My interactions with the good people at Summer in Italy have been 100% positive. I find them to be immediately responsive and exceedingly helpful, no matter what the topic. When dealing with renting a property from halfway around the world, you can't ask for anything better.

We booked a villa in Positano on Summer In Italy. It was seamless and quick. All the information we needed to make a decision was there. We contacted the site with a few questions and received a response within hours. Fantastic Service

I had plans to stay at an amazing 20-person Villa on the Amalfi Coast, booked in December ’19 through Summer in Italy, for my Fiancée’s immediate family, and mine, who would have been attending our Wedding in Ravello in late Summer. The help and assistance I received in advance of the booking from Luca and his Team, was instantaneous and exceptional, and nothing was ever too much of a problem for anyone.
Over the early months of this year, however, it became clear that our stay at the Villa was going to be an impossibility this year. Like so many people whose travel plans have been disrupted due to Covid-19, disappointment prevailed. I certainly was not expecting any pleasant surprises as I worked through the process of cancellation with Summer in Italy. In an extraordinary act of kindness, seldom seen in this day and age, while I was fully expecting to lose (justifiably) my initial deposit, Luca who runs and manages Summer in Italy, unprompted and unsolicited, suggested that he would turn a blind eye to the terms and conditions which I signed up to, and rather than lose the initial deposit, said he would provide me a voucher, to the value of the deposit amount, which would be valid for 3 years.
I was, and still am, shocked and aghast at this unexpected level of consideration and kindness.
In an age where, in my opinion, this world is overrun with selfishness and greed, particularly corporate greed, it is enlightening to find a small gem of a company, whose ethics and ethos are more aligned to the well-being and interests of their clients, than themselves. This ethos emanates from the top at Summer in Italy, but you can experience it at every level in the company. All you need do is phone them and you will see this for yourself – unparallel Italian charm, hospitality, and genuine care.
In this instance, however, this remarkable gesture goes above and beyond. To explain, contractually Summer in Italy would be totally within their rights to retain my deposit, and not return a single cent. Not only has Luca decided not to do this, he also has, somehow, managed to convince the owner of the Villa concerned to be equally generous, and overlook contractual terms. And it seems he has managed to agree this with all of the owners of all of the Villas, which are promoted on the Summer in Italy Website. This would have been no small feat to get all to agree, but somehow, this have been achieved. Which is why I cannot understand any of the ‘single-star’, negative feedback comments, which I have read below. People making such complaints have no argument. They signed an agreement. Even if they had taken out travel insurance, the insurance companies would not have covered the costs of their initial deposits, because of Covid. So why expect a small company to fulfil the responsibility these very same ‘complainants’ assumed, when they signed the agreement, when even insurance companies won’t...? I am simply baffled by these comments...!
The offer of the voucher by Summer in Italy is, consequently, a monumental gesture of support, nothing short of virtuous, and something only to be lauded, in my opinion. Especially on a platform like Trust Pilot, where I see that some people try to take unjustified advantage.
I have never used Summer in Italy before, or contacted them prior to my initial request in December ’19, regarding my summer booking, but anytime I return to Italy from now on, I will absolutely use them without hesitation. If everyone in this world acted and behaved as honourably as Luca and his entire Team have in the circumstances, the world would be a far, far better place.
Even though I have not been to Italy this year due to Covid, the experience I have had overall with Summer in Italy has been amazing, culminating in what I can only describe as an amazing act of unadulterated altruism, and I am delighted to know that such “good” people exist in this day and age. If your intention is to plan a rental holiday in Italy, I can say - hand on heart - that there is only one choice in my opinion, and that is, Luca and Summer in Italy, all of whom are entirely honourable and dependable people.

We were so sad to have to move our trip to the Amalfi Coast to next summer 2021 because of COVID. However, the staff at Summer in Italy and in particular, Luca, were outstanding in all aspects of customer service. Luca answered all of our questions and was extremely helpful with travel plans...and then was super responsive and flexible when we ended up having to move the trip to next summer. The pandemic has been so hard for the hospitality industry and we appreciate Summer in Italy's flexibility! Wonderful staff:)

Excellent experience with Summer In Italy from planning to cancelling due to Covid-19.  While planning, I emailed and called Summer in Italy several times while deciding on the perfect apartment to rent for my family of 5.  The staff was patient and very helpful with details about the apartment, polices and the neighborhood.  The website is very user-friendly and gives you a lot of travel information about Italy in general and your destination city.  

While waiting for our April trip to happen, the world was struck by Covid-19 and my travel plans had to be postponed.  Promptly and without question, I was emailed a voucher for a future stay within 3 years.  I was in disbelief that a small company would go above and beyond their own refund policy since clients are advised to purchased travel insurance and the no-refund policy is plainly stated before and at the time of booking.  The way in which my cancelled reservation was handled, prompts me to highly recommend this company to anyone considering Italy travel.  The owner, Lucca, personally wrote to me, further adding to how impressed I am with Summer In Italy's compassion during their own crisis. My family and I will definitely visit Italy as soon as we are able, and I will look no further than Summer In Italy for a perfect Italian appartamento!

I currently have a villa reserved for June, and Luca is going above and beyond to help us with the reservation. Of course no one knows the outcome of this horrible virus, but Summer in Italy is doing all I can expect them to at this time to work with me and my family. This is the time for everyone on the globe to join together, and find the best solutions for everyone. Everyone that I have talked with, and discussed our reservations, and solutions for what is best for all of us has been very accommodating, open to changes, and truly seems concerned with helping us. I don’t think I would have gotten this friendly and concerned response from many other travel services. Thank you Luca, and everyone at Summer in Italy. I hope we see you soon! Ciao! 🧡

BEWARE! Do not use!! I have been travelling to the Amalfi Coast for 10 years and have NEVER experienced anything like this than what I did with Summer In Italy. I had accommodation booked through this company for Aug 6-26 in Positano. Given the state of affairs and not being able to leave my country Australia (We have been advised by our government that we are to cancel all our plans) due to COVID this organisation refuse to provide me a refund of the $1400 deposit i left, wanting to issue me with a voucher. I have spoken to ever single one of my friends in Positano and Praiano who are also in the travel industry who have confirmed that this is COMPLETELY ILLEGAL! Luca has refused to call me even though I have asked him 3 times, he called my friend instead when I has ASKED HIM TO CONTACT MYSELF. They refuse to provide me a refund of money that I have paid and ......told me the voucher is "A Gift" from them. A gift ahahhaha what for taking my money, thats so generous!! Grazie!! I have spoken with a lawyer, please beware this is completely unethical given the circumstances and with MORE THAN ENOUGH notice anyway given my date. I have had the most difficult time canceling my reservation in Positano with Summers in Italy. Every other company, tour, hotel, airlines, train, etc. has fully refunded monies due to the pandemic which inhibits travel between our countries and is a global, certified pandemic. This makes our contract null and void. DO NOT book with this company. They offered a ridiculous credit for future use which we cannot use.

I asked to cancel my vacation because of the pandemic of Coronavirus and I was told I could cancel but they would not refund my deposit and there was nothing more they would do. I explained how I wouldn't be comfortable going to Italy anymore and yet Luca the owner advised me there was nothing he would do. In a time like this, Customer service means everything and no o e should be denied a refund because they are uncomfortable with traveling. Horrible company.

Its always difficult to find somewhere to accommodate a large party with questions to ask. This company do a very efficient and helpful live chat. Luca was the agent who was there and helped through the whole process. He found the place knowing my budget. Fantastic service. 5 star. We cannot wait to go.
