On purchasing the new 2020 BMW 1 Series, we made it very clear from the outset we needed Run-Flat Tyres and were promised this by the salesman at the point of sale. When test driving the car and looking through the boot we even asked, ‘where is the spare wheel?’ To which the reply was you don’t need one with run-flat tyres... Not being car geeks we did not understand the concept of run-flat technology until later on.

This, as I say, was incredibly important to us as we tend to do considerable miles on the motorway and the need for not replacing a tire at the road side was outlined as absolutely critical.

We were assured these were ‘standard’ on all BMW models and because we were upgrading to the M-Sport model they were certainly a ‘given’ in any event. We now know our car was not fitted with run flats having received a puncture on the M1 and not being able to complete our journey safely to the nearest garage.

We found this to be odd so questioned a separate BMW dealer in Nottingham who again, assured us that all BMW’s including the 2020 1 Series M-Sport model were fitted as standard.

The irony of this is we in any event drove to the nearest tyre centre (which in hindsight should never have done) where the technician outlined the tyres we had on our car were not run-flats and by driving on a conventional flat tyre could in any case damage the wheels rim. The technical also made it clear he found it odd as from his experience of fitting tyres, all BMWS had run-flats as standard. If we had already known this we would never have driven on the flat and called breakdown assistance.

We contacted BMW Stratstone Derby to be informed by a different sales person that they were not standard and should never have driven on a flat tire at all which slightly contradicts the concept of run-flat tyres, which we thought and were promised we had on our car.

To say we are disappointed with BMW and stratstone Derby in particular is an understatement and would opt never to do business with them again. This is further added at being left to fork out a considerable amount of money on a tyre we could’ve sourced from a different retailer had we been provided with a run-flat we were promised in the very first instance. The entire experience we’ve had right from the minute go has been well below par I am sorry to say.

Stratstone hull avoid very poor customer service 😡. Took my bmw in for its first service left the car for the day after phone call to say it was ready on return found a big scuff/scrape on the drivers side rear bumper, which 100% was not there before, I was really shocked when pointed it out to the member off staff she went and spoke to the service team and valeting team, which all denied knowing anything about and states it was there before hand.asking to speak to a manager he looked and came back with the conclusion this is too high up to be done by another car and refused to take responsibility. I asked to look at cctv, he refused and stated he cannot do that. I was really fuming with the the attitude lack off customer care, when I stated not even a apology I was then told from the female sales assistant “ why would we apologise for something that wasn’t our fault “. Rude poor customer service would never buy from them again, passed me the payment card reader to pay my bill and shrugged us off !!!

Bunch of cowboys. Poor sales, bad experience when I took ownership of my new vehicle and now I cant book my car in for its 2 year service because the Service Dept dont answer the phone, my e-mails are ignored and I'm not able to book the service on-line.

I've bought a 5 star vehicle from a 1 star dealership

Terrible buying experience. Car had faults that were missed or ignored in the pdi. They then lied to me saying that a Bmw approved vehicle could not be returned within a 2 week window (Bmw UK said otherwise). I subsequently found that the entire left hand side of the vehicle had been resprayed and that one of the alloys was a copy. Never again...

Shocking levels of Customer Service
Horrendous experience in purchasing a vehicle for my father. Having put a £500 deposit last Wednesday, Jack said we come on Monday to collect the vehicle, he made it clear the price was the price & no negotiation was possible. As the spec was quite specific we drove 3 hours to get to Hull.

Met by a no real enthusiasm we made way to the vehicle, upon first impression the vehicle seemed prepped to standards. I was only disappointed with the amount of fuel in the tank, Jack claimed he could only fill in £10, considering the value of the vehicle & knowing the distance which we had travelled from set the wheels in motion of the whole experience.

As the paperwork was being processed I decided to take a closer inspection of the vehicle.
Upon this a scratch on the front bumper, a dent on the back panel & cob webs under the deployable spoiler was found.
Immediately I pointed out the defects to Jack who acknowledged that these bits had been missed in the prep. He assured me he will sort the issues out.
In the meantime the payment process was underway & soon enough paperwork had been completed.
The cobwebs had been cleaned & someone was working on the scratch, despite this the scratch was still visible & the dent hadn’t been touched.

Jack called out his manager, I went through the two remaining issues with him & explained Jack had acknowledged that these had been missed in the prep, at first the manager commanded my checking of the vehicle, thereafter He went on to say ‘as the vehicle Is 2 1/2 years old you have to expect certain defects’ He proceeded by offering me a mere £100 off a alloy wheel cover package priced at a additional £499.00, leaving me questioning are they being difficult & awkward only with me?

By this time my father was tired & the only other alternative was to travel to Brighton for a similar spec vehicle. As the deal was done we decided to take the vehicle with the dent & the scratch.
Upon leaving Jack said he will refund £50 to cover the cost of repair. I doubt this will cover a inspection never mind a repair.

I cannot come to terms with the service received upon spending a very large sum at this dealership.
What did we do to receive such unbothered attitude & no care?
I can only think of two things...
1. Finance is king
2. Skin Colour

My son took his BMW 1 Series for a diagnostic check following a drive chain error. He explaining he wanted to know what the underlying issue was and also explained there was a bit of lag whilst driving. He agreed to spend £160 on the diagnostic check. All the technician did was clear the errors and say bring it back if it does it again. The technician said he drove the car and it did have a bit of lag but this was not mentioned on the report. I feel that my son has been exploited, money taken and no real outcome delivered. I have had a number of BMWs and have always had them serviced at Stratstone. I will not be doing so in future and will go to Sytner.

On the 20th of May I put a deposit on a "approved used" BMW 520d F10 that just came in, received a video and I highlighted some defects from a low quality video, requested some pictures that I never received, waited a month cause the car was in preparation and cause of Covid-19 was taking so long. On the 27th of June I went to Derby from London only to spend £100 for the train and to see the most unapproved car I've seen in my life. Perhaps approved means washed or perhaps this is the approved service you get when you say you're going to pay cash, so why invest in a car that's already sold. I bought like 5 approved used cars till now, audi and bmw, all of them had refurbished wheels, no dents, scratches, basically like new. On this one in Strastone Derby, the wheels were not refurbished, rear o/s door trim was coming loose that I highlighted before I came to see the car, the rear bumper was pushed in so it was touching the trunk lid when closed and had marks of white paint on the rubber trim that pointed out poor spray job and that was just on a quick look. This was not an approved used car by my standards, I wish I trusted the reviews that I read before. Now I don't want to buy a BMW from Strastone franchise ever cause they've got such low standards... too bad I can't post pictures. Or perhaps I should go back to Audi cause the A6 2.0 TDI now's got quattro and no issues with a chain.

An excellent team with a very customer-facing attitude. I bought my 5 Series from the Stratstone Harrogate branch and they were an absolute pleasure to do business with. Joe was particularly helpful throughout and always gave me the facts honestly and candidly without pushing me into quick decisions as is so common with dealerships I've found; a supporting factor in my deciding to buy from them in the end. They were by far the politest dealership I encountered whilst looking for a car and I could not be happier with the end result. Many thanks to Joe once again.

i bought a car from the harrogate branch i have never experiecienced so much arrogence and rudeness in my entire life HONESTLY KEEP AWAY FROM THEM.

The only reason i bought the car from them was it was the exact spec i wanted and a year old i contacted BMW uk too be honest they were even less help.

they treaded me like a idiot after i travelled 100s of miles Honestly KEEP AWAY.

Even with covid-19 and the rules in place they are by far the best customer service I've ever had and so kind, I highly recommend this dealer and service department, I will never buy a car from anywhere else

Fantastic service from all at BMW.
Collected my car as agreed and on time. I then receive a call from an excellent member of staff called James in the servicing dept explaining some work did not need doing.

Left a deposit on a car after see it advertised with low mileage then was given the correct mileage which was far more than I expected I have asked for deposit back and still haven’t received it over a week later very poor customer service quick to take your money but not to refund it

Multiple bad visits to this place. Most recently car received a recall, booked it in with a loan car for the day, to then get there on the day to be told no loan car. Poor service.

service can be good often not. However the bit i struggle with most is how hard it is to actually buy a car from them.

4 years ago i wanted a 3 series.. spent ages phoning and mailing to try and get things sorted to no avail. I gave up in the end.. 3 months later they got back in contact and asked if they could help!! I had bought elsewhere by then...

now I am trying again to buy a car and getting the same issue! how odd!

Stratstone Bmw chesterfield avoid as once they have sold you your car they want nothing to do with it, if there is any problems with it. I have lacquer peeling off my front bumper and they say it’s not their problem. Have complained to head office and waiting for a response.

On 24.10.19 I paid BMW Stratstone of Gelderd Road Leeds £150 to have a replacement key made for my BMW. It is 8th day today and they have just told me that the order has now been placed and I should receive the key on or about 6th November. They said they will call me when the key is ready. They never do, it has been very difficult to contact the parts department so far. I would not like to do business with them again, ever.

Excellent service, just purchased an approved used Bmw m3. All went very smooth. Was ready to the date arranged. Very good customer service. Would recommend. And a thank you to Lauren Bailey who also thrown a few extras into the deal.

It is a shame that I have taken to trustpilot to write this review, but as they fail to deal with emails or tweets and dont return calls I was left with no choice.

My car went in for a service, and it also had a fault, which was reported, they couldn't deal with the fault and it was rebooked in two weeks later.

Two weeks later they failed to turn up for the car, the reasons were a bit like a multiple choice option, a) They didn't know my address (even though they picked up the care two weeks previously), b) they contacted me to let me know and I didn't respond (they didn't contact me) or c) the technician couldn't do the job that day.

I am unsure as to which is the right option, but they have then decided to rebook the car in, but not straight away, but in two weeks time.

I have since contacted them in numerous ways and they have failed to contact me back, the latest response was that I would get a call back in two working days, this despite me contacting them three days ago!

It feels like you buy a BMW and then they dont care, this is both Stratstone and BMW, the service is poor, or non-existent, I would absolutely not recommend these guys at all, maybe one day they may call me back and I may have all the functionality I paid for.......

BMW Stratstone of Harrogate had my BMW 635d for service today and everythings has been done as should.
Excellent service. Very polite , gave me a BMW 4 series convertible for the day, Thankyou very much, see you next time

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Possibly the worst organisation i have had the misfortune to deal with. I purchased a car from a BMW Dealer but used Stratstone Leeds as the service garage as they are local to me. Every contact with them has been painful. of the many issues ...a recall where they refused to give the car back to me even after delaying the recall so they could order the parts in in advance so the car wouldn't be kept overnight, and then failing to get a rental/replacement car the same day. Mis-selling of a service plan where the sales team assure you that any untaken services get refunded but they don't so you end up paying more ! Rude operators who put the phone down on you when you phone.

The centralised bookings team are hopeless and ineffective.
