WARNING! When they negotiate a payment plan and start taking your money to give to the creditor -(for which they charge $60 a month) you DONT REALLY have a plan yet until it's put in writing from each creditor, which could take several months. In the meantime, you must still open every bill and then continue to make TWO payments (what TCA takes from your checking account plus the remaining balance of the original payment) until there is an official written acceptance. With 3 of my 4 creditors, they apparently accepted right away (I never saw any acceptance letters), but with one of them, it took 2 months, and I was unaware of that until my credit got dinged. It seems to me that TCA shouldn't be taking from my account and charging me $60.00 monthly until l the agreements are signed. I was prepared for the first month to have to be supplemented, but not the others. USAA had my payment plan activated TWO months after I started paying through TCA. When I called the office about the issue - and how I was reported 30 past due, they were very flippant. I was trying to preserve my credit - was not past due on any of these cards until I did this plan. I'm now in a great space and trying to but a house, but that 30 day PD ding on my credit is making that impossible now.

Would I use them again - no, I don't see how the were worth $60.00 month to send checks to 4 creditors. Ultimately, I trusted the payment plans were in effect and didn't open every bill - I thought I had taken steps to have them handled ...I was wrong -- you still MUST open every bill and do not assume your plan is ever in place. You will still pay TCA even if the plans are not in place -- so ....ya

The program is set upto teach about credit and how to use it properly. The help to get interest rates down are wonderful. The fact that they help you set up a budget is great. The counselors are kind and supportive. All in all a good experience!

Thanks to the help from TCA, I was able to get out of debt. It took a few years but in that time frame I developed good habits in regards to managing debt. It made me feel empowered that I was able to pay off every penny of this debt. It gave me a whole new outlook on debt and knowing the proper way to handle it.

Charged the wrong bank account that I did not authorize a withdrawal from. Then it took me calling for a few days for them to actually update my account once it was paid off. Just not an easy company to work with and one where they clearly don’t do their jobs unless someone complains.
