Paid for next day delivery wasted days waiting
Paid for next day delivery , it didnt go out for next day but was told it would be day after then day after with no tracking details made to feel like i was wrong when I said tracking number didnt work , well it didnt work cos it was sent elsewhere in the country ended up being 5 days after my order all felt a bit unprofessional not sure id want to buy a more expensive item like a controller

You’re absolutely right to expect a reliable next-day service. In this case, the order was shipped directly from our manufacturer and unfortunately went out a day later than planned. We then discovered it had been sent to an incorrect address, which is why the tracking details didn’t work as expected initially, we completely understand how frustrating that must have been.
As soon as we identified the issue, we acted quickly to resolve it by sending out a replacement to the correct address. We also refunded your delivery charge in full, and arranged a strong discount for you on the controller you were considering as a gesture of goodwill.
We did our best to keep you updated throughout, but we appreciate that the overall experience didn’t meet expectations, and for that we sincerely apologise. This isn’t the standard we aim to deliver, especially for customers considering higher-value purchases.

Disappointed
I bought a Pioneer package (2 × PLX1000 turntables and a DJM250 mixer, plus 2 × Ortofon styli) for £1,933 from The DJ Shop in early April 2026. The items arrived promptly, but I experienced a loud hum when playing vinyl. After contacting them, Jacob suggested troubleshooting steps—testing the mixer connected to the amp with no turntable attached, and trying the mixer on a completely different system—to confirm whether the mixer was the source of the issue.
If the hum persisted he recommended returning it for inspection as a potential internal fault. Since the hum remained after both tests, I returned the mixer at a cost of £8.85. They then said as they could not reproduce the issue, there was no fault and also would not refund my return postage. They offered either to send the mixer back or to refund it with a 10% reduction due to a torn inner polythene bag.
There was no reference to the issues that I had when testing. Nothing had changed, so I had no alternative but to go for the second option.
They agreed to waive the 10% deduction if I supplied a replacement inner sleeve. I sent one from the turntable packaging (£5.55 postage), after which they refunded £341 for the mixer—£18 less than its current listed price—stating this was because the original bundle pricing meant the refund was calculated as the difference after re-costing the remaining items.
I have since bought an Allen & Heath Xone 24C from another reseller with a fairer returns policy, and it has no issues.
For me, that is conclusive: I got the same hum on a different setup with the DJM250, and no hum at all with the replacement mixer—so the DJM250 was faulty.
Quibbling over return costs, a torn inner sleeve, and pricing deductions has also left me over £30 out of pocket and made the decision easy: I won’t be making another purchase from The DJ Shop.

We’re sorry to hear that you remain dissatisfied, however we do feel it’s important to clarify the situation to ensure an accurate reflection of events.
From the outset, we spent a considerable amount of time assisting you with troubleshooting, both over the phone and via email. This included detailed step-by-step diagnostics to isolate the issue, followed by further support once the unit was returned. These steps are specifically designed to determine whether a fault is present before any return is processed.
When your Pioneer DJM-250MK2 was returned to us, it was thoroughly tested in-store alongside our display unit under identical conditions. We were unable to reproduce the issue described, and both mixers performed within normal operating parameters. As demonstrated during testing, a very low level of noise can be present when gain is pushed to extreme levels on analogue equipment, which is expected behaviour and not indicative of a fault.
The unit was returned to us in a condition that was not saleable as brand new. Under normal circumstances, this would require the item to be sold as B-stock at a reduced price, and a deduction would be applied accordingly.
However, as a gesture of goodwill, particularly given that you retained the remainder of the bundle (turntables and cartridges) we made the decision to proceed with a full refund of the exact amount you paid for the mixer. The unit will now be sold by us as B-stock at a loss.
To be absolutely clear, the refund issued reflects 100% of the price paid for the mixer within your original purchase. It would not be appropriate or standard practice to refund a higher standalone retail value than what was originally paid as part of a discounted bundle.
Regarding return postage: our policy, in line with standard retail practice, is that shipping costs are not reimbursed where no fault is found. As our testing confirmed the unit to be functioning correctly, we were unable to cover this cost.
We note your comments regarding your replacement mixer, the Allen & Heath Xone:24C, and we’re pleased to hear you are satisfied with your current setup. However, based on our testing and direct comparison with identical units, we remain confident that the mixer supplied was operating as intended.
While we regret that you feel this experience was unsatisfactory, we are confident that we acted fairly, provided extensive support throughout, and ultimately issued a full refund as a gesture of goodwill despite the condition of the returned item.
