Borax decahydrate, also known as sodium borate or disodium tetraborate, is a scent-free, water-soluble powder. When combined with warm or hot water, it enhances the effectiveness of household cleaners and detergents, with higher temperatures yielding optimal results. Due to its inert properties, borax can be mixed with various cleaning agents, including chlorine bleach. This combination creates a potent solution for removing stains and disinfecting laundry at home. With a pH of 9.5, it ensures a uniform distribution of cleaning molecules across surfaces, facilitating thorough cleaning. This product can also be used as a herbicide and insecticide, as plants and insects find even a small dose toxic.
