I appreciate the opportunity to clarify. Tru-Diamonds™ are lab-created simulated diamonds, rather than lab-grown carbon diamonds. While they are crafted to closely replicate the look, brilliance, and durability of natural diamonds, they won’t register as diamonds on standard diamond testers.

We always aim to be transparent about this, as our goal is to offer the beauty and allure of fine diamond jewellery at a tiny fraction of the price.

That said, we never want any customer to feel anything less than delighted with their purchase. If the piece isn’t quite what you expected, you’re very welcome to return it under our 30-day guarantee for a full refund of your purchaser price.

Although openly hostile, we appreciate your review as it gives us an opportunity to cover some points that may be interesting to our legitimate customers.

When we introduced Tru-Diamonds™ jewellery back in 2005 our mission was to give jewellery lovers the look and allure of expensive diamond jewellery at prices that are easy to afford. We wanted them to be able to show off jewellery that everybody would immediately assume is expensive diamond jewellery.

To this end, we sourced the best lab-grown simulated diamonds available and created the brand Tru-Diamonds™. We started with a small “niche” following and this has grown over the years to where we now have a very large customer community spanning the globe.

We’ve also learned over time that our customers are not only people who can’t afford diamonds. Indeed, many wealthy people and celebrities wear our jewellery for reasons of security and sustainability. ChatGPT reports that producing a carat of lab-grown diamond uses 200 to 300 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy whilst producing Tru-Diamonds™ gems requires 60 – 70% less.

Lab-grown natural diamonds entered the jewellery market around 2010 and, although they are less expensive than mined gems, they are still far more costly than Tru-Diamonds™

Here’s a list of comparative prices, researched for us by ChatGPT:
Mined Diamonds: $2,000 to $25,000+ per carat
Lab-Grown Diamonds: $800 to $3,000 per carat
Moissanite: $300 to $600 per carat
Tru-Diamonds: $50 to $100 per carat
Cubic Zirconia (CZ): Under $50 per carat

The reality is that markets exist for all of these gems. Some people are willing to pay the price for a mined diamond, whereas others will opt for one of the lab-grown alternatives.

The number of people who are choosing Tru-Diamonds™ is growing exponentially so, it’s not in our interest if people confuse our gems with ordinary lab-grown diamonds as these stones do not offer the consumer any real value-benefit – certainly not in the way Tru-Diamonds™ do.

To avoid confusion, we state clearly that that Tru-Diamonds™ are simulated lab-grown diamonds on every single one of the 550 product pages on our website. Furthermore, on the “About Us” page and the FAQ’s we elaborate on what they are how they are grown.

We understand why some people may be prepared to pay an exorbitant premium for top-grade mined diamonds if they want something that is produced by nature and has an element of rarity. But why pay a premium for ordinary lab-grown diamond jewellery when you can show off Tru-Diamonds™ at a fraction of the price …and nobody will know.

Also, our jewellery pieces are set in high-quality hand-finished mountings that are finished in 18 ct. yellow Gold or .950 Platinum generously clad over a solid core of Sterling Silver. That’s how we’re able to give jewellery lovers the authentic look of fine diamond jewellery at such low prices.

Your inference that Tru-Diamonds™ gems may lose their lustre over time is completely erroneous. This is no more likely than it would be with mined or lab-grown diamonds, however, we are so confident in the quality of our gems that we provide a Lifetime Replacement Warranty which covers loss, damage or discolouration from any cause whatsoever. No mined or lab-grown diamond retailer we know of can match this comprehensive warranty.

Finally, your assertion that you purchase lab-grown diamonds from tjc for as little as £40 is simply not true. We have searched the tjc website and cannot find lab-grown diamond jewellery at prices anywhere near that figure. The prices of their lab-grown jewellery is more in line with the pricing indicated in the comparison list provided by ChatGPT. We did, however, notice that they also sell a variety of cheap cubic zirconia jewellery and perhaps that is what you confused with lab-grown diamonds.

I completely understand your frustration and disappointment after receiving an order confirmation indicating that your items would be dispatched within 2–3 days.
