Summer Discovery Anmeldelser

My son had the best time at his Summer Discovery Camp! He attended a 2 week camp at Dartmouth for neuroscience, as a rising Senior. He had the opportunity to dissect brains, and came home with so much knowledge, which he shared. As a parent, I had contacts to call with questions, and the platform and certificate were easy to obtain. I was very happy with communication. I highly recommend this organization for college summer camps.

My son had a wonderful time in Dartmouth this summer!! The University is gorgeous, the summer discovery team is awesome, and the course compelling! He immediately made friends thanks to the aproachable and very smart engaging rules. It’s certainly an incredible oportunity to have a awesome summer envisioning a great future

Communication, recruitment, education & safety are a few of the top wins.

My daughter loved her time at Summer Discovery. She made life long friends and had such an amazing time.

The professors were awesome, and the staff was nice. There were lots of activity options for students to do.

The Dartmouth Summer Discovery Program provided a great sociable and educational environment. The counselors and setup allowed for a lot of freedom and getting to meet a lot of great people. The class I took was informative. and the teachers were very engaging. That said, its content did not really match the syllabus.

My friends, house parents, my professors; Mr. and Mrs Lord made classes amazing and lastly the food and sports. It has such a quiet neighborhood with beautiful people and lovely plants. It also has some nice historic backgrounds with Mr. and Mrs. Lord giving my mates and I tours around what made its history come about. Most importantly guest speakers were amazing such as Mr. Jeremy Dasilva giving us insights on the prehistoric times and what he does in the school, even a tour of his lab. This Summer Discovery was truly impactful and it has changed me in a better way and I would recommend it to anybody looking for something fun to do in their summer. Thank you Dartmouth College for the experience.

My son had a great time and the learning experience was stellar.

My son had a great time and it was a really good overall experience.

It was disappointing

I really enjoyed my time at summer discovery at UC Berkeley in July so much. It was amazing meeting new people from across the world and the resident counselors were incredibly kind and made the entire two weeks super fun. I feel like I have learned a lot about medicine there especially the different systems of the body. The professors were super kind and amazing at teaching. (Riya & Esther were the best!!) I feel like besides learning so much in the program I chose, I feel like I also learned how to be a bit more independent. Overall. I think I grew as a person entirely during my stay and would recommend this program to everyone!

Very very average educational experience. Not challenging. Food was really very bad too unfortunately

I had a lot of fun at the Dartmouth campus, and it was super fun going canoeing and exploring Hanover. The classes were great too.

Staff was way too strict, horrible experience. I had a way better experience at another summer camp the year prior so there is no excuse for the staff being as strict at all. (Could not leave our building at 9 pm)

The great teachers made the learning experience wonderful and as for the college experience aspect my RC did a great job supporting me along the way. Dan, the head of my program, did a great job organizing afternoon activities to make sure no one was left out and create cohesiveness. Overall I was very pleased with my experience and look forward to completing another Summer Discovery activity in the future.

My daughter did the Medical Academy at Berkeley. Ms. Mary Anne, the director, was the absolute best. From the moment we dropped our kiddos off she was there to answer any questions and quell any fears that any of us parents had. My daughter had the time of her life. There was the perfect mixture of academics and fun for them. I love that they gave the kids some independence, but with guidance and strict rules. My daughter has really blossomed as a result of this program. I would recommend Summer Discovery to anyone. It is a great program.

My son attended the 3 week summer business program at UCLA. He met a bunch of friends and had a great experience. He’s a senior in high school now and looking forward to being in the dorms next year.
He loved the total experience from day trips to hanging on campus to hearing to guest speakers.
Having him fly to California by himself, meet the group and fellow students, meet his roommate and find his way around campus was an invaluable lesson.

This was our second experience with Summer Discovery, and communication was a recurring weak point. The prerequisites for the class my daughter took weren't listed in the course description and she didn't find out about them until two weeks before the program started. As a result, most of the tangible outcomes that were listed on the website were not achievable.

Communication about day-to-day activities was also lacking. During the two-week session, we received virtually no updates. This echoed our previous experience the summer our son attended, when we got a few brief updates in the first days but nothing after that.

Overall, we were very disappointed with the quality of the program, especially given the high price point. We expected a level of organization and communication that matched the cost, and this experience fell short on both.

We were told that our student would receive a written evaluation from the professor as well as a certificate of completion. We have not received those.

The staff were great and knowledgeable. I leanred a lot of basic finanice and business from them. It made me want to go into finance even more. I also learned a lot about application process and the requirments, which will help me a lot in application period. The overall experience of the campus and classes were memorable.
