3 years from issue. They refused to activate the gift card. They also refused to reissue a longer-dated card. I advised that this was a breach of gift card laws, both over the phone and via email. They have not offered a solution. As per their terms and conditions, the money paid for the gift card are forfeited if the card is not activated by the end date. They fail to mention in their terms and conditions that the activation end date is 12 months from issue. I think this is how they have avoided detection. They did confirm over the phone that their cards have an activation end date 12 months post-issue . I find this company has breached gift card laws, and has profiteered from this practice.

I had a very disappointing experience with Truerewards that I feel compelled to share. After purchasing a digital card, I noticed that the email did not contain any information about its expiry date. I later found out that according to Australian consumer laws, all gift cards should have a minimum expiry of three years.

To my shock, when I called customer service after just 13 months of issue, I was informed that my card had already expired and the money was lost. This is completely unacceptable, and it feels like a scam!

Truerewards does not seem to adhere to consumer protection laws, and their lack of transparency regarding expiry dates is misleading. I urge others to be cautious when dealing with this company.

Save your money and look for more reputable services that respect consumer rights!

This organisation has found loopholes in legislation that allow them to absorb peoples funds, in some cases within just a few months. It is hard to understand with the level of discontent how consumer protection groups have not stepped in to stop this scandalous behaviour.

Received a digital gift card but didn't find anything I want at the time, recently find something and want to redeem but not successful. contacted their CS was told it was expired and tried to blame everything on me by not checking the expiry date and refused my claim. But look, there was no expiry, terms and conditions listed on my email, please be fair, send out reminders or at bare minimum listed out all terms and conditions no matter you are the purchasers or the receivers, that is called fair. Anyway, I filed my case to Fair Trading hopefully someone will step in for stopping this types of scams.

My advice: give out money like red pocket money (never expired) or buy your friends a physical gifts with receipts provided.

This company is a scam. BE WARNED DO NOT USE THEM. I was given a gift card which I didn't use straight away. When I went to use it they had cancelled it and taken the money. I contacted them as it was $500 and was given quite the runaround only to be told in the end you will not be getting your money back. To me this is theft and they should be held accountable. I have reported them to the ACCC.

I have had a similar experience with True Rewards.
Very slow to respond to anything.

One of our employees were scammed via a VISA purchase with their card, True Rewards didn't want to know about it.

Edit/Update, its been months. Filling out forms, escalating my case with management. I finally heard back that their card vendor responded a month ago to True Rewards. Here I am still chasing it, I now have a name of 'Pat' in management who has been absolutely abysmal do deal with. Several of my emails over weeks have gone unanswered, only had one response from there, when I asked more questions it got to hard for Pat and they stopped responding.

I have been procuring prepaid Visa/Mastercard’s for years now for our various employee & client incentive reward programs.

From all of my experience in the market, I have found True Rewards to be the most unsatisfactory vendor in Australia. So much so, that I felt compelled to create this review to help set your expectations when dealing with this company.

Buggy apps with issues during live transactions, leaving customers embarrassed when paying for items and they do not work.
Long wait times, if you ever have an issue or need a resolution.. do not expect quick results with True Rewards. (And when we finally did get hold of a staff member, we were made promises of call backs or follow ups that never happen)

We have had many complaints from clients & unhappy employees with issues on the True Rewards app. No empathy, no help whatsoever from True Rewards at all when it comes to disputes/fraudulent transactions either.

Even being a VISA partner, which VISA have their own Zero Liability practice (Google Visa Zero Liability). True Rewards simply claim no responsibility, no effort to help and wipe their hands of any transaction disputes. (Not the kind of support that you want from a Credit Card company!! You have been warned, this is what to expect)

This has caused myself a great deal of frustration, and additional personal time in follow ups… managing cases that really should be handled by the vendor or some kind of Account Management team would be extremely helpful.

After an internal review, we have switched to TCN – The Card Network.
Their app works flawlessly, excellent customer service, dedicated Account Management to support our large purchases. And, most of all for us, they are RESPONSIVE when we lodge any enquiries.
They meet our Prepaid Reward expectations in every way.

Do your own research & save yourself headaches before signing up, there are far better options than True Rewards for Prepaid Credit Card rewards in Australia.
