I actually wrote a review on one of their products on their website. It wasn't a good review as the dinnerware I purchased starting marking very easily (which shows on a white set) not long after starting to use. Interestingly enough my review does not show on their site. Only the 4 and 5 star reviews do. This is the first time I have written a negative review as I have had good products from their store but don't trust their reviews.

Stokes as a retailer has great products but customer service is entirely another matter.
I have currently been emailing Melyssa at their customer service for online orders.
The product I purchased had a $10.01 price drop which we sorted out but my refund does NOT include HST paid on purchase.
It's not a large amount to be ripped off for but the snarky attitude is not necessary.
$10.01 + Hst $1.30 = $11.31
with my math comprehension.

"The price difference was 10.00$ the HST would be applied on both purchases regardless of the cost of the item.
Therefore the system allowed a refund of 10.01$ ( 10.00$ ) for your price adjusment.

This is not the kind of attitude I expected from someone representing Stokes.

Aucune notification de ma commande et le numéro de service à la clientèle ne passe pas. Je voulais vraiment mes produits. Ce matin, je me réveille et je vois un remboursement? Ça veut dire quoi. I have no issue with the products Stokes sells or their stores, but I will never order anything online from them again. It started with unacceptable delays in processing my order (not shipping), which was placed in plenty of time to get by Christmas. Emails and phone calls went unanswered. Eventually, my package arrived after Christmas but one item was missing. While I was not charged for this item, it is still showing as shipped on my account and Stokes has not responded to my email asking if it would be shipped in the future. My daughter had similar experience with items arriving broken and no response from Stokes to her emails. Now you can't even leave a message on their customer service line! Yet they keep sending advertising emails and showing up in my FB feed. They clearly do not have the capacity to process the volume of orders received and their customer service is almost non-existant. Save yourself the aggravation - if you like their products, only buy in person at one of their stores.

Same issue my items all arrived damage and chipped last Dec 28,2020. Butter dishes and serving trays. One order was also sent as an open box, screws are missing and chipped on plate, so I assumed this was a return before and this is what they sent me.

I have sent them my first email on dec 28 No reply, then follow up Jan 8, 2021, Jan 13, 2021, Jan 17, 2021, still no reply.
And now I am so dissapointed, no call center to call too.

Not even sure anymore how can this get thru them.

I placed an order online and received a bundle of broken bowls. I contacted Customer Service and sent them photos of the poor packaging that caused the items to break. The Customer Service person was very nice, and re-shipped the order to replace my broken bowls. However, the warehouse packaged them exactly the same way (terrible) and I ended up with another bundle of broken glass. I contacted Customer Service again, sent photos again, and this time, they have not gotten back to me. It's been far more than the 72 hours they promise.

Really wish I read all the reviews. Never thought in a million years that a Canadian company would take your money and never ship items. No one answers the phone or emails. How do I get my money back? Has anyone been able to get a refund from this garbage company? So disappointed!!

Placed an order Dec 10. Still not shipped. No answer at phone or email customer service. Will not order again.

Very disappointed went in to buy a mixer that was on sale black friday didnt have color wanted red only had display mgr said buy it and come back next week as shipment comes in but 3 weeks later nothing this was a gift they put in a box that was torn so it got taped well i cant give this as gift looks like someone used with damaged box so upset. Not happy plus with shutdown here store closed

Placed an order 2 weeks ago and it not been shipped and I cannot get customer service on the phone or by email but they billed visa pretty quickly. won't do business with them again. Stay away from the site and shop somewhere else..... Zero Stars

Terrible customer service—have been trying to contact representative daily for over a week; but no return call or e-mail regarding price adjustment. Also unable to use birthday promotion.

I was looking for a particular set of dishes and needed 12 place settings. When I found two sets at Stokes Oshawa, Christina offered to check with other stores to see if she could find another set for me. In less than 24 hours she had located one and arranged for the district manager to pick it up. She called me once it was in. Thank you, Christina, for your great customer service! I really appreciated your help.
This was the 3rd Stokes I had been in and the first offer of added help. Great customer service at Stokes Oshawa! Unlike Conestoga Mall and the Cambridge center!

I had an experience similar to many others here. Placed an order July 8th. Items arrived in good time. The two boxes of wine glasses were completely shattered and my order was missing an item that I had been billed for
I emailed them promptly. Waited two weeks. Emailed again. Waited a week. Called, cant reach anyone, left a message. Today us august 11th
So over month has gone by and I havent even gotten ahold of anyone

On June 22nd, I ordered 4 sets of the Stretch Silicone lids and 3 other items. Two of the items were received on July 9th. I did not receive the silicone lids or the mason jar. I emailed Stokes on July 13, July 20, and July 27. I also phoned them on July 19 and 25. When calling, you are not given the option of waiting for a representative and must leave a voice mail message (which is what I did). As of today, I have not received a reply. Given my difficulty in obtaining any customer service, I will not buy from this company again.

Placed an order and eventually (over a month later) received some of the items. With the order was a note saying that the main item was not in stock and a credit would be made to my account. Not sure why they felt they could bill for an item they didn't even have in stock. In response to my inquiries, I received five "ticket numbers", but no response and no credit. Finally had to get my credit card company to check into it and I eventually got my refund. Just not worth the hassle and frustration to try to deal with this company.

I had an item arrive with a major defect (enamel Remy Olivier Pot). I have not been able to get a hold of anyone. Despite saying they'd get back to me in 72 hours at the most it's now been nearly 5 days. They deleted the warranty section on their website, they took down the email address for warranty related items. I heard this company is going bankrupt, and it's easy to see why.

ZERO STAR REVIEW - absolutely atrocious customer service. I ordered an electric milk frother ($63) online, I received escargot plates instead (worth $5 a box, received 4 boxes). I have reached out to them COUNTLESS times and get NO response. No one ever answers the phone or returns voicemails, the *only* response I got to any of my numerous emails was that they were closing my ticket, since it was so old, and to resubmit a request if I still need assistance.

I spoke to a manager in store at my local Stokes and she confirmed this is so common, but there is nothing they can do in store to help me. I have to keep calling and emailing. I have no idea how this company stays in business. I have been completely ripped off and they do absolutely nothing to try and rectify the situation.
I have never in my life been more disgusted and disappointed in a company, ever. If I behaved this way at my job, I wouldn't have one.

If I could I would give them a ZERO! I wish I had read other reviews before I went and bought from them. Their customer service is horrible. They do not answer even during their business hours. When I email, I receive an automated response, and yes I get it it’s covid season, but if their customer service is out of commission then they should note that!! I will never buy from them again. All they are interested in is taking your money, and no customer service in place - can’t even report incorrect orders or broken deliveries. Stokes you have terrible online service!
