I ordered a vintage brooch which is very pretty although very small. I also received a free gift of a bracelet. I’ve bought lots of jewellery from this company and in the main, I’ve been very satisfied.

Although the items are well made, the delivery really lets Shiptons down.
I ordered goods on 31st July and it is now 14th August, yet I haven't even had confirmation that the goods have been dispatched.
My previous orders have also been slow, with 14-days being normal.

Great value. Good quality. Goods arrived on time, intact and left in safe place as instructed.

Husband ordered a Russian wedding ring to replace the one I’d lost,never arrived, had to contact them to be told it was on its way,never arrived,then was told it wasn’t in stock,shocking service, then according to the website ALL sizes are available,no apology nothing, they couldn’t care less

After leaving my £2500 engagement ring to be resized (not bought from them ) at this shop in Stratford upon Avon I was assured confidently and happily that it should be back from head office and ready to collect in well under 2 weeks .
Had to chase a quote for the work that I was told I’d receive a phone call about which never came , only to be spoken to by two other members of staff so
Rudely I was astonished, upset and mostly disappointed. Was told that they were chasing head office , my ring was sat somewhere in an in tray of someone who was on holiday … I was told I must be lying as it didn’t agree with their usual policy : I explained I was only going by what I was told by who I left it with but they just continued to be argumentative and rude. Our families have used this jewellers for generations and after this none of them will ever go there again. We have a big anniversary coming up and birthdays and a wedding and was hoping to get everything from this little shop. Not any more . It seems it is not the lovely little family run business it used to be , it’s part of a chain and the customer service is awful.
If I’d have read the previous reviews on here and trust pilot I wouldn’t have even entertained going there at all.

I have bought from this company on a number of occasions. They regularly send me their current catalogue, and I find attractive rings and earrings there. I have no interest in other sorts of jewellery, but have found an excellent variety to buy. I prefer silver settings for both rings and earrings, and choose stones that will match my dress choices. I am also delighted that they provide a full range of prices, allowing all to enjoy their lovely pieces. They always dispatch items individually in smart little boxes, enclosed in secure external wrapping. I have also benefited from sales occasionally, and orders can be made online, by post,or by telephone.

Shipton & Co are a great company. Website was very easy to navigate, gave you all the information you needed. I received my order within a few weeks. When I received it my circumstances had changed and I had to return it. Return process was very easy. I ordered another item, which I received quickly. I contacted customer service and got answered very quickly and my problem was resolved immediately.

I have ordered from this company many times. Ordering is easy. There is always a great choice. Delivery is quick.

There is a wide range of lovely items available, some showing larger in size than the actual size. I am very happy with my purchase, nicely presented and treasonably priced. Delivery was prompt and good.

Customer service is non-existant. I bought 2 rings last year from Shipton's, one was the Turquoise and blue topaz "Eye of Ra" ring which my husband was getting me for our wedding anniversary. The pieces of turquoise either side were very badly set and uneven, sticking up in the air. I didn't mention my disappointment to my husband as it was a present but the quality of workmanship was awful. The first time I wore the ring a piece of the turquoise fell off! Luckily, it fell onto a tiled floor and I heard it and picked it up. My husband stuck it back on, far neater and more firmly than it was originally. I was scared to wear the ring again in case anything else fell off but as it was our anniversary 6 days ago I thought I would risk wearing the ring again and really keep an eye on it. This was a very bad idea as when I looked at the ring later in the day, one of the tiny stones at the side had fallen out and been lost! This was only the 2nd time of wearing the ring (carefully,) and already 2 pieces had fallen off it; terrible workmanship! I filled in a form for Customer Services and Aiden rang me. He suggested that I sent it back to them to "look at". No mention of repairing it or any sort of recompense when they established what poor quality the workmanship was. I was reluctantly going to send it back when it occurred to me that if my ring went missing in the post, I would have no ring or any recompense. I rang the next day and spoke to Yasmin who was very pleasant but said that she couldn't do anything until she had spoken to her manager who wasn't in until 10.30. I told Yasmin that I wasn't happy sending the ring back in case it went missing, and, as according to Aiden, they were only going to "look at it", so I said that if they would just send me out a replacement tiny stone (worth a few pence), then my husband would glue it in and I would settle for that. (Although the rest of the tiny stones and the other piece of turquoise will probably drop off at a later date ) Yasmin said she'd have to speak to her manager first then would email me. That was 3 days ago and I've heard nothing. This ring was for a special occasion but the quality is terrible and it's now spoilt as it's missing a stone. I have bought many things off Shipton's over the years and always been happy but this ring is clearly not right. It seems that customer loyalty counts for nothing though as I have had no email off them, and no tiny stone to replace the missing one. To say I am disappointed is an understatement, I would have expected better as a loyal customer of an old family firm but, sadly, it seems that I was very wrong. This matter could have been quickly, easily (and cheaply) resolved, but Shipton's say they will email you and then don't.

UPDATE*
As of 24th July 2026, Shipton's did eventually email me and this matter has now been resolved to my satisfaction.

This company delivers beautiful quality products at affordable prices. Everything arrives well packed and very promptly. I ordered a little silver musical box for my new great granddaughter, and the young parents are delighted with it, as I was when it arrived. I can recommend Shipton & Co if you are looking for a special gift without breaking the bank.
