LIFESAVING MEDICINE INFO NOT COMMUNICATED!!

AVOID this pharmacy!!
We trusted this place when our beloved Yorkie Chloe developed a cough.
I took her to the vet, and she was prescribed a cough medicine.
At the time, we were also using a LI veterinary pharmacy (for Chloe’s intestinal issue) that was far from our home, so in the interest of time, we agreed to go to Transcript pharmacy for the cough medicine.
THIS PROVED TO BE A FATAL MISTAKE.
At the first in-person meeting, I inquired as to what forms/flavors the cough medicine was offered in.
I WAS TOLD A LIQUID AND TABLETS.
I decided on a steak flavored liquid instead of tablets, as I explained we sometimes had difficulties with Chloe taking tablets.
After struggling with the liquid, I called the pharmacy to inquire about the tablets explaining our difficulties with the liquid. I ordered the unflavored tablets.
We were not having success at first with the tablets, but with perseverance, (as the tablets were the only other option, as far as we knew), we had success by putting the tablets in Chloe’s food or vitamins.
I believed we were over the difficulties.
Unfortunately, Chloe woke one morning with a terrible coughing fit, and we rushed her to the hospital, only to find out she had fractured 2 ribs.
I called the pharmacy AGAIN to see if they could flavor the tablets, hoping Chloe would take them without her food.
Unfortunately, she did not, so I called the pharmacy a 4th time, to DOUBLE CHECK if this medicine came in ANY OTHER FORMS besides the tablets and liquid, as I did not like adding medicine to her food.
Apparently, there WERE other options that I was not presented with previously!
I purchased the trans-dermal cream.
WITHIN 3 DAYS OF STARTING THE CREAM, THE COUGH COMPLETELY STOPPED!!
Unfortunately, less than a week later, Chloe passed away.
The bottom line is:
THIS PHARMACY NEVER GAVE US ALL THE OPTIONS –
LIFESAVING OPTIONS!
Our Beloved Chloe suffered NEEDLESSLY!
Always ask about different forms the medication is offered in, and DOUBLE CHECK!
Your pet’s life might depend on it!
IT IS OUR HOPE, THAT BY SHARING CHLOE'S STORY, NOBODY ELSE WILL SUFFER THE TRAGEDY WE HAVE!!
