The service I received from Sheils Motor Group was atrocious to say the least.

I booked my MG in for a full service, and the earliest appointment available was three weeks away. About a week before the appointment, a check engine light appeared on the dashboard. I rang the service team and explained the issue in detail. I was assured that it would be looked at and resolved during the service.

On the day of the appointment, I dropped the car off. Eight hours later I was told the car was ready. However, five minutes after leaving the dealership, the check engine light came back on.

When I got home I rang the service department. The person who answered told me they had not been informed about the issue, which is simply not true as I had already called ahead about it. It appears the fault code may simply have been cleared rather than properly diagnosed, as the light disappeared briefly but immediately returned. I was then given another appointment two weeks later.

Three days ago I left the car with them again. Over the phone on the first day they said they were waiting on a part and the car would be ready the next day. On the second day, when we rang again, we were told their technician had taken the car home to see if the check engine light came back on.

Today we collected the car and were told the part had not actually arrived, and that we would need to wait another two weeks for a call.

To make matters worse, when I opened the boot there was someone’s lunch left inside the car.

The engine light is still on, the issue has not been resolved, and communication throughout the process has been extremely poor.

This is a 251-registered car purchased last year, and this level of service is completely unacceptable.

Honestly, I would not recommend anyone go through this experience. If it were possible to leave 0 stars, I would.

I bought a new MG 5 three years ago on an PCP deal. When they sold me the car there was a GMP (guaranteed minimum price) on a trade-in, I have been trying to contact them for 6 weeks now and they don't even have the manners or courtesy to return my calls, absolutely not good enough

I bought a jeep from them that was by no means cheap unknown to myself the jeep had multiple PRE-EXISTING problems.
The first being that the part for adblue was cracked & leaking onto the engine . I had to fill the adblue nearly everyday and when I rang the garage in Galway where I bought it they told me I was overheating the engine and that’s why I had to do that by after a lot of back and forth they had me drive the jeep to Galway to be fixed without even an offer of a curtesy car I had to plead for one & the resolution they came up with wa as above and they had the jeep a number of weeks for parts etc to fix it
After getting it back the jeep was pulling power and when I called they first told me it was an EGR valve then I was told it was the DPF FILTER and to drive it hard for an hour to clear it when that didn’t work I was told I hadn’t driven it right & that it had to be over 2000 revs for a while to clear it the service department told me then SHOCKER that didn’t work I kept getting passed off and after me insisting they took the jeep again and they told me they had it fixed this happened multiple times each time them having it for weeks until the last time they told me it was the DPF and that they had fixed it definitely

I was 5hrs from home and the lovely DPF caused the turbo to go in my jeep I had to have it towed to a mechanics and loan a car to get home all to find out by the mechanic that what caused it was the DPF that SHEILS MOTOR GROUP GALWAY told me they fixed was in fact hollow yes HOLLOW the filter and everything inside had been removed welded and put back into the car completely illegally sold to me by MR SHEILS in Galway.

Understandably I was fuming with anger I rang SHEILS GALWAY and they just asked me “where is this conversation going what do you want us to do” “ is it a part your looking for” is the response I got from the service department
I asked them to all documents regarding the sale and fixing of the jeep and I am being ignored by them
