STV Player Anmeldelser 

STV Player has some great programmes, but its spoilt by the the fact it ALWAYS hangs constantly and you you have re-start the programme. It then restarts from the beginnining and've received then hangs again when you try to get to the original position. I've reduced my viewing significantly over the last few months as its REALLY annoying. This has been happenng for YEARS and they can't fix it. Nne of the other channels have this issue.

Pausing it for a few seconds at the start does occasionally help

The absolute WORST streaming platform there is! Ridiculous number of ads, far too frequent and if you pause for too long then God help you, it’ll crash and you’ll have to watch ALL THE ADS again. Doesn’t even remember where you left off or anything. ABOMINABLE.
Sort yourselves out, STV!!!

I joined STV PLAYER because of BROOKSIDE, other content interests me too, but it is mainly for Brookie. Anyway, after watching the first few available episodes, (five episodes are added weekly) I realised that the annoying adverts were/are almost as long as the episode itself. So I joined paying £3.99 a month, which is worth every penny for it brings with it; AD FREE. Anyway, I am very happy with STV+ and would had given 5 ***** but for the fact that since its app update, one has to scroll down and down for the next episodes as the page resets once an episode ends. Also, there is no option to AUTO PLAY the next episode, which would be great to have. I don't understand the reviews concerning buffering, loading content times and crashes; I have never had any issues regarding anything of the kind.
PS: Please note; I mainly watch through STV app on phone and cast to TV.

Having just watched Bates v Postoffice I find that your showing is pretty Cr*p.Freezing Screen double adverts during break

Never will I use STV player or EVER buy another McDonalds in my life after binging on The Family on STV player. The set adverts would be fine but the stream CONSTANTLY crashes which means you have to start the show again, if you're at the last 10 minutes of the show you cant just grudgingly watch a set of adverts and then resume roughly where you left off. Nope, you have to skip to "just by" each set of adverts and then watch all the adverts again in sequence till the last set, then PRAY it doesn't crash again which it regularly does. It often loves to crash just after you've watch a set of adverts

It's not my gigabyte internet service. I had this problem on 3 devices, worst on my pico 3 as I lay in bed dying and hungover trying to watch the last two episodes which took me almost 2 hours each.

I drove by a McDonalds today and gagged after being subjected to so many McDonalds adverts, (I assume it's a similar gig to youtube where they rake in pennies per watch).Funnily, early on in the series at I was put in the mood for a maccies, opened just eat and everything, but that soon developed into a hatred for the chain and will ONLY buy from BK now. One of my all time favourite tunes, Benny Benassi-Satisfaction has been ruined

To top the whole disgusting experience off, The Family only has one series and leaves a massive cliffhanger, not STV players fault of course but f them anyway.

I work from home while watching STVplayer and manage a full 8-hour shift only working during all the programme freezes and adverts.

A solution for the more frustrated amongst you is to relocate to Dumfries and Galloway where they have the pleasure of accessing the full ITV player.

I don't know anyone who has a good thing to say about the STV player.

My appeal to the governing body is to heed all these poor reviews, note the indifference of STV to politely comment, and take the right steps to sort this.

I got to very near the end of a crime drama and the picture froze. This diabolical app started the episode again at the very beginning and forced me to watch every ad break (again!) before I could get back to where I left off. It's a breathtakingly poor app. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

Crashes and keeps asking me to log in ..... Dreadful

Awful app. Always stops mid programme then u can’t get back to the same place. Far too many adverts. Waste of time.

Spent 3 hrs watching Red Rock and had to suffer 15 + McDonald adverts - this drove me up the wall. Surely 1 or 2 would suffice?

Don't ever pause for any reason, it's impossible to get back to where you paused! It seems to always want to take you back to the beginning? Then you have to sit through the endless ads! So frustrating!

I have just moved to Scotland from England. I thought ITVX was bad but its fantastic compared wit STV Player.
Freezes every time and many restarts needed so then endless mind numbing ads and the picture quality. Ive seen 3 yr old paintings with better resolution.
If you were involved in developing this app, retire now, PLEASE and go and work for some Russian missile factory. Your incompetence will save the world

Impossible to watch a full show on this platform. Every time you open the app it asks for a 4 digit passcode. Then the app will usually freeze at some point in the episode, which prompts you to restart the show. This would be fine but instead of being able to simply fast forward through to the point that it stops you are forced to watch 5 or 6 sets of mandatory advert blocks. The design team that let this app through should be sat down with their eyelids taped back and made to sit through a few hours of this slow torture.

Ridiculous number of ads breaks which completely interrupts viewing

This is the worst player ever. Have they even tried to make it work? Are they not embarrassed or have they no shame?

Saturday night viewing awful. If its not BGT or X factor it's some other rubbishy live TV.. Why not put a good film on not one that is repeated all the time and not on too late. I mean celebrity catchphrase prime time?? Bring back Buck Rodgers, Dukes of hazard anything better than what it is. Rant over

Constantly cuts out meaning you have to rewatch a ton of adverts if you want to see the last 2 minutes of the programme you've been watching

Would give zero stars if I could. Terrible App that constantly buffers and jumps back to earlier parts of the programme after watching adverts. Been like this for years and for some reason STV just seem to accept this. Come on STV, this needs investment and a serious upgrade.
