Edit - After the 3rd conversation with a different person it seems the online access might be back in December.
Pls note - in the pages of T&C for the new app it apparently says you lose online banking once you move.
if you value online banking / website do not move to the new app until you have to. There is no way back.

Skipton have removed ALL online banking access - the chat agent just told me. Part of a modernisation app approach apparently.
She said I'd been notified in the email invite to the new app - NOPE, I checked. 2 emails no mention.
No way back.
Not even sure how I will get my money out right now. Better go off to do it.
Hopefully enough customers will complain that they reinstate but I'll miss out.
Doesn't anybody use computers anymore? Phones are fine for convenience but I don't want to be searching and reading statements on a phone.

My current buy to let lender changed its lending criteria after being with them for 6-7 years so when I tried to borrow additional money through them via a further advance application it was refused on the basis of a flying freehold. The property is a mid-terraced ‘house and a half’ with approx. 35% of the residential use above a ground floor photography studio commercial use. This scenario was fully explained via my broker to Skipton’s North-East Business Development Manager who was locally based, familiarised himself personally by driving past and positively encouraged an application. I’d also reviewed their lending criteria which clearly stated that they were comfortable in lending on non-standard property above commercial use. Despite this, I ended up in exactly the same situation as with my current lender (albeit now out of pocket of a hefty mortgage broker fee) with the application being refused on the basis that … ‘the flying freehold would affect marketability’. I’ve subsequently consulted Chartered Surveyors who confirm that no flying freehold situation exists as the property is leasehold with 993 years remaining and with all maintenance responsibilities fully quantified in the formal legal lease agreement. The leasehold situation was also explained to the valuation surveyor and I really can’t understand how an application can be encouraged following a physical visit to the property by the BDM and then refused when the situation had been fully explained and disclosed prior to application.

Used the chat function and Adnan who responded very quickly solved my problem within minutes and didn't leave me hanging for minutes at a time like some chats can do.
I am dissapointed however that SBS web access via a PC is temporarily disabled for anyone who has signed up for the newer version of the App.... surely the web access should be maintained at all times for all customers! Not everyone likes Apps for everything.....

I had a query regarding a savings account and the agent via the chat facility was very helpful and patient.

MY ISAis maturing in 3 days and they are not offering the best rate they have available.

Fantastic mortgage from Skipton. No hassle. Was the easiest part of our first home purchase.
They sent a lovely hamper when we moved in which was so useful and even had wall screws and a wire which came in so handy for hanging our first piece of art in our home. They thought of everything you might need in the rush of things when you move in, down to tea bags!

I really want to thank Simon and the whole staff team at the Hull branch. I mentioned to Simon that I was getting married and when I returned home from my honeymoon I received a hamper. The hamper is great quality and we will use for wedding cards etc inside the hamper was treats for my wife and I containing high quality produce. There was also a lovely little note congratulating us on our wedding.
We've always loved visiting the branch in my home town as the staff are so friendly and polite, plus they love my little dog who loves rolling around on their carpet. However not just this branch but every branch I've visited the staff have always been great.

The representative I spoke to was extremely helpful, friendly & professional!
